I bought one of the 853 anniversary Inbreds back in 2007? and I did have a few issues with chainring clearance. Carefully indented mine using a socket and a hammer and just rode it. The chainstay finally went 5 years later, I probably didn’t help running 22/36. Still liked it so much I had a Ragley style 3 finger bridge fitted to replace that part of the chainstay and I am still riding it. It’s morphed in to my monstercross / bikepacking / adventure bike
My wife still rides one of the older Inbreds (cables on top of top tube) which she loves.
Had a Pompino for a while, that was ace but SS was too hard for me :)
I’d buy another steel bike from them, maybe not carbon though
