Wiggle will arrange for collection. I assume its because they have good arrangements with couriers who can safely deliver bikes etc, not just any old courier company who don’t!

I have written letters, been assured by wiggle that someone is dealing with my request for a collection and will call V12 later. All bases covered. Hopefully.

I think I will do that you know. At least I will be covered in real writinng on paper (as opposed to emails).

yeah its probably getting quite close to that number at the moment!

I have given them my phone number, email, postal address, pager number. I think i am coming across as a bit desperate! WHY WONT THEY CALL!

Call back won’t work either as they will not assist in cutomer services issues! Good try though.

I cannot use the live chat in work!! I tried, something about not wasting time on the internet and doing what they are paying me to do….I hadn’t considered the call back option though. That is a very good idea!

I would hope that they have registered my intent to return it so maybe a bit of leeway on the 14 days would be good.

With regards to Distance Selling Regs, does the 14 days (for example) start the day you place the order or the date you recieve it? I am trying hard to return something now (not to on one or planet X in this case)and the 14days is up on Saturday. however the order took almost a week to arrive. The item needs to be collected etc between now and Saturday too!

It was a great event! First time riding in that part of the world and loved it.

Does anyone know if the results of the All mountian challenge are out anywhere? I cannot find it on the Sportident website!

I watched it. Not as good as swamp shark or Jersey Shore shark attack but it made me giggle.

I just looked at the Hack 2 link and that is a brillinat deal. I only paid a bit less than that for mine and the spec is not near as good!

I have a Hack 1 and its great. Not ridden any CX on it but its a great commute bike and i did the Etap yr Eryi mawr on it recently without too much fuss. I reckon if oyu put some knobbly tires on it it would make a great effort at CX or gravel bike or whatever you want to call it!

I got it to make my commute a bit easier and it definately worked. i did put a 11-30 cassette on the back as have a few killer hill to negotiate! I also changed the original brakes to BB7s and it made a good difference.

    I cannot recommend them enough.

I recently got a Cyclo Mio 100 of crc for under £54 (topcashback and discount codes made it about £48). Its pretty good for Strava and can do lots of other things too which I have not really explored! I like it. Pluis the battery last a lot longer than my phone’s.

The Marin trail seems pretty quite during the daytime these days so I cannot imagine there would be anyone to bother you at night.

I had a CAAD8 for about 6 months, it was my first real road bike. TO be fair it never really struck me as anything special. It was a few years old but still!

There is also a Synapse Alloy 105 for 780ish that I looked at too.

Part of me says just buy the budget one, its lighter and more useful for longer rides than my current cxy bike. Ride it for a year, if I really get into it sell it then buy something more better. However part of me is saying – well if you are going to spend 500 then xyz bike is available for a bit more and its got better this and that bits on it! What I want to know really is what would you do and why??

The Agree looks like a great bike, it could be the one I go for.

I will bear what you say in mind and go back and have another sit on things, its difficult not having that much experience on these things and both bikes felt fine! I had a pedal on the turbo trainer with them and I didn’t come away thinking oh that one is too small or too big!

Im definately leaning towards the 53cm one. My current road bike is 543mm tt and i run that with an 80mm stem so the 535tt with 100mm stem should do the trick!

    Thanks for the info,

In the meantime I have found a Cube Peleton on Pauls Cycles for 500 new and looking at the Planet X RT-58 Alloy for 600 new with Full Tiagra. Makes the 400-450 for the defy look less appealing.

I will continue to look and see whats about, if anyone has a smallish roadbike for sale then please do get in touch!

I figured it would be carbon fork, alloy steerer too. Its worth more consideration then. There are 2 on ebay currently, a 2011 one and a 2013 one. I will see how things pan out. how much do they generally go for 2nd hand? They are not That expensive new (approx £700) so i would assume they would be selling at the 300 mark??

    Monkeychild –
What year and how much did it sell for if you don’t mind me asking?

I think I will just call up one of the Giant stores and ask them, they will know right….

    rhid

It is a 2013, I found the bike archive on the giant website and again it says its the Advanced Grade composite material so I don’t know!

The seller says the bike is stock and the pics show the frame and fork matching! Its no big deal I would just prefer a “Carbon (or whatever the heck the composite is) fork as opposed to a Alu one.

THe Defy 3 is the middle of the range, but if the man says its Alu then i suppose I will take his word. The copy and pasted spec list from the Giant website said it was composite, hence the confusion!

That is a good proce for that Defy, however I need a small.

I know! I need a bacon sandwich and a coffee after every ride.

I like then both equally! If you are in chester for a short while you could probably do them all and then see which on you like the best?

Rode the Marin saturday for the first time in a fair few months and it is a great trail, but very old fashioned as in it has no tabletops, skills areas, cafe or any facilities! Still a lot of fun though.

that is the plan, Its just I need a few pics of peoples set ups to see how it can be done with or without fixing the shifter to the brake lever via a matchmaker or similar.

On an episode of Life behind bars, the Brendan Semenuk video series, some guy turned up on his motorbike with his DH bike strapped to his back like a rucksack! I thought that was very clever. I think it was in season 2…..I cannot be more specific. Its worth a watch though as its good fun. Its on Redbull TV.

I had an offer on my house! Its been for sale for 5 months, 2 viewings, last week of contract before moving to another agent and there has been a low “offer” made. I am not convinced its genuine!!

I just sold my DH bike. All this talk of them is making me want another one. With regards to 2nd hand Socoms you do hear a lot about them cracking. There are a lot of other brillinat deals out there so it may be a good idea to look elsewhere first. i find myslef looking at budget builds on Pinkbike a lot!

I have 2 sets of Hope Vision 1 lights. 1 set has been perfect but the newer set has been nothing but trouble. They have been back to hope once for an issue and now they are turning themselves on whenever they feel like it! I assumed they were haunted so not sure whether they need to go back to hope or I should give them to a priest to excorise.
