I saw the vodaphone ones getting good press. Now I assume they are locked to vodaphone, but can they be unlocked?

I quite like Uberbike Race matrix. They seem to last a while and its £30 for 4 pairs (well it was last time I bought some).

I rate the MBR at CYB, thats my fave trail there. Not sure if its particulary suitable for complete beginners but there is a lot of fun stuff on it. Is the Tarw Du the old Redbull trail on the original side of the road? If so I did it a bit ago and it was a lot of fun. Its only about 10km if I remember rightly.

Marin and Penmachno are different but both good in their own was. Marin in about 25km and a bit more gentle then the shorter Penmancho (never done the new loop so not sure how far that is). Pick one and ride it, it will be fun whatever.

Me too but I think it is. Its a sad day. He was awesome and well respected and well liked.

I have looked for more confirmation but nothing. Its only just appeared on instagram. I did spot a comment about a possible Moto crash but google will not provide any more info!

It’s not done yet. 20th February. Can’t wait. I’m pretty much sold on the aeris just need to try different sizes!

You can pick up a decent Dh on pinkbike and a new bird aeris or similar for about 2500,£3000 and you will get really well spec’d pair of bikes!

I picked up a spec status for 700 a few months ago and its awesome!

The nomad is nice but is it nicer than having 2 different bikes?

Thanks for that. Is the Red an add on to the Blue or a separate trail that starts somewhere different?

A heckler is a good choice. Does it have to be a Santa Cruz? I went from a Heckler to a Remedy and I find the Remedy a lot better. Its pretty much as fast as my Dh bike was on stuff like Snowdon and climbs really well. I want to go 27.5 and am debating whether or not to as its great.

I had the last model one for a bit. You can ride it up hills but like xyeti says a Heckler would be a much better option for trails and any kind of hills. The Bullit is pretty much a freeeride bike and is heavy. The Heckler is a trail bike and much better suited to trails and much more comparable with a Nomad in respect to what its designed for.

To be honest I didn’t really like my Bullit. I got it as a DHy bike, which it most definitely isn’t, and found it too steep and short. My heckler on the other hand was a great all round trail bike and highly recommend one!

I took them both out to the alps on separate occasions and rode pretty much the same DH trails on them and there was not that much difference. The bullit was a bit better but there wasn’t a whole lot in in. For the Peaks a Heckler should be great!

    Yeah that one.

I want to sell my 26″ before long so wasn’t bothered about spending a lot on tyres so got that one just before the CYB enduro in November and it was really great!

I have a Saguano (or something) on my Ht and again, thats great!

    Same location too.

I used MM and Minions on my DH bike and a combo of Minion front and Geax Lobo Loco rear on my Trail bike.

The Geax are cheap. Plus its always the rear that gets slices so I am happy to spend less cash on a rear. The loco Lobo is actually pretty good (which is more by chance than anything else!).

I second the MM being draggy but since its on my DH bike its ok, was great in a very muddy revolution bike park recently. For Blaenau I would probably go back to a minion front and rear combo. I actually run a Geax rear Tyre on my HT too and its pretty good.

Like I said I bought them as they were cheap and looked ok, turns out they are pretty good. They come off the On One website.

Come and do the CYB Antifreeze in February.

I did the keilder 101 on my HT and if I were to do it again I would take a full suss just because my ass was ruined. It wasn’t hard riding as such but I know I would have been more comfortable on a full suss. Any full suss really.

If you are not used to long long rides take the most comfortable bike you can get away with.

I think it depends on what you want to ride when you get out there. If its just hammering the DH runs then get a beater DH bike off pinkbike and sell it or keep it. There are a few interesting options for around £5-600. If you want to trail ride as well then take your own bike.

I bought a cheap but decent DH bike to use out in the alps etc but I like using it in the UK too so it kind of makes sense for me. Plus when I do go to the alps its to ride the DH runs as I am not so concerned with getting the miles in on the other trails.

I have done Morzine twice once on a trail bike and once on a freeride/DH bike. I much preferred the latter. I would rather take my own bike than rent when I was out there.

I had a pair but I could not get on with them as they rubbed really badly on the top of my knee, I think it was a combination of my leg shape and some coarse stitching. Don’t get me wrong they were lovely pads and very well made, just didn’t suit me. and my knobbly knees!

I went for Sweet protection Bearsuit light ones in the end. These suit me much better but both pads have ripped at the stitching on the velcro strap and as I got them on ebay I have no comeback!

Oh one more thing, all you did was ask the LBS to return the post to SRAM for a service? Thats all? No returning for warranty problems or anything like that?

    rhid

Thanks for all the info. I’ll drop it round to the local shop to get them to send it to SRAM. Funnily enough it is one of the few things on my bike that I actually bought brand new from a real non-internet shop. That will obviously mean I will get charged full price for servicing and parts!!

That’s interesting. My post is about 3 years old so wod assume it’s well out of warranty now. Will drop it off to the shop I bought it from and see if they can sort it out.

Ok, nice on thanks, I think I get it!

So once its downloaded to the USB, then I can install W7, then I can Install drivers from the USB onto the nice new system? Is that about it?

the drivers are in a EXE format so when I want to install I can just click that, right?

    THanks for the help,

To make it easier for me I have got a new windows installation disc and product key. So do I need to format the computer and then install the new copy of windows 7?

Is it as easy s that or do I need to do more stuff?

My computer is an Asus X53E and it mentions somewhere that I need to download all the drivers for this too. Does this happen automatically?

There are so many guides on line thats its really confusing. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good, simple one for a beginner??

    Thanks

I should technically be able to roll back to w7 as its been a week since the upgrade. However every time I try to roll back nothing happens. I have searched for w10 updates but there aren’t any to download.

I will try a factory reset. If I do that, will it go back to the original w7 or stick with w10 as is installed now?

I look like a postman in mine.

You can fit loads in them and the back seats can be completely removed. Reckon you can fit 2 bikes in whole easily without taking the seats out but I have not tried as yet.

Even though I look like an old man driving it, I love mine.

I’m currently trying to go back to windows 7 as per above but all that happens is I clicknon the go back to w7 tab and a blue screen saying “getting things ready this won’t take long” appears. And that’s it. Nothing else.

After a while the computer stops doing anything and goes to sleep. There is no progress!

Any ideas? I’ve been trying to roll it back since 6pm!
