How long does the meeting last? Someone finds it useful.

I rarely go to meetings but when I do I usually make a fool of myself. Maybe that’s why I don’t get invited to meetings very often?!

What’s the midge count like? I’m heading in a similar direction soon.

I’ll be comparing my driving statistics as well!

I watched a fair chunk of the race on tv today. hopefully I’ll catch the highlights for the rest of the race week.

A reasonable win of £200 from 3 prizes. I feel as if I will need to ride the depreciating interest rate wave for the next few months by reducing my pb holdings. I’ll then return the cash to pb’s once I’ve reached the interest rate threshold in the new year. Quizical face emoji.

Will there be lots of snow in the mountains around Easter time? If there is it might be difficult to visit early on in the season?

I’ve never been to the area but that’s the impression I get about the weather.

Lots more good advice and funny stories above.

So far the 2 kites have cost less than £30. I won’t rush into upgrading or expanding the collection until I have success with what I have to hand.

Being competent at flying would be a nice skill to attain. I like the idea of the focus that it takes and the control they need to remain in the air.

Thanks for all the extra advice. I will concentrate on the line length. I hadn’t thought about the stretch in the lines being a factor so I’ll see how I progress with the current set up then look into alternative options.

It seems like it could be a cheap hobby and I’m lucky enough to live near a few parks with a decent amount of open space.

Thanks for the replies. I will aim for better line length accuracy next time and watch a few more videos.

I will persevere. The kites are going to be a permanent future in the car boot so they should get used if it is windy.

The value Aldi baked beans are my go to. Value spaghetti hoops also from Aldi are fine. On toast with brown sauce and mustard and occasionally grated cheese.

Not in a million years am I going to spend lots of money on vanity beans and spaghetti hoops!

NC500 route for my distant podpoint/Tesco options just incase my CPS options are limited/broken/no internet/card not arrived.

That said there are 3 osprey chargers at JoG which will probably be my chosen fuel up in the evening when they’re is a 20% discount using the electroverse app/card

but why the hell do you have to pre-credit them?

Because they make money out of it!

I’ve recently topped up my pod point so it has £5 credit in the account. The app was suggesting that it wouldn’t start a fast DC charging session unless it had a minimum of £5 in it. AC charging didn’t need a minimum account credit, I think?

All just incase I visit a Tesco carpark far away and charge the car whilst buying food.

Saw an old seatpost in half lengthways then clamp the halves around the damage with some jubilee clips. Any gaps beneath the seatpost splint can be filled with an appropriate filler if needed. Paint the repair orange. Refit guards, go for ride.

My new hobby is charger station watching. Well the ones I’m going to visit in the future anyway. I never watched petrol stations in the past as there wasn’t an app. It’s a bit like watching for the prices to drop in online shops, I think?

I’m going to attempt more activity. Last night’s biking was harder than it should have been. Mywhoosh has been updated for some indoor biking.

I have updated the mywhoosh app so I’m ready to use it. There seems to be a few more routes as well.

I’ve just looked at the Tesla app for chargers and it seems as if they have opened a charging station at Gretna. It wasn’t on the app last week when I was planning for a trip north of the border. The appearance of the station means there is sub 140 mile gaps between stations from where I live to Inverness.

A few more stations have appeared elsewhere in the UK so that makes it much cheaper for me to get around.

I changed my cable + had an update and my android auto is back working! Cable was the problem for me.

I think I’ll try and take a drive past the Toby inn tomorrow between cheap charging on the agile tariff.

    Agile tariff here.

    No heat pump.

    No solar.

    Battery car.

If you choose agile become competent in varying your demand. At the moment I’m heating my house for no reason other than negative pricing.

On agile I’d be manually controlling my heat pump. Turning it off and on when the prices drop and the prices increase. The heat loss would be minimal, I think?

Reduce the system temp by a few degrees?

Last April I used 480kwh of electricity and it only cost me £5 + standing charge of £0.50 a day. Max out when the power is cheap, suffer a little when the power is expensive.

Agile tariff is great. If you are willing to adapt to the daily changes.

I installed a front and rear red tiger camera 4k version. Hasn’t been used in anger but seems to work when I’ve accessed the content via the app.

I might buy another camera for another car at some point. I’d make sure it had a Sony starvis chip in it. As for all the names I know I recognise the Sony brand but usually not the camera brand.

Android auto in my Ioniq has in the last week become unstable. Worked fine prior to the last update from Google play store. Now it fails to connect quickly via a previously working cable.

I blame the update. I’m sure a fix is coming soon?

Try another mapping app and drive past the pub to see if that crashes the android auto?

I once listened to a story about an old crt TV that caused interference with modern radio signals. Maybe someone near the location is using an old unshielded piece of gear that screws the reception in the area?

I’m looking forward to some cheap charging over the next few days thanks to the remnants of a hurricane and the possibility of some sunshine on some solar panels somewhere in the country. Agile tariff and a 3 pin plug.

Radio in the ioniq is ok. I’m no audio expert so not to fussy.

I’ll be using mywhoosh this autumn. I had a brief go on it earlier in the year and it seemed good. Not had much time to use it since.

100kw motor is plenty for the 99.8% of driving that I do. Occasionally I’ll use the normal driving mode and I might engage sport mode on special occasions.

I thought the Americans were against the Nord stream 2 pipeline from the start of construction which led to a mid build delay then finally completing the build?

No-one seems to miss it at the moment and the however many billions on build cost is largely forgotten about in the grand scheme of things?

I bought a tub from home bargains and tried to form a routine where I would add 5g to a pint of water and drink it every day. Drinking an extra pint of water would be beneficial for me and the creatine maybe an added benefit.

I haven’t formed a routine yet. I might give it another try.

Mine was a Holux GPS 245? I think?

The Holux software on the pc might have been the problem as well as I think the data points were taken from the device and then displayed on the PC via the Holux software which might have lost their Google maps licence?

Either way the device stopped working and I’m pretty sure the GPS chips were the problem as they couldn’t display the correct time and therefore unable to find their location?

    retrorick

You are lucky your GPS unit works? I ask because I had a gps device from that era which was a great device Holux data logger but due to a change in the way the satellites sent their info the unit didn’t work. Something to do with the chip set in the device from that era. I think?

Why wouldn’t you agree with the police officer? Climbing on transport infrastructure isn’t a good idea. It hasn’t been designed to take a load of people on it?

Are the batteries being standardized by the EU? If it is the case that they are I’d hold back buying anything until the new models are released.

I’ve recently begun a binning mission. I’m slowly recovering space from junk that was in the house when I moved in and stuff that no longer has any use. Empty boxes for products I no longer own. Old bike parts that are obsolete and worn out. Tools that I will probably never use again are being condensed and stored in tool boxes. Paint tins to the tip. I need to go through my clothes, I don’t buy many but then I don’t wear half of the shirts that I seem to own.

It’ll probably take me a good while to sift through stuff then sift through it again. I guess I’m looking for clarity with the junk I keep?

Are you local to Ribble cycles? How about Merlin cycles or Evans offerings?

I don’t have any experience of either but I’d buy the one with the largest discount and the one from the nearest physical shop.

Do the team track bikes have different gear ratios? Relating to the rider and their role in the event?

It looks as if they all ride the same ratio?

Would there be an advantage for the rider who starts off and doesn’t need to finish to have a list gear to get the team up to speed and the sprinters at the end a bigger gear to attain the higher speed at the end?
