    latest reply from trading standards??

    Dear Mr Hetherington

I have read through your email.

Unfortunately with civil complaints, such as these, I do not have the powers to force the trader to offer you a particular remedy. Windoorcare have stated the door may have been tampered with and from my conversation with Windoorcare they did not appear to be willing to offer further rectifications.

In order for me to progress the complaint and provide further assistance, if you feel the faults with the door are inherent, you could consider whether to obtain an independent report on the door. If the report is in your favour I will then be able to go back to Windoorcare since I would have a report, which shows the fault to be inherent. Obviously this is dependent on you and if you wish to obtain a report. We do have a trader register, I have given the link below. It may be worthwhile having a look on the register as someone on there could provide you with an independent report on the door.

    http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/home/wcc-trading-standards-traderregister

I feel at this point without an independent report I cannot go back to the company. I hope the above is of some assistance.

how much does a report cost then roughly

i work on the site where the battle of edgehill took place !! which is about 7 mile from banbury.

over the road from me are the dasset hills which are ok to ride.

i have found a couple of trails in the woods below the castle pub (ourmanin thenorth might know it.)

other than that i would stay on a road bike!

    thanks for that tooo tallll….not

i understand the system fully thanks.

the last eye test i had (in fact the previous 2) the opticians filled it in for nothing so i just presumed this was the case in specsavers.

i wish i had just filed the form in myself afterwards to be honest.

sootyandjim….. no castle around here me old.

    sooty and jim

i work on a civilian site who dont have a clue really about all this military stuff, we are parented by brize though which is about an hour away from us and to be honest didn’t really think about asking about local recommended opticians i just got it done at my local one.

like i said though i have no probs paying it but feel for the amount of time it took her to do it was a bit of a rip off

ive got no problems paying for it as someone has quite rightly said i will be able to claim it back on jpa(even though admin are moaning about it) .

my point is that sh wrote less than a lines worth or writing on an a4 sheet of paper and charged a tenner for it.

i wouldn’t want anyone military or not to pay for the “extra” work involved ffs.

should of considered the title a bit more really before posting i guess!!

extra work to means something different to me i think.

i too wouldnt mind joining up with your group kona one sunday as i love the wyre but can never seem to find the decent tracks like!!!

i mean if you go over that bridge muddy puddle is on about and up to the right (i think they have tarmaced one of the routes, we normally stop by an old house up in the forest for a drink , i noticed a track just down the hill in fornt of us which was pretty good!! never seen it before and ive been riding there for at least 8 years!

would it be worth getting a 2.5 and sticking that on the front and putting my 2.35 on the back??

im using Fenwicks wet lube which i got cheap and have noticed that its quite sticky stuff so that might not be helping!!!

ive done the frame mod using a ball hammer and it seems to have give me a bit more clearance.

    fingers crossed

    renton

count zero ,you really need to read the whole thread
im not saying the frame is the reason im getting chain suck but because of the clearance issues between frame and chainset when you get chainsuck it is tearing the frame apart.

now i realize i need to have a look at my drive train and see if its worn im looking for some sort of way of preventing it happening on the inbred as i happen to really like the frame!!

i already run lx ht2 chainset with external bearings and have steel inner and middle rings.

Brant is obviously aware of the problems people are having with the frame as he has now changed the design and put a “dent” in the frame where it occurs.

    renton
    Free Member

my inner and middle ring are deore steels and fairly new so they aren’t the problem.

i don’t get suck under load ,only when cruising along under no pressure and it sucks like a whore earning her money!!!

drive train is probably a year old.

going to hit my frame with a **** big hammer see if that will cure it

i was led to believe that i had one of the newer frames (08 model)

if i was to “modify” the chain stay using a lump of wood would that help or am i likely to damage the frame even more and weaken it??

ive tried wedging my chainstay protector down behind it but the chain just cuts through it??

the only other thing i can do is move the spacer over from the bottom bracket so i have 3 on the drive side?? is this a good idea?

ahh there you go it might be the conditions!!!

ive spent the past 3 years in cyprus where i never seen any mud , it was all dry, dusty and sandy trails!!

now im riding places like cannock and the wyre forest which at the moment are proper mud fest!!

im always nervous going over roots aswell

prehaps some more riding to get confident in the bikes ability might be in order!!

i treid loads of different stems and seatposts to get the length right on the 18″ but i just couldnt get the saddle postiotn right with regards to foot position on the pedals (knee over pedal spindle etc) and i was getting a lot of knee and lower back pain which made me think it was too small.

the seating position is fine on the 20″ it just isnt as flickable and handles like a barge.

i have the newr style inbred frame which is ok for forks upto 5 inches.

i also run the forks sagged to 100mm

    wierd isnt it??

could it be im not used to moving a bike around without the need for spds??

the problem is that there is no inbetween size in the inbred frame range??
