I used MyWhoosh a few times, but it crashed twice. Could be my laptop or internet connection so don’t read to much into this. I’m now using IndieVelo which, so far, has been fine. Updates take about 5 seconds when you start the game. Routes are a bit limited but fine for me. Also free at the moment, but I pay $10 a month which gets me some bonus stuff (not used) plus a discount when they start charging.

Yes, build a house to reduce stress, by getting your wife to lay on her back painting the gutters.

Interesting that it says the owner tried to put out the fire, so it was always known what sort of car it was (at least to the Police/Fire).

Interesting configuration – Is it for anything special?

Not really, just seemed a fun thing to make.
Having the Z axis horizontal means you don’t need a heavy cantilever hanging over the X and Y axis, which would need to be pretty chunky to be stiff enough. I wanted to keep it reasonably movable, but it is still about 30Kg. With the bench, which is all mild steel, you need a trolly to move it.

Finally finish the control cabinet for my CNC mill that I finished about a year ago. All the electrical bits were fixed to a sheet of MDF hanging from the wall, now in a smart cabinet.

White sheet behind is to control the chips a bit, on the list is an enclosure for the mill.

Yes, I only understand about 5% of what they talk about but it’s pretty impressive tech.

Yes, been looking at prices. I’ve got a few others I think I’ll sell, but keep the Shado (all original, even have the instructions). The Corgi Chipperfield Performing Poodles can go (why did I get this? Must have been a present):

Thanks OP, same bike and problem here. Just wondering if it’s worth updating, or just get a new (second hand) bike.

I did it because I’m a bit of a geek. I just like data.

I liked them. Got stuck in, under budget and a couple of months early.

We didn’t get ours serviced, but we had service records that we gave to our buyers. I don’t think this is unreasonable.

If the sensor just measures the depth of oil it will never be smart, as the shape of modern moulded tanks means that the volume of a drop of 1mm isn’t the same at different parts of the tank. It needs to actually measure the oil flow to the house.

What I did was record how long the boiler was on for, and use data for the nozzle in the boiler to work out a flow rate of oil. It worked ok, but the nozzle does get larger over time (mine used to be replaced every service). I’ve gone over to a heat pump now so not a problem.

I always thought Michael Cole was a wrong ‘un, interesting to see what Private Eye say today, they didn’t like him, or, obviously, Al-AFayed.

We had a small tear in ours, repaired with a puncture repair batch, seems to have worked, but may not work for your rip.

Maybe I’m just a stupid bloke, but I laughed at it, like I laughed at most of them over the years. Obviously that makes me a very bad person, but do I care?

All commercial services I’ve used require a 3d CAD file.

I’ve always had good results from Protolabs.

Got rid of the oil fueled central heating and replaced with ASHP a few months ago so just getting the hang of things. Slight complication is the previous owners installed electric UFH in the kitchen so currently playing around with the thermostats to limit this turning on first thing. Single figures outside overnight, inside is high teens early morning, so not cold yet but trying to optimise the system before it does.

The same way you deal with anyone trying to sell you something you don’t want.

    ‘No thanks.’

No time wasted on either side.

If you really want air conditioning and heating, look at air to air heat pumps, which duct air around the house, ether heated or cooled. But you need ducting around the house. Rads are designed to heat, not so good trying to cool.

Have a look at Tim & Kat’s Green Walk on YouTube.

Our installer charged us for the survey, which was refunded when we placed the order. They need to do it first so the quote can include thinks like replacing rads.

Our installer measured each room and the existing rads, and estimated the heat loss from walls, ceilings and windows, based on the age of the house. Then proposed which rads needed replacing based on the lower flow temps. We ended up replacing 10 out of 12 rads. Kitchen has UFH so left as it is. One of the rads was replaced because we didn’t think the old one was enough, based on last winter with the old oil based system.

Very pleased with our installer, who just do heat pumps and solar, but only used for hot water so far (Eco Installer and Service, just outside Ely, Cambs). As to noise, if you’re outside you need to be within about 2 metres to hear it. Inside nothing.

Had one installed about a month ago (plus PV and a battery) so not used for heating yet, just hot water, which is fine. The unit itself is very quiet, can’t hear it inside, and it’s fixed to the wall. We had most of the rads replaced to compensate for the lower flow temp.

We used to be on oil (no gas here) and both the tank and boiler were getting close to needing to be replaced, so we went ASHP to save that cost, plus the grant from the Govt helped.

When I select a new page (eg a thread), for a split second I can see an unformatted version of the page, like from 20 years ago! Not a problem but something doesn’t seem right. Windows 11 and Edge.

I view the annual sub good value for money when you include OneDrive storage the all the office programs. At home I have about 4 PC/laptops/tablets that I use, and being able to access all my files anywhere is useful. The OneDrive app on my phone uploads photos so I don’t need to worry about backing them up. (I’m sure there is free software that can do all this as well as OneDrive).

Plus after many years of using Word and Excel I can’t be bothered to learn something else.
