Mastodon at Manchester academy, then Slash in 2 weeks in the arena, then finish off the year with Rodrigo/ Gabriella because they sounded good on the telly at Glastonbury.

    Hell no !

    Stone sour – blistering performance.

Drums that thunder along, guitar riffs that slice your head off and a bass riff that feels like your in the ring with mike tyson.

And the magic of seeing bands you’ve never seen before, and if your lucky getting to see one of your fave bands live in a small venue.

Apart from meeting some friends about twice a month in the pub, its one way for me of having a reason to go out for the night, and not falling alseep on the couch watching a film.

Throughly recommend Trail addiction for a week.

It rained all week when I was there, except for the day the guides had a day off.

I watch bands regularly, relatively easy getting tix for some of the smaller heavy metal bands that play manchester uni, but like yourself you need to be online at 9am for bands like slipknot and the foo fighters.

Even gone to the extent of changing the mobile contract to o2 for the likes of a presale.

Upsets me to see them being sold on fleabay and these getmein sites by the touts, becareful thou as you wont get your tix until the day of the gig, or may have someones name printed on it, them you produce id at the arena, may even be a photocopy.

A couple of years ago, my dad died, it felt like my world had collapsed. Didnt sleep much, affected work and my health. Loved riding the bike up at Llandegla, Marin trail etc. Going to gigs, and life didnt seem to mean anything to me anymore. Seen the doctor and told her I didnt want tablets, signed off work for a month. And to be honest it didnt seem to make much difference.

I am now involved with the local cycling community with sustrans, took up jogging round the park with the c25k program, and recently became a skyride leader. So just filling up as much of my time as possible, and to knacker myself out, so I could have a thick deep sleep. I have a taxi driver as a neighbour who crashes around at 3am.

Just thought I’d share this with you. Much happier now, Manchester to Liverpool this weekend, Liverpool to Chester soon, and a couple of mountain bike hols in Bulgaria and france.

There’s a Kingsley road cycle lane here in Liverpool.

Mostly used by overweight taxi drivers parked up reading papers.

My 705 decided to freeze on me last year, its was second hand from the forum. And used the opensource maps.

Anyways I used a torx driver think it was a T4 to open the case.

Unplugged the Usb socket and took the battery out, and left it disconnected for the rest of the afternoon.

Put it all back together, and it came back to life.

Not sure what had caused it to freeze, reloaded the latest version of the maps on, and its been working fine so far.

After running a hifi from college days, and getting my first job in a recording studio, I paid a trip to richer sounds.

Tried some mission, and mordant shorts which both very capable, and suited classical music, wanted something to feed my addiction to heavy metal. So settled on these, my amp then was an old marantz, but upgraded that for the surround sound amp with the expected flat screen not long after. The TDL speakers are superb, still going strong after near on 12 years abuse, clean, punchy sound, detailed crisp riffage, throughly recommended if you can still get them.

I admire the guy for going and buying a sb66, I bought a asr 5 couple of
years ago, it was well out of my budget and riding capabilities, and its made me into a better rider. And it took two years to pay for it, rather than sticking it away in my savings account with no interest.

Derek – it was my birthday present from dad when I was about 10, kept me quiet for hours. And yes it came from Tandy, which I followed it up with a short wave radio the following year.
