Get rid of the swampthings and try locking out the forks and rear on the climbs, higher saddle height will make a huge difference, although if you’re cockpit is a bit tight then a longer stem too – are you sure you got a big enough frame? Apologies if that’s a stupid question?

What’s the local riding like as far as climbs, decents and singletrack. Was at Lullingstone at w/e and thought the darent valley must have riding potential, in-laws live in Bexley and rode over Joydens before, seem to remember heavily trodden bridle paths – did I miss the good stuff?

Thanks for the advice, I’ve just had the cast off and in a rigid splint for 2 months. so I guess we’re looking like 3 months. I had a similar incident with the heart rate, just before surgery.

IanW – I totally agree, throw in some factual music docs on BBC4 and cookery progs and that’s enough TV for me.

If you do want to over analyse then actually the TG trio are actually very good comedy actors, the way they set up the pranks is both entertaining for a 6 and 60 year old. TG hasn’t been factual for years.

I’ve currently got a collarbone plate and hook which is very uncomfortable, not had a decent nights sleep since I did it back in June, luckily it’s being removed on Thursday. I’ve also just had a bone graft and screw fix on my scaphoid (wrist) bone, cast being removed today. Fortunately the bone graft was from the radial and not the pelvis, I’ve heard that’s very uncomfortable. Can’t wait to get back on the bike though.

AM40’s have a lace cover which keep your feet pretty dry.

Those CRC 30 quid shimanos do look pretty ugly, so do the AM41s.

AM40’s are worth it, super grippy with DMR V12’s, be quick though, they’re discontinued.

Can’t recommend AM40’s enough, sad to hear they’re now discontinued, AM41’s don’t look as nice IMO. Pedal wise I like Easton Flatboys and DMR v12’s, the new DMR Vaults looks nice too.

Seriously have a look in your local rag, we got a guy round who sprayed it with some heavy duty cleaner, think mr muscle x20, it was in a right state but he left it clean as new, cost about £50 though. If you want to have a go yourself though try bi carb
