I love mine , Mk 2 I did have a small which was too cramped and felt over the front but then I bought a medium with a 60mm stem and its spot on ! its more of a steady eddy ride but thats ok 🙂 I also have 120mm forks and its just right ! maybe you have the wrong size like I did ?

I do have a clutch rear mech if that’s going to be any good ? Don’t have isg tabs on the soul but I’m sure a bottom bracket roller would work 🙂 good to hear about the guy on his hardtail at morzine 🙂

What travel forks you got on there ?

I have a set of x fusion velvet forks set at 120mm and can say they are very good for the money . I have the basic lock out and rebound pair and havent had any problems whats so ever ! and they only cost £340 new so great value ! also they are 650b compatible which is good too if you wish to go down that route ?

only problem with owning that bike is you would have to be a good rider too because having a bike that good and just being average wouldnt work ! people would laugh at you on your club rides 🙂

I bought a soul classic few months ago built up with x fusion forks 120mm crest rims slx finishing kit and weighs 25lbs ! I ride swinley forest mainly with the odd trips to glentress and peaks and it doesn’t miss a beat ! Great bikes

I think all three sizes are fine , something for everyone ! but dont phase any out keep all three !

I have a pair of velvets 2013 on my soul and I think they are very good , they were only £320 new from freeborn and I cant fault them . They have air adjust , rebound and lock out and thats it , what else do you need TBH .Fit and forget forks !

mind you santa cruz seem still happy with 26ers likes the blur range and nomad

I bought a small soul in the end which suits me , very well made !

when you look on CRC and the comments, users have had the same problem too , its not only me and with the amount of seatpost showing it causes alot of leverage at the collar which is not good !

I had a surge (large) and im 5ft 9 and it was so small I alot of seatpost showing which causes problems with this frame ! Due to too much seatpost showing i broke two frames at the seatpost collar so I wouldnt get one if I were you ? cotic are so much better quality !

It was quite good considering how tired I was and how muddy it was ! Did swinley forest at night which was fun 🙂
