hi, I have one and been using it for about a year now.
It is very waterproof and is pretty breathable as well.
It has no signs of wear from shoulder straps (I ride to work in it with a backpack, off-road with a Camelbak), the fabric is pretty robust, it is lightweight too and stretchy in places, tho if you ride somewhere with lots of snagging trees/brambles/bushes that type of thing then I guess like all lightweight fabrics it will potentially tear.
I have fallen off a couple of times and nothing bad has happened other than it getting dirty.
It’s a great shell, rolls up small, fits well and stretches in the right places, as people have said above it is just that tho, it is not warm, it is waterproof and windproof but definitely not warm.
It also does not come with a hood, you can buy one separately, so water will ingress down the neck if it is totally p*ssing down, but to be honest a hood will not be that much help then anyway.
the rest of it will be dry tho.
It is expensive but it is a good cycling jacket and I use mine a lot so have had my moneys worth out of it.
plenty of reflectives on it as well so good enough for a commuting jacket as well as an mtb one, so only need one jacket for both.
wish they had done it in the green when I bought mine, was only black or red last year.

Come in wca, you no you need XX1 to compete around lordswood !
But failing that 1×10 with 11-36 in the back will be more than enough for your needs here and abroad (wales) 😀

I use a nitrider minewt for commutting, ride every day all year round, it’s about 250-300 lumens I guess, but more than bright enough for a and b roads and unlit country lanes, usb recharge and easy fit, had mine for 4 years now and still as good as new, waterproof and good battery life, charge every couple of days.
Do about 20-25 miles a day.
For the rear just have 2 generic cateye lights, both run on aaa batteries, change about twice a year.
Imo buy a decent front light which you cam usb charge off work computer, cheap to leave a cable at work and home so battery is always charged.
Rear lights with batteries last for ages, if you have two cheap ones even if one goes the other will be working.
Also recommend getting lots of reflective tape and taping your rear stays, mudguards, aide of forks etc, you can get it in any colour so you will not see it on the frame but as soon as a light hits it you light up like a Christmas tree, much more effective than lights sometimes.

there is Mountain HArdware Sale on on the Sports Pursuit site at the moment. very nice jackets and very good quality.

I can also recommend the current Rab equipment, just come back from 3 weeks climbing and trekking in Nepal.
I used predominantly Rab outer kit, the Rab Stretch Neo Shell Jacket and Trousers were used in some pretty epic rain and never once got close to leaking, they were also extremely breathable for walking and climbing duties.
I have a new goretex active fit jacket as well for comparison and it was not as breathable as the neo shell.

If you can find it anywhere Sherpa Gear was also being used a lot by the climbing sherpas and the guys I spoke to using it were very complimentry, it does have a stiff price tag, but the quality was right up there.

they should start doing Top Gear “Star on a reasonably priced bike” segments, where a top xc or downhill star gets to ride the equivalent lap on a mid price bike.
And other segments where 2 or 3 journos get £500 to build a bike from the classifieds then ride a famous 100miler or 12/24 hour race or a bikepacking adventure.
they could then set fire to them/ drop them off cliffs, block up trails etc in hilarious manner.
Would at least show that it is the riders more than the bikes that make cycling fun and that you can have that fun at a pretty reasonable price.

May or may not be of use, but fizik do demo saddles of every saddle they make, go to a fizik dealer leave a deposit and just keep demoing saddles for as long as it takes, I demo’d 5 over a period of about 3 months till I found the right fit, shape and comfort level.
I believe your in Southampton area, peter hansfords do them, I demo’d mine through the chandlers Ford shop.

For an all in one light i have a Full Beam Fusion light, which is really nice, really good beam pattern, more than bright enough to be used on it’s own without a helmet light.

It has a magnet on the wheel with a sensor (much like a speedo) which automatically dims or brightens the light depending on speed, which works nicely.

It has a number of settings so is very tune-able to your riding and runs for about 4-5 hours or longer if you choose lower power settings, with approx 3000 lumens i normally run it at a lot lower and do not feel i am missing out compared to riding friends.

I have had this light for just over a year now, ran it all last winter for night riding and commuting and it does the job really well.
It is not cheap but it does work incredibly well.

For comparison before I had Ay-Ups, which are great lights but a little lacking on power (but great for racing) and I have also ran the Chinese lights which people commonly link on here, which were also good as well.

In terms of cost then the full beam loses, but in terms of quality of light, functions, quality of manufacture and company support as well as supporting British manufacturing then it is great.
I had a problem with the switch and it was replaced with no arguments and they also paid the postage both ways.

I think the main difference is the cleanness of the light you get compared to other lights I have had.

I realise loads of people will probably say it’s a waste of money and you can get cheaper lights which are better etc but they are definitely worth a look if you are after a single light which just works all the time with out any hassle.
So overall I have been very impressed.

If your anywhere near Southampton your more than welcome to try mine.

I have been using teva links for the past 2 months since converting to flats, seem pretty bombproof, have a water resistant outer and are really comfy, they are not as grippy as the 5:10’s i tried, but i like to move my feet a bit on the pedals to readjust sometimes so they are good for that.
i gave them a clean at the weekend and they still look like new, the sole is really good for muddy climbs as well i find and comfortable enough and looks like a trainer so you can wear it casually.

I ride a large and I am 6ft, seems bang on for me, it does not have the longest top tube so it intially felt a little bit more upright, but after a couple of rides of playing around with everything it now feel spot on. lovely bike, I use it for everything now.
