I never really understood what the Factory part of the Trek Factory Racing meant (or any Factory racing part of any team). Is that the riders are paid by trek to ride their bikes and receive direct support via Trek mechanics, transport etc?

So in the Athertons case they may just get the bikes and the Atherton team takes care of all the other things such as mechanics, transfport travel etc etc?

I am a bit confused to be honest!

That looks like It was filmed local to me. If so the trails are no longer dry and the sun is no longer out.

Yeah, something like that. Up until very recently you had to pay the £80 upfront so chose not to and paid the £6 per month for the film bit. I’m not upset by it.

I have amazon prime TV only (no free delivery on stuff). Its about £6 per month. I get it via a Amazon Fire Stick. I actually prefer it to Netflix, not because of content, but I hate the Netflix App. Its awful. Amazon Prime is far easier to navigate and shows you new stuff. Netflix makes you look for things.

The weight looks decent, I reckon my Remedy and my Ht are around the 30-33lb mark too. I have done plenty of long rides on them.

Its the deal on the Enduro that has really got me interested.

    Thanks for the replies!

Its not specifically for the Dyfi, its just if I had one i would ride the dyfi on it as it would be more fun than my HT!

I think it would be fine for my regular riding.

It may do but the deal I have seen is for the enduro not the stumpjumper.

Its not just for the Dyfi and CYB enduros. I live in North Wales so have a lot of great stuff on my doorstep which would suit this kind of bike.

I have both a nutribullet (christmas gift) and an older Kenwood smoothie2go I think its called.

One was about £100 the other was £25. To be honest there is virtually no difference in what they do! Maybe the nutribullet comes with more blades etc but I use them for the same thing and they both work pretty much the same!

I tend to use them to make my breakfast when I ride to work, for that they are great! Its usually milk, bananas, oats, frozen berries, chia seeds and super magic green powder for ultimate health….It fills me up so it does its job!

One thing – I had to take the nutribullet back due to the plastic driver which drives the cutting blade snapping. It was replaced no worries but I have never had any issues with my 5 year old kenwood one. Just worth mentioning!

You can check the summit weather outside Joe Browns in Llanberis before you head up.

its pretty mild in Llanberis at the moment, but thats no help to you!

Take what you would normally go riding in the cold with plus a few extra tubes and some more food? I suppose it depends a bit on what path up and down you are taking. Llanberis path is pretty steady and well traveled other are not so much.

I saw Tahnee Seagrave riding her DeVinci WLSN on the weekend at Revolution bike park. I would buy one of those in a second if I had the cash. The new intense does look good too.

However if it was a full on race bike for competitive racing I don’t think you could go far wrong with a Carbon Demo or V10. They may be mainstream but they look amazing and are plenty fast!

I’m disappointed that they dropped the All Mountain Challenge. My bike is not expensive enough to do a proper Enduro!

I remember reading on here about closures in November but that about it! I was hoping to get a full lap of the summit in before closures too but not 100% sure of the exact dates. Summit is my Christmas eve and boxing day ride too. I will have to do the Pendam twice then!

Found this on their facebook page.

Plus if you get time you can always nip over to the Climachx which would be a lot of fun on a 160mm bike….

You will be fine on either. NYA is a great trail.

When are you going as I read somewhere that the Summit trail was closing for a while.

I have found my laptop slowing down a lot recently, another thing it does a lot of it it keeps turning off the wifi connection on the computer. I try and keep on top of virus scans, malware etc and have Malwarebytes, Ccleaner and Kaspersky intalled.

I am due a free upgrade to Windows 10 soon. Will this help me with speeding it up a bit? Will it fix any driver issues and endless updates that my computer seems determined to install? I get the feeling that its the constant stream of updating stuff which is the issue here. Is there anything I can do to help that?

    It looks amazing.

does anyone know if there is a huge (3 year) wait between the release of the new films or a more reasonable year or so?

Agassiz run made my stomach feel funny due to the amount of air time he had.

I think he could be a winner this year. I hope so as he is a fantastic rider!

I don’t know if they intend to close every winter. From what I understand from talking to one of the guys there was that they were always going to close this winter to finish off the place (as mentioned it looks a bit unfinished in places). I was asking him when high and low seasons are so I would assume that they intend to stay open further into winter in the future as that would be a low season. It would make sense to keep it open all year round. It would have to be very very cold for everything to freeze up and I think the water circulates in the pool anyway. Its a pretty big pool.

