    DS would be perfect.

pcb – There pretty robust too, most 5 year olds wouldn’t loose or break it.

R.lepecha – variety is the spice of life my friend, my boy enjoys his DS and PS3, but he bloomin loves his mountain bike even more. And while we’re on subject I see a lot of overweight men on bikes, probably me included.

It’s not just the calories lost while exercising.

There was a programme on a while ago and they hooked a bloke up to some machine that measured how many calories he burnt on a run – he used something like 17g of fat.
Over the next 24hrs he stayed on the machine & he lost a further 50g or so from raised metabolism & recovery.

Yes – and we all giggled like school kids when the “facilitator” started talking about my bosses personality being down to his “P-ness”

We did de bono’s hat too – management consultancy tosh twaddle nonsense – IMO.

Don’t think lapierre had any issues selling there top end of the 2010 range, 514s. 714s and 914s sold out back in April. I should imagine Whyte are the same – where to people get the money from? Are Whyte Ti bikes made to order?

Demo days are dangerous – tried out a 514 and within hours I was phoning around the entire country trying to find one in my size, luckily Nivarna got the last one from hotilines. No regrets though.

Dibbs – how much better would you say the Ti is compared to alloy? Seriously thinking about a Ti HT with 140 travel fork, also looking at charge duster Ti and the alloy santa cruz chameleon just because everyone who’s got one seems smitten. I do like the idea of a UK bike though.

As ogg says thetford on your way past, there’s a coastal path that takes you all the way from sheringham to blackney/holkham I think. Actually I seem to remember there being a big park in sheringham.

Gutted for you – what utter scumbags. A ground anchor with a abus granite lock and chain is worth the investment too.

Yes, I fractured and severely displaced my clavicle this summer, I had to have surgery to have a plate fitted because the bone was almost and compound and was never going to knit. If yours does knit and they usually do, you’ll more than likely end up with a lump just where your rucksack strap needs to go. I think my plate is irritating a tendon or nerve which can be painful, but I’m back on the bike, I’ll have surgery to have the plate removed in January.

Definetly take your bike, some great xc to be had, aim for woldingham and north downs way as leggyblonde suggests, you can link up a lot of bridlepaths and singletrack from riddlesdown, fairleigh, chelsham, woldingham, chaldon and caterham.

leggyblonde – I’m local – I’d be up for a night ride, when?

    anchovy?

Not sure anything grips wet roots, unfortunately.

Out all morning on North Downs so lots of flinty rock and slippery wet chalk, good riding.

No, a light flat pedal with am40s or 5 10s will feel super grippy, keep your heels down and I don’t think you’ll notice the difference. You might fall off less, but I doubt it.

Tried the tubeless mud x’s last night for the first time, the conditions were very varied, lots of mud, steep and loose bridleways with horse tracks, dry gravel, leaved covered woods and tarmac – they performed amazingly.

Litter is giving mtb a bad name, I’d like to see all the cycling mags and shops get together and do a campaign raising awareness, it’s disgusting and poluting the environment. If you can’t put the empty gel wrapping in your pocket you’re a moron.

deffo HOME and Follow Me (great music), reset films also do a skills based dvd called Dirtschool. agree with iain1775 about FIND, some stunning biking but a lot of talking and empty landscape shots.

Lifecycles looks cool, some screenings next month

Agree with hels: 80 miles a day on a bike will kill you ! That’s seriously over training, you’ll be constantly tired and your gf will leave you – hang on a minute :D
