just getting the bike from you house to the van will have cost a quarter of the working life of your pivot bearings.
may be worth ordering new ones now for next weeks ride 😀

I am at the winchester end if thats any good, email is in profile if you fancy a ride.
Checking through my records I bought mine from the bike chain in edinburgh, they delivered for free and were very helpful with sizing enquires and general questions.

    hi
    the Ritchey does look nice!

I have a Sanderson Life and live on the end of the SDW if you want to try it, they are very long in the top tube tho, so i would look at the geom’ before you buy.
I really like mine, been geared and ss and it’s a great bike for riding around here. think i paid £350 for the frame new so pretty reasonable too.

    Longest nose manual ever!?
you look a bit of a gimp doing a nose manual eh?

reckon if you did that near a school you would get a restraining order 😮

    hi matt,
i have all the tools and a spare fox f32 seal kit in the garage if you need them, it’s pretty straight forward, prob worth pulling the seals out to check them first tho.
let me know can bring stuff on Thurs night.
    email in profile etc etc

if you feel cramped on our current bike then maybe a Sanderson Life, my large frame has a really long top tube and i run it with 120 forks, could prob go 130mm but may wonder a bit on the steep climbs, 50mm stem and 720 bars.
i am 6ft and have a long upper-body so it feels right.
also has a 27.2mm seatpost and an 853 frame. nice and springy in the back.
the Prince Albert, as everyone above has mentioned is also a great frame as well.

As grilla, i bought the Defy 2, 2012 model for £650, mainly because of the better groupset and the frame and forks get really well reviewed.

It is a very stiff and responsive, you feel the bike pick up straight away, I tried the Triban 5 and did not find it quite so responsive, it is still great value for money though.

I would try both and see what you prefer.
I swapped the seatpost out for a carbon one to make the Giant a tad more comfy.

The Giant has carbon forks as well,
it is the seat stays on the Triban which are carbon and alloy on the Giant.

I can only comment on the assos f1, I have two pairs and do lots of miles in them, they are really comfortable and have lasted me 2 years so far just followingv the instructions and chamois cream.
Very expensive but very very good, much better than other bibs I own, (gore, altura, specialized)

Rode it yesterday morning, the ride from winch up to cheesfoot head is very muddy and there is still snow in places, fair bit of ice or slush depending on what time, other than that was a good ride once we got onto the top.

!Aa Steve said 240’s are great hubs, get them serviced and rebuilt with some good quality
Spokes and tubeless rims, will cost less than 300 and you will have a better set of wheels.
Or just get a stans or Joes tubeless kit for around 30 quid

the maddison genesis range are quite nice in steel, not sure if they do a frame only option tho. reynolds tubing, although may be the stuff made under licence in far east rather than the uk stuff. still they look nice.
