Depends if they fix it in place or remove it, which depends on how badly it may be damaged. I had mine fixed back in place with a couple of ‘stitches’ at the same time as having ACL reconstruction in November. Had to wear a hinged brace for 6 weeks and couldn’t load it whilst bent whatsoever, loading straight to walk was fine.

Strava for me. used plenty of others to try them but tend to revert back to it after i find them a bit fiddly.

Heatmaps is a good addition which does help see where the path actually goes rather than what it shows on a map. When i do it though i tend to have 2 or 3 tabs open (one is the online OS maps, the other usually google sattelite) just to cross reference.

Save to strava, then download the strava app for my 520plus and run it from there rather than exporting to GPX.

Stay off the ‘top path’ (the offas dyke one), it’ll be rammed full of walkers and you’re not strictly meant to ride it.

The bottom car park is an ok place to start, take the fireroad up and go up a segment called ‘vomit hill’, its a grassy climb that sucks the life out of you and your tyres. After that just pick an interesting way down. If you’ve gone to the very top just after climbing vomit hill, then come back down the rocky section that you’ll have had to carry up (seriously impressed if anyone can ride it), thats pretty good but take it easy as i’m not sure what the right of way actually is there. Difficult to explain without a map but you’ll know where i mean.

The trails that are between moel famau peak and moel arthur are generally quieter but get a bit boggy if its wet. Trailforks actually has most of it mapped out and if you want to really go exploring then look at strava heatmaps.

Or just pick a route off http://www.flattyres-mtb.co.uk, loads available with GPX plotting.

In fact i think there’s actually a route on singletracks classic rides if you have the access.

If its something like – T5/T6 or A caddy it might be worth finding a Facebook owners group and asking there. I remember reading once there was A better matched alternative to vw silver, could have possibly been Skoda but, can’t remember for certain

Do it, if not for you but for the dog. At least you know it will have a happy life rather than run the risk it could end up on the merry go round of rescue centres.

Buy a decent vacuum cleaner for the house, and adapt. Promise you won’t look back. If you love dogs you learn to put up with their side effects and besides, the pros always outweigh the cons.

Yeah bought a refurbed iphone XS from GiffGaff earlier in the year. i bought a higher end ‘almost new’ model (they’re graded from memory)

To be honest until i’d seen the title of this thread i’d completely forgotten it wasn’t new when i bought it, certainly felt new compared to my old iphone 6S that had died a slow painful end.

I can live with the amazon ones that go straight into my inbox as i just bulk delete all the unread ‘crap’ once a week. The ones that annoy me are the ebay requests, i often just reply a flat “no” and they stop asking.

Recently had one on ebay that was a complete puddlef**k. Seller sent the complete wrong item (ordered a cargo net, they sent a wig), then when i messaged them about it they requested a shed load of information from me over several back and to’s (tracking numbers, photos, other evidence) then when it eventually got refunded had the cheek to ask for a good review for sorting it out for me.

Jumped in a week late, new to the party also as not done it before but in it to make myself a bit more accountable. Lost 5kg last summer and slowly put it back on since so hoping to kickstart it again.

Blimey, i’d be interested in the Micrometers and dial gauge! also potentially the taps too, some older UNF or UNC taps are hold to get of or damn expensive these days. Whats best way of me messaging you private? have email if thats ok to suggest?

Did it 3rd week of september last year, started walking up the pyg track about 4am and only just made it for sunrise. Mind you, it was a beautifully clear day so it was getting light for a while.
If you get the weather for it then hands down one of the most rewarding things you’ll do, its amazing.

Bought a bike last night off there, did bank transfer but thats only because i physically had hold of the bike at the time (not relying on postage). Suggest to the seller paying by paypal, work out how much it would cost and pay the extra so the seller doesn’t get the fee (DONT pay by gift). If its a considerable amount of money to risk then personally i’d want the reassurance and pay the extra couple of quid to have paypal on your side if it went tits up, you’d probably be surprised how little the difference is.

Frozen it a few times since, cleaned it out with plain old water best i can but thats it. Will ultimately get another if i have to but prefer to keep this one as its an Osprey pack to match the bag and i like the way it opens right up across the top rather than the screw lid style.

Ah yes forgot to mention, Air Pressure was still Ok.
Think i’ll have a go at Tillydogs suggestion tonight, of looking a bit more at the leak points, then if not i’ll look at the eBay service as that really doesn’t sound too expensive at all

    Cheers!

Why do people find ways to make their lives harder?

Let ’em. Not worth the stress if its someone elses problem.

Following this with interest, i’m also looking for something bike computer-y for the same reasons, i’d like to be able to download a map from a friend or a website and be able to follow it whilst out on the mtb without getting the map and instructions out the bag. I’m not too fussed on data and stats as i don’t use them anyway, but the navigation is a must.

I’ve toyed with the 530 but i can’t justify the price for what it is, happy to look second hand market though

I have a cheap (£25ish) set off Amazon and its helped me lose about a stone this year, i know that doesn’t sound loads compared to some peoples achievements but for me its made me quite happy.

