I’m 13.5 and find the firm too soft (around 40% sag when standing) …

I think that there is probably a bit of variance between any two springs of the same weight tho.

How much for the Pike X-Firm spring?

I use Juice 185 rotors with SLX brakes. I use the Avid 160-185 adapter, and the Shimano bolts (no conical washers). Fits and works perfectly.

Just make sure you keep the fork horizontal after taking the uturn cap, bearings etc out otherwise you’ll lose all the semibath oil out of the lowers! :-)

have a google for a free app called ‘peer gauardian’

Only blocks suspected IP ranges, the investigators could run their logging tools from any IP they wanted to. All they have to do is connect to the tracker and they can get a list of all the IP addresses in the swarm.

will ti bolts make my 35lb bike a 22lb racing snake?

No, you need carbon headset spacers too

I always find 20-30% sag measured when sitting is far too much. I like mine to have about 30% when standing.

I use my SLX brakes with Avid 185 rotors. Seems to work perfectly well even when the discs are hot.

I use the Avid IS to Postmount adapters (not sure if they’re a different size to the shimano adaptors or if the avid calliper itself is a different size?)

My Pro 2s came out of the factory with lateral play in the bearings. Not best pleased to say the least.
Having said that, the aftersales service was good.

Over rated, Crap battery life and fatigue, A company that like to hide problems under the carpet rather than deal with them face on.

Spec to £ is totally over rated.. compare spec by spec to any pc alternative in that price bracket and you will see.

The crap battery remark is completely wrong – I have an almost identically specced Sony Vaio and Macbook, and I get roughly half hour more from the Macbook (full brightness on both screens etc). My father has a 3 year old one used on battery every day which still holds it’s charge perfectly well.

The problems-under-the-rug thing I can agree with, mine has a cracked case too which seems to be a design fault they refuse to acknowledge given how many I’ve seen with exactly the same fault.

As for the price, obviously you’re paying for OSX development which is worth it IMHO.

I get about 4mbit down and 768k up, on my alledgedly up-to 16mbit connection from Sky.
I’m quite a way from the exchange, however until they artifically limited my line recently I was getting 5 or 6.

i like my meta 5.5. Pretty standard build: pikes, xt, hope on 719’s, high rollers. I think it weighs 34lbs. Seems quite heavy! nice ride though. Does attract MBR types though; can’t go to a trail center without peple commenting on how there not stiff and the head angle isn’t the same as the ’07 or ’09 []

I have almost exactly the same build. It’s a beast! It picks up speed a little too easily tho 8O

Back end does feel a little flexy when the wheel is rocked by hand, but I can’t notice it when riding.
The only thing I really don’t like about it is that the paint comes off fairly easily (mines an ’08). Oh and apparently it’s a bugger to replace the main bearings on the ’08 model…

Yes very easy if you have the right tools*. If they’re new though, i’d just send them back.

    * external + internal (I think) circlip pliers , 5mm allen key, deep 24mm socket. 110ml of 5 wt oil for the damper, 15ml of 15 wt oil to replace the semibath in the lowers.

I have adjusted the compression dial with hex key on bottom of rebound adjuster and they still go solid after about 30 mm travel…. my conclusion is they are what’s commonly known as shite !
Any other ways of tackling problem ??

Ok, let all the air out of both chambers on the left leg. On the top of the right leg is a blue dial (this is the compression adjustment), if you turn it to fully open (anti-clockwise) and you still can’t move the fork, I bet you have a dodgy seal in the damper.
If this is the case the damping oil will have run out into the lowers and left no room for the stanchion to move into.

Let all air out of -ve chamber at bottom of left leg, let all air out of +ve chamber at the top.
Put air into +ve chamber until you get desired sag, then set the -ve chamber to the same +- 5psi to get the desired feel.

Also, make sure compression dial is not closed :-)

Did you install any Microsoft updates around the time it stopped working? Some of them change security settings, but I’ve not heard of them changing that specific thing before.

Sorry I don’t have the answer, but there is loads on google about this eg:
