all sounds pretty standard and good to me, i have not ridden much since last year so slow is about my top speed, we have just moved to the area, popped up there a while ago but had no idea where i was going, so will be good to ride/meet some new people and have a bit of an explore.

    hi,
i would like to come along if that’s ok,
i would just like to check the location i am coming from Burgess road side of lordswood, if i turn right at the Woodsman and just keep going i assume the gas station is the last thing on the left after Dunvegan Dr. (when i look on google maps).
if so will be there just before 7.

Would not like to carry the spare batteries tho, especially with a 10 min run time!

Ay Ups are brilliant, my mates exposure stopped working last night, we split my set onto both our bikes and had no problems, plenty bright enough. small, light weight, slow fade if battery running low (they don’t just cut out) and they charge quickly too. cracking bit of kit.

hi sorry went out after i posted, it climbs very well at 120, as mentioned it does have a long top tube, i asked and sanderson said it had been designed to ride like an old kona, but with a short stem, this was one of the reasons i bought it as i like the old kona feel.
i mainly ride south downs way and around winchester, usually quite far and it is a great bike, i’ll upload some pictures later for you.
if your anywhere close feel free to come for a ride.

will there be a ride next week at all? we are moving just down the road on Stoneham Lane, so would be nice to meet some people and have a look, we popped over a month or so ago but generally got lost, what was there that we found was nice tho.

i bought a sanderson life about 6 weeks ago, having had the same debate, picked it up new for £350 from The Bike Chain in glasgow/edinborough online, fantastic service and can’t fault the frame, it’s a fabulous ride, confident and assured
not sure about the ‘naff’ paintjob, mine seems pretty good, the welding is tidy and neat,
it’s quite long on the top tube,(i spoke to Sanderson and they said it was designed like on old Kona, long and racy) but i like that, coupled with a short stem and some f120’s it is a fab ride. nice and responsive with a bit of flex/spring in the back.
I have not ridden the pipedream scion, but that would have been my other choice as well, and it does look nice and gets good reviews,
if you live anywhere down south your welcome to try mine.
i doubt you would be disapointed if you bought either, owners of both rate them highly.
    hope that helps

abatty – that’s what it was then, that’s exactly the bit, the hill is really steep and very fast, although not much fun cycling back up it on the way back! I am working on getting the day off so hopefully i can join in the fun, otherwise i’ll be doing it on the saturday.

it was somwehere between old winchester hill and before you get to butser hill, takes you down a super steep road hill round a right hand corner, under a bridge and there is a sign (semi-hidde by tree) on the left immediately after the bridge, you go up the track and it takes you back onto the trail to butser hill. it may well be open again now, but thats what was there a couple of weeks ago.

darn, was going to do this on the saturday, but may look into taking a day off to do it on the friday, unless anyone is interested on going on the saturday instead due to work commitments? sorry to hi-jack. will get back if i can take the day off.
we did the winch to QE park ride 2 weeks ago took us just under 2 and a half hours, we saw about 10 people in total so nice and quiet, they have closed a section of the trail so there is a couple of miles of road (super downhill all the way) and as you come under a bridge there is a trail to the left you need to take, not that well signposted as we almost missed it, so look out for that bit.
also from winch the first water tap is QE park, although you pass through a big farm who if you can find someone will normally fill a bottle for you.
if anyone is up for the sataurday give me a shout as i would prefer not to take a day off. good luck, it is a really good day out.

we did the same when we got married last year, (not asking for presents) we ended up with a lot of JL vouchers and people on average gave £20 – we have some well off ans some not so well off friends, generally the not so well off gave more money (probably why there not so well off)
so in answer £20 is fine or get tem something unique or personal like a photo of all of you, two of the best presents we got were a picnic basket and a drinks globe.
    hope that helps

Do a nice 8.5 in the mornings and 9.5miles on the way back via the fields, takes roughly the same time as the walk and train and is loads more fun, not to mention putting me in a good mood for the day !

Here is mine in anodized black, as with Duntmatter’s, second hand frame and not a new bit on it,apart from the cables, all in less than a grand (apart from the wheels, which I share between 2 bikes) they are amazing bikes I would heartily recommend it.

    all clean

    all dirty

It was very muddy, few big puddles around, cold as anything, but other than that a good ride, a little slow but nice.
