It would be daft to do anything else.

    Why’s that then?

He’s Cytech qualified, and a quick google will tell you who he is and where he lives. Over 1000 positive feedback.

Paypal will review the payment (usually in 24hrs) and either approve it or not.

Do not send until the payment clears.

As nice as it looks, I think it’ll be a heavy bike for a 6 year old.

I would like to head to the Peak District this Sunday for a ride. Ideally I’d like some natural stuff, as in soil not rocks

It has absoutely tipped it down here today. A route with soil would be the last thing I would be looking for.

so if i set a date, and plan a nice quiet enjoyable route, with cafe’s and a chippy, and a pub, are people gonna be interested?

    Yep, I’m interested.

I’m in. Quite looking forward to it as I’ve never done a 24hr race before.

    I’m not buying that. ;)

“I don’t want to ride home. If you loved me you’d let me back in the van. WAAAAAAHHHHHHH”.
He’d always settle once she’d driven off and eventually admit he was enjoying the ride.

    Brilliant. :)

If they’re having fun it’s all good.

Can’t say we bothered with independent cycling to go anywhere until they were 4-5. They rode locally.

The age difference with yours is tricky. May be a tagalong for your youngest.

My daughter aged 4 at Delamere. Bike riding without the effort.

Once they’re older though, they can soon do anything.

I’ve sent lots of stuff with them without problem.

Then I send a bike £100 underinsured (their max) and guess what?

They did pay out the £250 + post no hassle though.

My 2p with some years catering experience.

If you want to make money (even 10K) you’ll want a fairly big place that is somewhere that has trade all week long and all year round.

A village would not be somewhere I’d be looking.

Whilst on holiday this year I met a guy who had been the landlord in a pub. He said he’d sacked it off as it was long hours, not a lot of money, and very little time off.

His current job is as a delivery driver for Tescos. Steady money, hours to suit and no hassles.

I’ve got a pair. Great in really cold conditions, particularly snow. I always find heavy winter gloves a PITA to take on and off so these are good. Also good if your hands tend to overheat. You can easily cool off.

Yep, it was for sleet/snow in particular that I thought they may be good.

Where did you get yours from?

Irrespective of the ~17K it cost them to set up, it looks from their FB page that they sold up this year.

I think Hora’s got a good point. (never thought I’d write that)

We took theg1 round Landegla blue a couple of times when he was 4 and it was way too much. It gave him negative feelings about cycling for years afterwards. Took a while to get him back into the cycling’s fun point of view.

Kids are all different, my daughter cycled with me for a few years, and now she has no interest in it. That’s not because we overdid it, she’d just rather go and play with her mates.

Jonathan makes a good point for longer rides, always have a plan B and C. We’ve cut a lot of rides short over the years.

Some kids like riding bikes, and some don’t. I love going out with my son, but if he doesn’t want to come along and do something else instead that’s fine also. My daughter rocks, but not on a bike. :)

    Great stuff.

Kids can ride a long way if they are up for it. I no longer have to think with my 9yo how far he can ride. He’ll ride all day.

get trained, build up confidence and get out on the bike, more bike make motorists aware we exist,

I agree. The more cyclists of all ages there are on the roads, the more likely provision will be made for cyclists in road design.

If there are few(er) cyclists using the road, I can understand the argument by transport planners that number of bikes on the road does not warrant a seperate provision for them.

I’m surprised that CB doesn’t ride with his daughter, there are plenty of quietish roads near where he lives.

Having said that one has to invest a good deal of energy in managing a child on a road shared with cars, so I can see why some would not bother.

When it gets cold we use ski mitts not gloves. There’s a slight loss in dexterity, but they certainly keep their hands warm.

Thanks for supporting Master Love Tublette (he loves that BTW) albeit for just a ‘stolen-kiss’ of moment. He learned loads today and has is ‘mustard; to commence his winter turbo programme ready to burst back on the ‘Pootle Circuit’ when he has larger wheels. It was a tough call to depart; a tear filled the corner of my eye as I watched you all riding off into the warmth of the day (Ha).

I remember Tom’s first outing with the Peak massive a couple of years back. I recall we went home early too. There’s a great picture somewhere of crazy-legs pushing me, whilst I push my boy. ;)

As for tandem action, the highlight was a slow speed uphill comedy crash that nearly disabled a number of people far in excess of the occupants of said vehicle.

My lad’s chomping at the bit to join in – I can always take a short cut if need be….I’ve promised him his first ‘beer’ if he makes it round.
    Big day.

Did you guys split at the top of the roman road? If so, Master Love Tublette did amazing!! I was watching him climb up the roman road & he’s a natural! [/quote]

anyone done this without any help?

I tried to once. Not advisable. You’ll have enough on doing the riding, never mind fettling your bike.

I spend quite a bit on my son’s cycling. He rides lots and enjoys it.

To the OP get some air Rebas or similar. I’ve yet to find a coil fork that works well for kids.

    Another Fargo copy?

Having ridden both I can say that they ride very differently.

The Longitude is a much nimbler ride.
