Mojo recently did my rear and front 2010 Fox’s, I went for Kashima upgrade, very impressed, well worth it. Buying new forks just seemed wasteful. They fitted new decals too :)

    but I’m a tart….

me too, I’ve just fitted one of these Funn Hyperion Ti seatposts to my Kinesis Sync. The clamp mech is a bit on the heavy side but clever design and rock solid. Feels as smooth as carbon with less flex, I have my posts on the 400 limit.

I do a similar distance, I built up to it though. I used to do 5 days a week but was a bit of a tired and grumpy dad at the weekend so cut it down to 3 days, sometimes 0-2 depending work commitments and gales.

Sounds like you dived straight into the deepend, why not just commit to 3 days a week and aim for Sevenoaks, then Chelsfield when your naturally ready.

Do you have to stand on the train from Chelsfield, that would do my head in after a 15+ mile ride, asking for cramps too, you must be a sweaty mess

Itford Hill + Bad fog + exhaustion is quite an odd mix, you start hearing the voices of distant iron age settlers ramblers

I’ve done this ride a fair bit, if I was parking in Eastbourne I wouldn’t bother faffing about with the train to Brighton, I spend the time doing a nice SDW loop around Jevington to Alfriston and back up to Lullington Heath and then explore the singletrack in Friston Forest, IMO some of the best bits and the SDW and Forest trails.

Er, rain is the least of your problems if there’s a 30mph headwind, then your talking pedalling downhill and doubling your time. All good fun though.

I’ve done this a few times, I’d park near the old start of the Eastbourne end on Paradise Drive, ride down the hill to Eastbourne station, To be honest the drag up to Devil’s Dyke ain’t that bad, or you could go up cyclepath near A23 and pick up the SDW at Pyecombe. I’d pick Devil’s to start for the Saddlescombe decent. Falmer would be a good shout too, start with a bit of Stanmer singletrack.

It’s definitely to go to place if you like arthouse, classic and music docs, just wish I had more time to watch films, they’ve got Ginger Baker, Pulp and Sex Pistols films on at the moment. And Long Good Friday.

@eddiebaby – I’m feeling so emotional I’m willing to except your apology :) I was OK until they did the slideshow then my hay fever really kicked in.

Harveys one is good, I’d check SDW website for any local diversions.

DrP, is it for the Tripster? I was looking at the Funn Hyperion Ti on CRC, but is Ti on Ti just a bit naff though?

Well my £120 Easton EC90 cracked. The newer offset model looks a better design.

Eddiebaby, your entire sentence and forum name is like something out of a teen US movie. I’d start watching decent films if I were you.

Kinesis Struts are very good, better than my havens, but they’re 710 anyhow.

Yep, gonna be emotional. They’ve done a homage to the pharrel Williams happy track to show at the leavers assembly. My boy is ready to move on so a bittersweet experience, roll on summer hols. :D

Osprey Escapist 25, it as an airscape back support that does a great job. I had the swiss gear one above for years which was great but find the osprey distributes the weight much better. I sometimes carry a 17in macbook pro, power cables and change of clothes 15 miles each way.

I was riding Eastbourne end of SDW friday night, storm came in earlier than forecast, the lightning was pretty intense, had to seek refuge in the 8 Bells in Jevington.

    flat bars rather than drop

only last week I asked Dom if strut bars would be a good idea, with shorter stem maybe. Always like the flat bar Cotic Road Rats.

There’s not much more on twitter, just that teaser pic. Twitter is very useful for all things Kinesis_UK :) That’s how I first found out about the Sync.

Bum is now firmly planted on sofa awaiting Thai takeaway and a beer .

well deserved, god that beer will taste good. Not much cover from the suns heat on the downs, let alone the wind. Hats off :D

The Gemini is lighter (easier to get on the roof) and made in East Sussex!

that’s right, got mine in newhaven here http://www.brighton-canoes.co.uk. Great selection, the guy even dropped it off on his way home. I recommend paying a bit extra and getting back supports and bungees for the paddles, easy to drop a paddle if you’re fishing or faffing about with kids. A wet suit too, can get cold if there’s a wind off the sea.

I recommend blackburn pannier and a co pilot seat, used with both my boys, they used to sleep in it too. Then upgraded to to mountain trek trailer when they got older.

EDIT: 6 months sounds young, can’t remember what age we ventured out.

I faffed around for year with various splints, nothing worked so now have a titanium screw in mine, I know a good surgeon in London. He lectures on scaphoid and wrist injuries. No issues with mine now, not sure I’d do press ups or chins up on it though.