I have a status. I am not riding it down the rampage course!

The Claw’s new Canyon “looks” like it has 26″ wheels…..however without confirmation it would be difficult to say!

I think Graham Aggassiz is a 26″ wheel rider too. Is there any particular reason that they are going 26″ and not 27.5? Would it be to do with shifting the bike about in the air? Would the different wheel sizes really make a whole lot of difference? There must be some benefit of the smaller wheels or people wouldn’t be using them!

    rhid

Yeah Cam Zinc’s on 26″ this year. Actually he was the only riders bike I could find info on!

Vink was on 26″ last year on a 27.5 Gambler.

Maybe the manufactures are keeping quite about who is riding what sized wheels!!

How many of the rampage riders are on 27.5 bikes?

I thought for that kind of riding the 26″ was still in favour?

I would go with Boxxers for all the reason Sharkattack says. They are a current fork and have a lot of life in them. I have 888 evos on my DH bike and they are great but out of choice (i bought it as a complete build) I would have had boxxers.

I had the 2012 RC version on my 224 and they were great. I think they are better than the domains. Domains are pretty heavy I think.

I went there to watch the redbull comp a few weeks ago and it was very impressive. There seemed to be a few mins wait between the waves to allow the pool to settle, but I assumed this was standard? Who knows.

Shame about the lay offs. However if closing it now and getting all the problems sorted means it will be back bigger and better then there will be more work come the spring. I think with it being the first of its kind there was always going to be teething problems. The wave it generates looks very nice, plus the facilities on site were great too. Definitely going to go surf there in the spring.

Just read this on the redbull website –

“UPDATE: Due to heavy rains and thunderstorms expected in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the Red Bull Rampage schedule has changed in order to ensure the best and safest possible conditions for both competitors and spectators. The Finals will be moved from Saturday, October 17 to Friday, October 16.”

Thats my Friday night sorted then. It looks like coverage will start at 17.30.

Cam Zink won the best trick award last year with that huge 360. His run was pretty much geared towards that. Still made it down the mountain though.

I have been watching “life behind Bars” Brandon Semenuk’s Redbull TV series on, um, Redbull TV. Its great and gives you a good idea about the amount of work going on even before the even starts. Digging plays a huge part of the event, even stuff that looks natural has been dug to allow it to flow better, be safer etc.

I love all the huge canyon jumps, people front flipping stuff, all the huge 360s down 50ft cliffs, it makes for a great event. Its the direction Rampage was always going to go. Crusing gracefully down the course is great and good to watch but when someone throws in a front flip on a 70ft gap then they deserve to win! I am not a judge though so who am I to say whats good and what isn’t. Apart from front flips, they are awesome.

Wwaswas you make a very good point! However to clarify I was staying somewhere else for a few weeks due to builders doing stuff so only needed to call in and check the house a few times. Maybe I should keep all the extra beans and milk in my car just incase. Unless I get snowed out of that too.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/weather/11864067/Britain-braced-for-long-snowy-winter-as-strongest-El-Nino-since-1950-expected.html

This is what I read. Not quite the Express but someone predicts a snowageddon this time every year and most of the time it never shows up. I work in Llanberis and last winter there was very little snow up on the tops of the hill. Pretty sure someone said 2014 was going to be a harsh one!

I was reading about the predicted weather this winter last week and there seems to be a general agreement that this could be a cold one similar to 2010. I will believe it when I see it but in the meantime I have started to stockpile beans and UHT milk….in 2010 I was snowed out of my house for a week, so if is better to be prepared!!

I bought a Lobo Loco the other day and its pretty good. Its a 2.3 and it on the back of my trail bike. did the CYB enduro and a few other trails on it and its pretty good. I also bought another one which name begins with “s” but right now I cannot remember, but looking at the website I think its the Saguaro. I haven’t use that yet but looks fine.

I think I may get a nfew more Lobo Locos as they are down to £3.99!

I have used the On One Smorgasborg too and that was ok. Seemed a big 2.35 though. Prefer the Geax one so far.

I have a older Tom tom and a newer Garmin and I prefer the tom tom. Its not as nice to use as the Garmin but I trust it much more than the Garmin. The Garmin (as mentioned) seems to have really questionable route choices where as the TomTom seems to keep it simpler and its much easier to read at junctions than the Garmin, which I find pretty hard to read at roundabouts etc.

I suppose I mean where have people gone or taken their family to celebrate Christmas?
