Just got this in my email box via his wife.

….He has brain damage to the lower brain stem and other brain injuries. He has multiple fractures and internal injuries. He is currently in a coma. Prognosis is not yet known.

    Excellent.

I loved the one of him the other day in the wintery weather.

Hmmm! Am I the only one who thinks the winning one is well a bit crap. Some guys sat by a table and a rather poor shot of them.

Thanks. This was the winning video.

I love the look on the face of the younger guy of the two who finished. He looked absolutely battered.

    Jubilee clip for seatclamp bodge.

A pair of cheap flat pedals.

I’d give all the bikes the once over a week or two before, and tell them to sort any faults.

I took myself out in the snow and ice last Thursday for my first night ride since my accident. Was great fun, scary too, but wouldn’t have missed it for anything.

Ace, glad to hear you are back on the bike again. We will have to get over for a ride sometime. :)

Not noise cancelling, but a semi closed design on the AKG K 450, which is good enough for me to listen to stuff whilst the kids do kid things, and the wife watches the box.

I’ve toyed with getting one for a while.

They (were) are one of the lightest SS frame and forks.

If you want one Si from 18bikes[/url] can get them.

I went for a mooch round the Cheshire lanes on Saturday, then took my lad to the park so he could practice jumping.

Just out of interest, how many hits are people getting? A typical month for me would be 800-1,000, my best ever was 1,700ish in October last year when I put the World Champs race report up. Is this number good/bad or fairly average?

Hits 3.3K last month on my boys blog. I think it got 5K last January.

While I’m here, anyone know where I might pick up some budget essentials to satisfy the FRA regs? I’m talking a bare nod to the rules.

Good luck with that. After a fatality at Buttermere the other year, kit checks are much more stringent these days.

For the record, some years ago a Lady died at the Fairfield race too. :(

Intervals – 10 x 30 seconds 5 x 60 seconds with recovery in between that gets less towards the end of the session.

    Pyramids – 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and back down again.

I got reasonably fast a few years back doing the above.

Not in any way fun though.

Raced it at Sleepless in 2006.

PS. The bike is long gone, but the bar shifters are on my sons bike now. :)

So the box on the fork is the guts for the light? You say the stand light is longer, what are the comparisons?

    Yes, the light is tiny.

I don’t know the numbers except to say that I have been assured that the capacitor in this light is much larger than in the revo.

This looks fascinating. I would love to know more about it. Any videos kicking about.

I’ll do a more detailed review when I’ve used it all for a bit. No vids that I know of.

How is it all waterproofed? The switch and USB look a bit vulnerable in the pic

None of the stuff in my hand is waterproofed, they are supposed to live in a bag on the bike. I did mention that a waterproof battery holder would be good, and he did say that making one was possible. Though for me the holder would still have to be openable so I could change the batteries.

The box that fits to the fork leg is waterproof though. It also has a blanking plug for if you’re not using the power out option.

I’m going to ride out from Thorner to catch them in a couple of places on the first day.

The second day again roll out from Thorner to catch them near the start. Then head down the M1 to get them on some hills before the finish.

I looked at the Plug 2/3. They look good but I couldn’t work out how water wouldn’t get into the USB socket. Oh, and £160. ;)

crikey, the fork mounted bit is a bit, er, in the firing line!

Of what? It is proud by a couple of mm each side.

    >Edit – You could ask him for that box to be mounted under the stem instead.

Apparently this light has a much longer standlight which requires a bigger capacitor than the one in the Revo.

So I assume I could just use the first splitter box and charge a usb device from that and not use the second box if I had no requirement for a battery charger.

The USB box is one of those in my hand. You wouldn’t need the battery pack.

As I understand it the out from the Revo is only to power the rear light and is not regulated to provide power for a usb device.

Yep, and I got Si to ask them if one with inbuilt USB was coming soon, and they said no. The Revo has a 6v output that’ll run a rear light.
