Met a bloke in a pub at the weekend (near Richmond Park), he offered me eight legs of Venison for £50, do you think that was two deer ?

Yes, its two seperate two port valves, not a 3 port as shown.

I’ve just checked again and my ‘assistant’ has now ben relegated to other duties !! The light on the CH valve is not illuminated when its on, she was looking at the HW. Both of these were replaced in Sept ’02, is that about right ? As it sound as though the electrics are shot, is the electrical unit on top of the actual valve replaceable on its own or is it a complete unit with the valve ? If seperate, is it a job for an enthusiastic amateur,or one for someone not likely to flood the house ?

The boiler is a Potterton ‘Prima F’ 2 seperate valves for CH and HW, both the same, ‘Myson Power Extra’ like this one…

We normally pay £20 but only because my wife says I’m tight for suggesting anything less !! I try to stay out a bit longer to get WFM, after all they’re not declaring it for tax :-)

Funnily enough we are also getting rid of a Peugeot 807. Although I really liked it and it was very practical I got a bit fed up with everything that was going wrong. We’re loking at a 58 reg Sedona, 2.9d, TS. With the Pug I took out one of the 2 back seats and folded the other, this gave me enough room for the bike, without taking a wheel off, I’m guessing this would work in the Sedona also ?

Not doing it but did my first one a few weeks ago at Hawley Lake. My advice would be if you normally ride SPDs then change shoes. I found the running course tougher than I expected and the bike course easier, more fireroad than a normal ride and for that the SPD’s gave me back much more time than I spent changing into and out of them.

Well I did one !! and in the main, enjoyed it, apart from the first half of the last run, bloody hard that was. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of giving it a go. It was interesting looking at the times for the bike section, you can tell the MTBers from the runners!! I had practised run to bike beforehand (a little) but having done onenow realise that I should have done bike to run instead.

Does anyone happen to know where the MTB section of the Iceman is held ?

    Cheers

Would the Bax Castle be more or less than halfways? I had a look at the map and couldn’t be entirely sure. Map of the Downs Link wasn’t any clearer. Is the pub obvious or do you need to know where you are ?

Surface stays good even if it’s wet (plenty of muddy spray though)

Does that mean that with mudguards it doesnt really matter what time of year we do it ?

Night time is the worst part for feeling cold. During the day you move around and can easily add/remove layers to regulate body temperature.

Decent sleeping bags are a must. Only had a two season bag last weekend at SSUK and even with copious amounts of beer I felt a tad chilly. Bring belts/ties of some sort for the kids sleeping bags and tie them off just below their feet, making a shorter bag for their body heat to warm up.

I personally would use the motorway and allow 3 hours journey time. Roadworks on M25 with ave speed cameras and traffic at various points such as M3 jct 4-3/2

1st year we had wall to wall sunshine and people complained about sun burn. Last year we had wall to wall rain and people complained.

We went about 12 years ago before the kids and I would absolutely go again, without the kids, too many jabs, yellow fever etc etc. We did however go in Feb so not the rainy season so cant help you there. £5 to the barman got me the best service I have ever seen for a week including chilled glasses and beer before I even knew I wanted one, loved it !! Food was also good and everything was cheap.

In cases where an employee has left the employer’s employment and launched a grievance, post termination, then it may be possible for the employer and employee to agree to have the grievance dealt with under what is called a modified scheme, i.e., without the necessity of a meeting, where the employer investigates the grievance as a paperwork exercise. A post termination grievance must be lodged within three months of the date of the termination of employment. The lodging of such agreements may in appropriate cases then extend the time for the filing of a claim form in the Employment Tribunal.

I’m a bit confused now, am I meant to be offended by being Irish and having to listen to the term Pikey ? or horrified that some Pikey scum could do that to any animal in an area where I take my kids to ride their bikes ?

I know that to some extent fitness in one area will assist in another, I was more curious about muscles really. If my legs are stronger from cycling does it follow that I would run faster ?
