Sky have not bought Telefonica, they’ve announced that they’ll be launching a mobile service using the Telefonica UK (O2) network

that makes more sense, saw the headline and jumped on the wrong assumption, I never learn,

The one that’s really in the cold now is Vodafone

They’re working on a TV service now due for launch in the spring.

The big question is whether BT will re-new Kevin Bacon’s contract :)

yowsers it is all change in the mobile provider market

more to come, this is a real shake up, Sky forced into promptly buying Telefonica. Someone is going to be left out, I predict TalkTalk.

I have to say i am really enjoying Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2.

I’m really pleased you like it, I saw this live at the Royal Festival Hall when I was a school boy, most amazing experience that has stayed with me.

He’s a bit of a local hero where I’m from in Kent, wouldn’t surprise me if he’s been offered a knighthood.

I’ve read untold history books on the Tudors but seem not to retain any relevant information at all, so definitely no spoilers please.

Most welcome, thank you Caribou. Big smiles to Paul Parrish English sparrow, spent a long time tracking down this ugly duckling sample. Was waiting for some Axelrod and its arrived, check out one hour glass by manfred Mann, on a little known album called chapter three, Arp life and cozy Powell, mad drums.

Nice part of the world, I stayed in a lovely village in between Nantes and Rennes, then St Malo itself. Quimper is worth a visit too.

Best listened too on shuffle, most of it is just mind blowing, I’ve been collecting records for years and not heard of some of these tunes, keep an open mind and enjoy.

I’m in la Plagne at the moment, they seem to have the best snow in pretty poor conditions this year. I always self drive, stop over at Lyon, just bought one of those dart tags which makes the tolls a breeze.

@ jambalaya – cheers for the lowdown. I know La Plagne quite well, third year at the same chalet. Will get 1800 chair lift up and down if needs be, links up with Golf which then links you up with everything over 2000.

La Plagne looks OUVERT from 1800, which is handy because I’m staying opposite the 1800 chair lift, snow forceast on 27th and 28th and temps drop considerably -17 at 22:00 -8 during that day, forecasts can change though.

Off to La Plagne in a week, fingers crossed they have a dumping soon. Might have to pack the PS3 for the kids.
