I've never had much joy with the freeloader. Might be that I've got a duff one but it doesn't seem to retain charge

Have you thought of one of those that Kaiser Bill used to wear with a great big spike on top?

I think you may be overanalysing this. Why not do what I generally do? Take your credit card down to LBS, try a few on, see which fits the best and then buy the one that looks the coolest!

Mate at work got a Sutra on cycle to work scheme. Nice looking bike apart from the fact that some chump – presumably a Kona designer ignored the bosses on the forks and has used JUBILLEE CLIPS to mount the front rack. Once I'd noticed that I couldn't get past it.

Is that a one off or are they all like that?

Prison break. First one is great. The other 3 have jumped the shark a bit but still pretty watchable

The Register did a review on 5 or 6 of them. Probably find it with a quick google

Some part of my post clearly didn't get through.

    More 'democracy 101'

Councillors are YOUR elected representatives, to a large extent they tell the council WHAT to do, the Chief Exec and Council Officers then decide HOW to do that most efficiently and effectively. If you don't like WHAT they are doing (building a big green flashing c0ck beside a river, for instance) then tell your councillor or stand against them. Councillors mostly want to be loved (and re-elected), if you point out to them that what they are doing with your money isn't going to get them re-elected then you'll be able to influence them.

Forgot to say too. If you don't like the answer you get from your councillor, and don't think your friends and neighbours like the answer either then stand as a councillor yourself – if you get elected them you get an even more direct say in what happens. If you don't want to get that involved then ring them up and ask when the next budget consultation meeting is and go along and have your say there.

Probably the least effective way of Influencing the actions of your council is to mumble into your beard on a mountain bike forum

Project – what did YOUR councillor say when you complained about how YOUR council was wasting YOUR money? If you want them to do something, not do something or justify something to you then contact your councillor and speak to them – that's how local democracy works

Removing fly tipping, collecting rubbish, fixing potholes, helping people deal with redundancy, getting kids fostered and adopted, care of the elderly, reducing congestion, educating all the kids in the area, local regeneration, clearing up dog eggs and litter….

So is it worth it in terms of adding stiffness to front end or not?

I see several problems with this.

    1) knackers up the geometry a bit
    2) tears the headtube off necessitating a trip to dentist and reconstructive plastic surgery

on the other hand it might be fine.

Not sure of the mechanics of doing it on a bike caliper but fellas on motorbike forums with big seized calipers used to attach a grease gun and use that to pump out seized pistons. I don't think many things resist that approach.

I wouldn't dick about like that. I'd get Humax Foxsat PVR, dual or quad lnb for dish and run some shotgun cable into lounge and obviously add HD telly. Father in law has that set up and it's very good.

Oh and try to get an ethernet cable to back of Humax box for iPlayer and all that on demand stuff.

I've had Phaons on my Soul for about 5 years. A bit tired now but very well made forks – just in the process of swapping them for some…new Rebas!

Make sure you can get your bike on whichever train. Can't think of a bigger pain in the arse than arriving at a station to find a jobsworth clippie that won't let you and bike on the train!

We had similar problem when we lost my little boy's cuddly monkey which my parents bought for him from Las Vegas!

I couldn't find it anywhere in this country and ended up ordering two replacements from US ebay!

Retraced our steps next day and the original had been found in the last shop we tried. Two replacements arrived and he didn't want to go near them as they didn't have the same covered in dribble and snot feel and smell. You might need to 'distress' your replacement to make it acceptable.

Did the Bristol 9-5 last year. Had a good time though not as 'challenging' as we'd hoped. I think the Saturday evening maybe adds in some interesting extra stuff.

Cycling was mostly on road – left Bristol, went out to Horse Centre outside Brislington(?), cycled up The Tump, down to Saltford then back in Bristol.
Bikes are the main way of moving between activities. Our non-cyclist suffered but if you cycle at all regularly you'll be fine

He is the masseur for the Spanish national squad and he rides his bike every day, or he did when I knew him. He still goes to the Track Worlds and World Cup events. And he gives a good deep massage too.

    Happy ending?
