You need help? I spent an hour at work on google images looking for a man in too much body armour.

You can never have too much kit, now if I can just find my carbon multi tool and workbench.

    Get a room people…

Isn’t a case of having one rucksack that they use for all situations, emptying a bag of stuff just because you’re spinning around for an hour or so is a pain, plus you forget to put said stuff back in, which is even more of a pain, especially when you need that spare tube, ipad or can of stella :D

Yeh, £7.50 a month if you already have broadband with them, you get the box free though, and films On Demand, they’re not free obviously. I’ve been impressed so far.

For years I thought dogs could play snooker and smoke tabs, but really all they seem to do is eat babies and lay stinky eggs for my tyres to roll through.

What’s worse than finding dog eggs on your tyres? Finding them as you’re putting your bike on the car rack.

I love animals – they’re delicious. Koreans have got it right IMO.

My son is playing it now, pretty damn awesome, I pre-ordered on blahdvd.com for £49.99, they’re now doing for £34.95, feel a bit mugged tbh. I hear Tesco are doing it as a loss leader, not sure how much though.

aracer – thank you, that’s very useful. I assume youth was on your side, I’m 40 pretending I’m 18, I’m going to talk this through with the surgeon. Can I ask what the physio consisted of?

You’re probably spot on Love Tubs, unfortunately it went undetected for several months, then I was in a splint for 3 plus months, then I thought what the heck and got back on the bike.

Thank you for the advice Docs, re: activities of daily living” fortunately I’m right handed and the fracture is on the left, saying that I’ve been in a sling with a fractured clavicle for six weeks.

doctornickriviera – thanks for the good advice, and yes I’m seeing a hand specialist.

Sorry foxyrider, yes of course bone graft.

docrobster – the pain is more of a niggle, feels weak when I lift heavy objects, such as my 3 year old. I’m seeing a consultant but doesn’t seem that keen to the op.

The scaphoid has a very poor blood supply so the bone dies, hence the need to graft healthy bone so a union can occur, usually grafted from the hip.

DT78 – re: scaphoid, had to cancel the wrist appointment due to the same reason. Again, been told by others and my consultant to avoid surgery as it requires a skin graft from the hip and a screw to keep the bone joined, not a great success rate, poor blood supply, seriously thinking about putting up with the pain, I also hear steroid injections could be needed. Will I ever learn.

    Good luck.

DT78 it really depends how slight the displacement is, if the gap is too big you’ll end up with a lumpy joinor a possible drop shoulder, I had quite a nasty displaced clavicle 12 weeks ago, I had a plate fitted which will be removed in 6 months, I was back on the bike 8 weeks after surgery, still stiff and painful but my shoulder is straight with no lumps. All I need to do now is fix my fracture scaphoid.

Been running DMRv12, Shimano DX and Easton Flatboys for a few years, all of them great pedals, the DMR’s squeek like mad if you don’t grease them on a regular basis, DX’s bearings are very smooth but I find the pins a little small, Easton Flatboys are a good solid pedal but big and a little heavy, I’d probably go for the flat boys though. What I would say it get a decent pairs of shoes, I’ve had the Shimano AM40’s and the sole has been shredded to bits, going to give five tens a try. And be prepared for a few extra holes in your shins and calves.

Did you consider the Lapierre Zesty? I test rode the Blur LT but choose the Zesty 514 because it just made me smile more, super quick uphill too. There’s some good deals out there on the 314’s. I hear you can’t go wrong the Orange 5’s though.
