Right, I will set ti to default and see how I go! The Text app is really only for my mum too! Whatsapp for everything else!

    Thats good to know!

The phone is not quite set up yet so once I activate the sim on the new phone any texts I get should be routed through the google app..??

I have washed both my shuffles numerous times and they are still doing strong.
I don’t think I could find anything better for running.

Yellow Jersey seems to be quite road orientated.
Tracey – Having spoken to them did you get the impression that they are good to cover a week of DH laps?

I did read the policy stuff and it make no specific mention of mountina biking, just general cycling…

I think I still have some Sunline V1s @ 711 if you want them?

Drop me an email if you do.

It needs more dragons and white walkers. Preferably fighting each other. That is the only acceptable outcome. Well, that and everyone living happily ever after but somehow I doubt that will be the case.

Thats good then, thanks for all the help.

I supposed I better top the front up with sealant too since I am now so pro at tubeless tyres!

It was set up tubeless, so put sealant in via the valve pumped it up sloshed it round for a while and now it seems all ok.

I have noticed that there appear to be what look like damp patches on the wall of the tyre. I noticed something yesterday and this morning there were more of them. What is this? If I had to describe it I’d say it looks like moisture is being forced out of the tyre wall, but I have no real idea if this is the case. Its all over the side wall and near the rim.

I think my parents donated mine to charity when they did an attic clear out. Well, that or put them on a bonfire. Mine were all biology one but were 20 years old so probably not that current!

If they are older editions will they still be desirable?

Yeah I’ll investigate the leak thoroughly before faffing with valves and sealant.

I have not been messing round with washing up liquid yet! Thats tonight’s job.

The tyres are High roller 2s on DTswiss EX1501 rims. I have ridden the bike a fair bit and did the Macavalanche on it last week with no obvious signs of air loss.

I’ll put more sealant in and take it from there. Can someone point me in the direction of valve core remover or is there only 1 type? I am assuming there are about 100 different types as something as simple as a removing a valve must be super complicated.

Another vote for the 2XU T2. I picked up an ex demo/hire one for about £75 a few years ago. Did the job the few times I used it!

I’ll sort out my footage and post it up and maybe you can see yourself overtaking me too! there were a lot of comedy wipe outs (quite a few from myself). I’ll check out all the pics. I definitely had a OTB in front of a camera man and I hope he caught it. A swan couldn’t have done a more graceful maneuver.

I think it was the most fun event I have entered, certainly the most scenic and the most mentally challenging! Like I said next year I will be prepared……

I did it too, first time. I didn’t do well 145 out of 190 but I loved it! I lost so much time sliding round in snow and had so many offs on stage 2 I seriously thought I would pull out after that point!

I will deffo be back next year with skills, bravery and a mud tyre. I cannot wait, its worth the 14 hour round trip to get there!

I will check the RAR website for pics.

Please put up the pics! I filmed stage 3 on my go pro. Watching it back it makes the course look pretty tame and my riding look like I had just taken the stabalizers off my first my little pony bike (which is a fair assessment of my riding on the day).

We had 4 cats between myself and my GF (2 under 1 year 2 about 3 years) when she decided to get a dog (collie saluki cross). At first they all hated him but slowly 1 younger and 1 older came round. then a while later the other older came round too. The other younger one never really forgave us and eventually never came home.

Since then we have introduced 2 kittens at different times and they all get on fine. Dog is bottom of the rankings and regularly gets owned by the younger cats but its his own fault as he follows them round like a stupid shadow!

It took time but really once one cat decided to be brave then the other did follow…We gave the cats plenty of space and fed them away from the dog initially but them moved all feeding into the kitchen and they basically followed the food and they developed some sort of relationship with each other (the dog loves then they don’t necessarily love the dog all the time).

I use my 410 for riding. I like it. I had an edge touring before it and it was ok but I just endlessly stared at it thinking how on earth I have only done 2km when my legs feel like its been at least 20km all up hill. At least with a watch you have to make the effort to look!

Obviously if you are using something for maps then my point is irrelevant…

What are the £50ish synthetic budget options? I am after one for the very same thing as the OP but don’t want down for the reasons outlined here.

I am after something with a hood too.

I have reverbs on 2 bikes one with ispec shifters one without and it works much better on the non I-spec bike. I run it under the bar between the brake and shifter on the left.

On the I-spec bike it does sit a fair distance away from its ideal position, its not too bad but not perfect! With a bit of wiggling you can get the reverb remote into an OK position, but its not perfect, or even pretty good. Just managable!

I am not doing it this year but have done it 6 or 7 times in the past. I have done the Ard Rock All Mountian challenge twice too and can safely say the Dyfi is a lot harder. However, its not a race so just take it easy and enjoy it (if you can, its tough)….

In the end I went for a Superstar NW chain ring and got an MRP AMG guide.

Went for the AMG as it has a taco bash too and my frame has a low BB so figure its better to be safe than sorry.

Hopefully no dropped chains for the Macavalanche now!

What top guide would you recommend?

I had a Blue Pig X for a few year and loved it. Sold it to try a 29er and wish I hadn’t. Got a Slackline but still miss my blue pig. If I could find a Blue Pig X in Med I would be really tempted….

I got the halford equivalent of the coleman event shelter. I have used it a few times and its great! Was about £90 whn I bought it. I don’t know if the coleman one is much better quality but for the few times a year I sued it (normally at bike races) its well worth the moeny!

The Bruni run was just immense. Its good to see someone really pushing Gwin as up until Bruni’s run he looked untouchable! I Don’t want to like Gwin, but I kind of do. I agree that Ratboy was looking fast, fast like only Gwin and Bruni looked on their filmed bits so he must have had a bobble or something!

I hope this will lead to a good season. I want ratboy to win as he is in my fantasy team but would be not disappointed to see Bruni do well to…

The new long and low is great for some people (like me) who have short legs and long monkey arms. I am 5″6 and on a medium Aeris and it feels wonderful. Its just another option which makes sense to some people and less to others.

My new bike feels much better all round than my old shorter one, more comfy climbing and descending. Not that the other one was bad, this just feels better.

    Like Podge said…

I ran a standard Shimano 22/32 double with a 11-34 (9sp) cassette on my Ht which I used for road commuting duties for a while but eventually swapped it for a 10sp 22/32/44 11-36 and find the higher gears on the triple a lot better for the road. Off road I only really use the mid and occasionally the granny though. Thats just my preference.

I am always disappointed when I go into a bike shop to look for a new jersey or shorts or whatever only to find that the only option is black, sometimes there is black and dark black, but usually its just all black.

Somewhere where sold something with a bit of colour would be nice. Fox, Raceface TLD and Dakine are expensive but at least they offer you the option of something different.

I think One planet adventure in llandegla is a good shop. It has bit of everything. I know it has the market all sewn up as it is at a very busy trail centre but every time I go there I see something that I would like to buy. Or maybe I’m just attracted to bright colours.

I have a 34/11-42 (via e13 expander) to fit to my bike soon. I run a SLX mid cage mech. With that set up is it likely I will need a longer B screw?

Has anyone had success with a goatlink? I thought about a rad cage but the goatlink may be a simpler option.

I have High rollers front and rear. May go for something dual ply on the front and hope the rear is ok…..

I bought a new bike and its tubeless and I am completely clueless about it! I am not even sure I know how to get a new tyre on!!