I link mine to my fitbit account which is very handy because it adjusts my calorie burned figure related to my body composition etc. Using this together with food logging on myfitnesspal (which also links to fitbit, i just use it because the food database is massively larger than fitbits own) makes tracking calories a lot easier to stick to on the long run.

I quite like the history logging feature too with graphs etc.. means i don’t have to go writing anything down in old diaries only to never look at them again.

All sorted now! I rang the phone number on the letter and the lady at the other end confirmed it was a duff reading. Something to do with light bouncing off the side of the trailer (its an enclosed box type) and that I as actually doing just under 30 at the time. Shes told me to just disregard the letter and shes closed the case

I can put the Hemi back in the engine bay now! (phew)

It was me driving i have no doubts about that, i was on my way home at the time and i did travel down that section of road. The camera is a stationary one and if its the one i’m thinking of you’d be hard pushed to do 83 down there in a car unless it was 2am in the morning (it wasn’t, it was 7pm in the evening!)

they did give me a phone number for the ticket office so i’ll give them a call tomorrow just to check they have the correct info. I’d rather get it dealt with sooner rather than wait the 14 on hte off chance as its causing quite a bit of worry. being more than double the speed limit it would land me in deep s***

I can apparently request the photo evidence but i’m not sure if i do that before saying yes it was me driving or afterwards

mucked about on push bikes since a kid but never competed (bar one or two fun races which i won’t digress the terrible results). Still don’t class myself as a ‘cyclist’ but someone who rides bikes.

Was hopeless at football but gave it a go in my teens just because thats all my friends did (and annoyingly most of them were quite good)

Up until recently played rugby for the local side for a couple of years

Race Autograss (cars – look it up, its easier than me explaining) – Been attending meets since birth but raced my own car since 13-present day (27yo)

I thoroughly enjoy the concept of competition in some form or another but i think thats come from my car racing upbringing.

Thanks for the input! certainly made me think twice about selling it for the time being. You’re probably right about the value of a 26″ bike now but i’ll guage interest in what i’d ‘like’ to get for it and if nobody nibbles then i’ll keep hold till i really need the money.

Llangollen is probably your best bet.
Look for Abbey Farm, its just after the horseshoe pass on the left of the hill dropping down into Llangollen town itself.

Llandegla is around the corner if you have the bikes with you

Abbey Farm itself has a small bar, or if you fancy the walk into town its not actually that far to go, walk along the canal and take a torch if you plan on heading back late

Yes! done it a few times. And in fact last year also stayed on the rugby field you mentioned.

The roads are okay if you stay aware, don’t be an idiot and generally have twenty eyes in the back of your head and you’ll be fine.

Take an OS map, and mark the TT route on the pages to get an idea of good routes. The viewing spots are endless but one that i would suggest would be..
Go over the road from the campsite to the Qbridge pub,(presume you’re staying inside the course on quarterbridge corner?) There is a small access road that then runs parallel with the TT coarse behind a stone wall, that only goes so far before cars cant get any further but carry on along the course, (think its marked out on OS as an old railway line). If you carry on along there you can pick out loads of spots on the course as it goes quite far, personal recommendation would be to stop off at the Railway pub at union mills and get a beer and watch the bikes from the beer garden that overlooks the course.

Take a radio, be on the ball with road closures and you’ll have a blast! take a padlock too just incase.

BoardinBob, bit OT but how do you find that 12V ‘power’ washer? i’ve got one that is so poor i don’t bother taking it , but if your’s is okay i might give mine another look to see if its blocked?

I was smoking roll ups daily, and straights when i’d go out for a drink most weekends.

I have managed to quit them entirely, but now tend to use an e-cig (the ones you can buy that aren’t refillable) when i’ve had a drink.

Perhaps it may be different for other people, but i tried the jump a while ago and struggled to make it stick, mainly because there wasn’t the same satisfaction from the e-cig as a normal cigarette. This time the difference was i managed to quit completely for a fortnight before i picked the e-cig up, meaning by that time the e-cig was a “better than nothing” substitute.

Since that i’ve managed to stick just picking it up in desperate times of need, don’t really bother with it most of the time.

Theres free speech, then there’s naivety.

Holding an event which will of course bring friction with it, and then leaving unarmed security officers as the only form of protection. Who thought that through?

Only one I had that made me laugh was in fact on the mountain bike.

There’s a short section where the walking path crosses the mtb trail (or other way round whatever) at Llandegla, (up by the lake)

Little old lady and her pooch were on said trail once, as i had to slow down to avoid running over poor Toto that was causing mayhem off the lead (this was at the end of a long uphill for me, so i was probably painfully slow anyway) she shouts in my face “This is a walking trail you know!, not for you ruddy bikes!!”

Sorry love.. what?, you clearly missed the signs then did you.

In fairness i’d of probably understood if it was a particularly fast section, but its really not.
