If you don't GAS about niche or cool then you've gotta be looking at some flavour of On One I would think

Only sensible way I found to do this was to set up multiple users on the same PC this lets you have your own version of iTunes more easily(and your own pr)n stash – brucie bonus!)

There's a difference between putting something up on Ebay and actually getting that price.

Can relate to this problem to with my RR – brake arms don't quite stick out at 10 to 2 but they're worse than 5 to 11. Thought I'd got something in the wrong place when I changed pads. Got a BB7 on the front and will probably put disk on back at some point to though then think adjusting chain slack might become more of a PITA

and glue sniffing – that seems to have gone out of fashion too. Couldn't watch the telly without seeing glue sniffers in the 80s/early 90s. Suppose drugs got too cheap?

Anyone know about the scheme where you can trade in your islabike for a bigger one?

Wondering what happens to all the little ones – would like a Rothan for my little boy and getting one s/h at a discount would be handy.

Surly spacers look nice but other alternative is to get a spacer kit from Charlie the Bikemonger or London Fixie (can't remember which I used in the end) and a Groove Armada sprocket from On-One. There's enough spacers in the kit to use skinny sprockets or big wide surlys if the mood takes you – nice to have options.

I'm running singlespeed on Roadrat so got track ends – I'd try to avoid running a bike with a tensioner as I think they look gash but doesn't seem to worry plenty of other people.

CRC – the cheap ones will be 'a funny size' or anodised purple.

    richcc

Agreed – CRC used to be my first and usually last port of call. Now they are just one of more like 8 or 10 places (Wiggle, Merlin,WHS and Probikekit.)for any sizeable purchase inc.

I think CRC are trying to move beyond competing on price and focusing on reputation, marketing etc – Fair play I guess – and don't suppose they miss my £500 a year.

I'm no expert on this (which will be apparent to anyone that is!) but there were reports of Firmware updates killing jailbroken phones – it's not that Apple know about you – they just release an update which plays havoc with non-standard firmware. You apply the update to benefit from some enhanced functionality and you're snookered. There seem to be less recent articles on it – so maybe it's a problem that's gone away. DYOR

I've just read the link above and still no real compelling reason for my money (and also I'd be a bit scared of Apple bricking my phone!)

Go on then Marmite – share it with the class.

What are the pros of jailbreaking it – what are the killer apps that you can run once you've done it?

    richcc

IMHO – most of the argument in favour of jailbreaking has gone with the arrival of the app store.

Brother sold a Nintendo Wii, someone received and signed for it and then Paypal clawed money back from his Credit Card as the card that had been used was cloned or stolen. He disputed it with Egg card and they took money back from Paypal. Quickly followed by him closing his Paypal account down.

The long and short of it is – Paypal protection is not all it's cracked up to be certainly from a sellers POV.

There's a couple of groups ride around the Bath area that often stray across to Chippenham. Riding is mostly bridleways, country lanes with an occasional bit of cheeky in there. Sure someone will stumble across this and invite you out on the Wednesday night rides before long.

I think they've realised that they're operating in a market. Price of fuel, steel, £:$ all favourable and no ones got any cash. Down come the prices.

Aldi/ lidl etc or wilkos if you're in the right part of the country. I've had an aldi pump for years. Would have been substantially less than a tenner and served me well

I reported EBay & Paypal to Office of Fair Trading – got nothing back from them in the way of acknowledgement at all. I think forcing users to offer a payment system that Ebay owns is restrictive practice. But IANAL

Don’t just complain here – Give it a whirl with the OFT – http://www.oft.gov.uk/ – the more the merrier.

I thought about a 1×9 setup when I got my roadrat but kept it singlespeed – occasionally mulled it over again but having read the above, I’m now put off it by the need to attach a ‘gubbins’ to stop the chain coming off the chainring :?
