Surely a towpath will have historical use by horses, or does it need to be recent?

Ah that’s interesting. I actually thought the work was to encourage them to stick to the main path.

Yes, back in the day there wasn’t the alternative line. I think it was created by visiting chickens.

What size dry bags are they?
Does the front move about much wi just one strap on it?
    What’s in them?
And re the rear one how do you manage to keep it up for so long?

13l on the front of mine, all the others are 8l.

Surprisingly stable, though you could add another shorter strap to the headtube if you were caning it over big stuff.

Bivvybag and sleeping bag up front, clothes behind.

The rear I used 3 straps which all needed to be tight. Really fiddly to get it right. Since then I’ve gone back to a conventional seatbag: more weight empty, stable, and quick to get things in and out of it.

Local shops are so important to us & the industry. Glad we found a solution with @CafRoubaix & will take this experience to heart.

There’s a vent for Speedwell down there iirc. Also there are lead mines round there.

I used to tell my daughter not to sit too long on the toilet in our camper because there was a crocodile in there. That worked. :)

Whilst I slagged off the older cameras, here’s a shot I took with my lads 350d and kit lens at the weekend.

It’s fiddly to use for sure but the results aren’t too shabby.

My main issue with the older Canons is how tiny the rear screen is.

I’m suprised there has been no mention of her legs, or did nobody notice them.

I’ve spent Xmas in Ossian’s cave in Glencoe, a bergschund in the Alps, and most memorably in that vein doing a first winter British ascent with only a packet of ginger nuts en route. Oh and one year I left Chamonix on Xmas day and cycled home.

I’m looking forward to a family Xmas in front of a wood fire with the full trimmings.

I like the way you can “watch it in progress” gripping stuff.

Depending on the axle to crown measurement, you might get away with a 26″ fork ?

Thread hijack as I didn’t really find what I was looking for when I posted this last night. Any idea where I can get 24in rigid fork with dick mount to swap with the suspension on my daughters soon to arrive Carerra Luna (Girlie blast)?

Exotic do a carbon one. £100+ though.

Don’t avoid suspension if he is doing anything reasonably technical.

How’s a heavy front end that doesn’t really compress going to help him?

    Scott Scale 24

    Felt Q24

    Cannondale Trail 24

There’s loads of choices out there.

<edit> Though personally I’d avoid suspension, all the ones we’ve tried are rubbish.

    Wtf is a “perfomance craftivist”

Plus at least you’d think she’d make something useful, not a bandage that needs a wash.

Find somewhere scenic free of litter, and other distractions, take your bike there on a day with some fluffy clouds in the sky and start shooting.

It’s short for riding through the red light and then getting knocked off.

That camera will shoot in manual, I’d stick with that for now.

Like to get pictures of my motorbike at night with it all looking shiny but more emphasis on the bike rather than the background.

Quite tricky to do well. Can be done with either “light painting” or off camera flash.

    >

Also trails of light on a busy motorway are my first aims and then work from there.

Long shutter speed, fairly easy to do, but why you’d bother.

The internet is full of inspiring pictures.

I’d concentrate on what works in good composition before getting bogged down in shutter speeds etc.

Then get out there and take some pictures, the best way to learn.
