I’ve done all sorts over the years. I disliked school and didn’t do as well as I should have. Worked in retail, hospitality, bike shop and programmed in IT for a while before my brain temporarily went into melt down.

Currently a sometimes employed photographer, but more often than not, my days revolve around looking after our kids and keeping a messy house.

Grateful my wife loves having a proper job, and that our kids look like they’ll do better than both of us.

I bought an older SH Attack Trail frame off this very forum some years ago.

It was truly appaling at going downhill.

I kept it a month before offloading it on ebay.

The only good thing about my experience with it, was I made a few quid out of it.

I did it on my own over 3 days and carried all my stuff.

If you’re 28 and fit you’ll be fine. Iirc most companies do it over 5 day.

On a 5d or MkII you can’t get to the actual sensor to damage it.

Worth a try, the article though old that article has principles that still apply.

Have a search on talkphotography[/url] for a repair shop near you though, that’s the best place for info.

    This might help.

Unlikely to be on the actual sensor.

If they’re only being used for a one off, then surely any light will last that long.

Why would you buy cheap lights for a kids bike?

Surely if they are needing lights then get them some decent ones.

Most city high streets just evolve over time, giving what the customer of the day wants.

When I was little North Street which is on the edge of Leeds town centre had 8 Antique shops. By the late 80s it had one, and the rest of the shops empty.

Most people no longer bought antiques.

Today (streetview shows) one empty unit, and a diverse range of other uses. Once again it’s thriving.

HMV, Jessops are maybe different in as much we still want their products.

Though now there are easier and cheaper ways to buy them.

Seems to be a little contradicting, running in a bike race…

I’ve seen plenty pushing their bikes in Mountain Bike races. 😉

Are you allowed to run it all ?

    and not have a bike.

Yep, just like you can catch a bus when you run a marathon.

Sold my last mountain bike a while back.

There’s nowt I can’t ride round here in the Peak on a cross bike.

I may be a bit slower on the downhills, but couldn’t care less really.

We’ve done it load with the kids, most recently at half term when it froze over night.

Forget normal PJs, dress them in full length thermals with socks, and the all important hat or balaclava. Maybe with a thin fleece jumper too.

Last time my lad used an adult 3 season down bag.

    No complaints from him.

that drivers find it harder to assess position and movement of a flashing light than a solid light.

How does the stuff size up?

Sizing is quite often strange. I always try before I buy.

I’ve had loads of their good stuff over the years, VVGFVM.

Their cheap cycling stuff is junk though.

Did anyone drive into the back of any of these people?
If not, do you think that just down to luck, or some other reason?

Maybe none of those without lights didn’t get hit today.

They’re hardly stacking the odds in their favour are they though.

20 Miles – half the forum cannot manage that and you want to take kids on it you monster

Mine have done 12 miles a couple of times not sure re that distance tbh

The good thing about the out and back is that anyone can always turn back early. Plus there are lots of nearby roads, that we can go and get a car should the need arise.

Mine when they were 5 and 8 did P Hey to Ashbourne and back over a long but steady day one summer. 😆

I reckon that the kids out with other kids won’t notice the distance. Maybe.

We drove 90 miles today, all of the journey in various thicknesses of fog, and all bar one of the cyclists we saw had no lights.

Most of the roads we were on were 50 speed limit too.

    Mentalists.
