Just ordered some badgers instead of the Hutch toros, a Ton on tyres seemed a tad excessive.

SPDs are fine, they’ll help you on the Whites Level climb, I wish I had. I’d wear pads if you were going to really cane the downhills.

I’ve seen a fair few 650b on my local trails, the small Kinesis Sync’s is 650b, looks lovely, med and large 29, makes sense to me. Lapierre 2014 AM line up looks good too.

Cheers speeder I missed that. Not sure about the grooves on the new design. Current design seem sold out everywhere, I should have bought them at the time, price put me off.

Cheers and yes a lot of money but worth every penny. A chromag surface would of been a lot more. The FF29 is lovely in the new orange, I see a lot of the FF29s on the South Downs, all smiles. 😀

Just drop kinesis or upgrade an email, they’ve just released a lot of new models, I’ve got the new maxlight sync Ti, stunning bike, tapered headtube, direct mount rear mech, bolt thru axle etc. new school Ti ht 29er. Great reviews in latest issue of ST.

@ soma – I don’t really do road bikes but that is a looker.

The climbs out of Jevington never feel that gentle to me, especially pentlands. I better grow a pair before I head to Lakeland 🙂

Some decent off road loops around woldingham and north downs way, and bridle paths around warlingham and happy valley near coulsdon. No GPX but I could mark up some Os maps. Road wise there titsey hill and north downs around oxted.

@ tomaso – thanks, yep that’s good old eastbourne, some great riding around, not quite Lakeland. That wasn’t you i saw in friston with the bouncy devinci and full face. Did you find all the trails? Would love to take the sync to the lakes one day.

Depends on weather, race kings are slick for off road anyway, if dry then I’d just keep them on and adjust tyre pressures.

Shame the Sync doesn’t have the short chainstays of the others

You wot? 43.8 is pretty short, Solaris is 43.5, Yelli is 42.4.

I’ve done Woldingham (nr Croydon) to Eastbourne, NDW – DL – SDW. Nice ride.

You need a Ti Kinesis Maxlight Sync. Set up for a 120, short and siff backend with DT Swiss bolt thru and direct mount mech. When I’m not riding this bike I’m dreaming about riding this bike.

Unfortunately, I then turned the wrong way onto the SDW at the top of the hill at Beeding and took everyone on an unnecessary collection of steep climbs all the way up to Devils Dyke

That’s the only fun bit. 😕
