Fees on e-ebay are silly i'm sure ive read on their site they are 10% of the final sale value. Doesnt sound a lot but when coupled with payla charges and listing fees it is. To give people an Idea around a year ago i sold my stumpy on there and got almost £800 paypal and took combined £30 + £5 for listing it. More recently sold a camera Lens which went for over £450, £38 combined fees, God knows what the charges would have been if it was the same price as the bike.

Think i got stung around £30 selling my old brakes on there too 🙁 Here is better IMO look at prices of what you wish to sell on e-bay to give you a guide, knock £20 or so off stick them in the classifieds, Save you some fees 🙂

I get a piece of copper pipe, cut so far down it with a hacksaw, Flare the end and knock it out with a hammer.

Then use a few washers and a bar to pull the new ones in

Have you got a Ti Saddle? Had the same on my commuter, banging my head on the wall thinking the frame had acrack in it, Wrapped a bit of tape on the rails and its now quiet as a mouse

Looks more like a scratch, If it was a crack it'd be bigger than that IMO even if it was starting

Pop to Argos or a games shop, you can get them there or get one off e-bay (£25) You get a month free if you've just set it up

Is it the front mech cable catching on the crank arms as you do a revolution, I had an annoying clicking and thats what it turned out to be

So i need to fit my spare crown race then, I thought it was right how it was, must have been under a bit of stress to crack like it has.

Mine must be an older version too although it was only bought 9 months back from winstanleys, I thought reading the instructions back when i fitted it it was odd but never thought anything of it as it seemed normal and to go on easy enough.

Thanks for helping me out on that 🙂

I normally go off what completed items on e-bay show, 9/10 folk will normally offer a bit less, Which if its not a silly offer i'l let them have it

Rich-6 How the hell are you getting 46mpg? I've not seen better than 36 out of my 172 and that was being veeery careful! Must change these lead boots of mine

It'l do me 46 on a run i think she did 42 on my recent trip to scotland with 2 bikes on the roof and fuly loaded in the back with a weeks worth of food/ beer clothing for me and the missus, Sat @50mph all the way there 😆

32-36 is the norm for town driving and a bit of redlining down a few lanes, Its on the choke on the way to and from work too so its running very rich generaly i drive it like an old man 🙂 Lowest i've done is 23 😮 When the lambda probe went

A good engine flush and 5/40 made it more efficient i found too

    Clio 182

    1. Because they are cheap
    2. They are nastly built
    3. They are a hoot to drive
    4. It can get two bikes+ a weeks worth of gear+ food and not struggle
    5. It will return 46mpg
    6. It looks good 😕
    7. Its French
    8. Its not boring by means it always needs the spanners on it 🙂

I'd probrably go with red on teh hubs hubs and everything else black If you can spec that?

Cables too slack, the way i do it is to put the bike in the middle ring, Fingers behind mech and slacken cable off, Pull mech towards you which inturn should if you are careful allow a few extra mms of cable through, Tighten up and try again,

If that fails after a few trys i got back wind the barrels in and off 2 turns and start from scratch

I set front off the bike, Bounce front end, If it feels like its pushing against me slow it down, and if i can get the wheel off the floor speed it up.

Base setting on rear: jump on bike ride along and pop rear wheel, If i can lift before it extends speed up the rebound and fine tune down a trail if its packing down it needs to be faster.

Never gone wrong at that, Apart from i can't get the rebound any faster on my Fox rear, More air would mean my sag suffers 🙁

What is it about them you dont like, Mine are coil and like butter, always working and go through the travel predictably on a firm

Got onto hope as soon as you suggested, Got hold of Nick who was great and sent me out new olives, inserts and brass washers for the full brake.

Cant beat that for service, I was over the moon when they turned up on Saturday, Just had a great ride today 😀

Another here with the locknuts coming loose on XT hubs, Ive had 3 shimano hubs do it to me in a year on more than one occasion they havent had a hard time either 😕

I'm on with saving some cash up for a Hope rear hub instead now 8) My front hopes been a gem.

Personally i dont thing your engines nackered, That is assuming it didnt go to silly revs before you stalled it. Its just running on its own oil hence why the revs went crazy,

Id probrably say at the most a new turbo, It may be something as small as a gasket or an oil seal has failed on the turbo causing the excessive smoke

I tried this method last night and my tyre went out with a bang 😆 It sealed up nicely with the smallest hole around the valveso i took the tyre off and added a bit more tape, It worked 😀 So i blew it up a bit more and the valve gave way, BOOm tyre came off the rim and i was deaf for a few mins 😆

Worked though just me and my pressures 😀

^^ Would that apply to hopes too? My front has a slight bit of a leak on the caliper end after fitting braided lines

You can make it look a bit better by touching them in and flatting the excess laquer off after its cured depending just how bad it is, You'd need a machine polisher to bring the paint back up after you'd flatted it off though
