    Unbelievable

Everyone knows that you can’t ride a bike on a beach without a 4.8 inch wide tyre.

Isn’t most of Nukeproof’s stuff from other companies? Is this a whole new design?

Pay upwards of 40% more for the stealth edition, but make sure the logos are just visible enough that people know how much you’ve spent.

Otherwise, I find that electrical tape (get a 50mm wide roll and a couple of 25mm for the details) is a cheap and easily undo-able solution.

It’s not bizarre. The established pattern is:

    Overstock on Hawaiian shirts.
SALE! Buy a tubeless tyre, get an inner tube half price.
    Move warehouse.
SALE! Forks! 50% off RRP (RRP correct as of 06.08.2041)
Special edition based on overstock of one colour of bar tape/saddle.
FLASH SALE on 6 finger gloves, 102.3mm bcd chainrings and 28.56mm seat clamps.
Send promotional email by mistake 2 times. Send apology email 3 times.
Employ Brant/Dis-employ Brant (this one also depends on the lunar cycle)
    Yellow….add lots of yellow.
    SALE! – The _____ season has started/enduro, ____ now only 110%!

    Repeat.

    Try reading the thread.
    We post up a route.
We post up the pace for said route.
We remind the group just prior to starting.
We remind everyone to keep tight.
The guys I’m talking about didn’t finish the ride, they sloped off leaving us to wonder where they were. So I couldn’t talk to them.
And I got the answer from cynic-al, so I’ll announce no group racing prior to the next ride.

    I did read the thread.

The rider is failing to abide by the rules, either he doesn’t understand or is purposefully ignoring the group’s wishes. Ergo, a failure in communication as a group.

    Club riding sounds great.

Instead of going out for a ride, which should relieve stress/clear one’s head, it results in the need to file a bad behaviour report to the internet.

You are not communicating as a group so why ride as one?

I’ve seen a lot happen on singe carriage way NSL roads. With a dual carriageway there is an theoretical 10mph increase in speed but no un-sighted bends, decent junctions and no overtaking into oncoming traffic/cars getting (as) infuriated. Time it right and it can’t be much more dangerous?

You could look at axle to crown height, rather than looking at differences in the increase in fork travel. It’s a far more useful measurement.

I think my Crosslights must have been pretty close to the claimed weight, a few grams here or there and that was with the (standard) rim tapes fitted. Never tried the skewers though.

Whilst researching, I read that 25mm was unofficially ok, I think some magazine had asked Kinesis.

I can’t say that I expect any corners to be cut for £250; a Stans Crest/Hope wheel set weighs and costs slighty more, but that’s a wider rim with heavier hubs from ‘better’ brands.

No weight limit for the bike but weight limits for entering certain race categories, if the organisers decide to impose them.

Manufactures are always going to make bikes that the market can afford, so price will dictate weight, common sense with dictate ridablity.

Ah, I’m the foolish one. Must have zoned out during the endless variations of frame/kit/build.

My sealed bearing bottom bracket rarely seems to stay sealed for long, god knows what kind of mess I’d find in a gearbox. Doesn’t seem overpriced for a carbon frame and a lot of the drive train. Think it’s foolish to promote an XC style hardtail without mentioning the weight however.

For me, the brand will always be tarnished by the notorious Ammanford KTM Chicago theft of 2013. Too many painful memories.

Fat bikes are really simple, the tyres replace the need for complex suspension systems.

The link remoterob post above also lists 2.1 tyre (bottom of the page). Have they updated this since he posted the link?

The On One site didn’t mention it last night.

If you buy it from On-One, the problem goes away!

No doubt they’ll have a batch of 2.1 inch tyres labelled up as 2.4 in a warehouse somewhere, so problem solved.

Top end has never been cheap. If the market is prepared to pay for such products, then there is a place for them.

A 1995 Rock Shox Judy SL would cost the equivalent of £550 today, with a mighty 63mm of MCU elastomer travel. Think of what you can get for the same money today.

Carry on the tyres will provide enough insulation

It’s only travelled a mile through the air, 25mm of rubber ought to be enough to stop it.

I don’t enjoy the marketing angle, but I like some of the bikes that these niches produce. They tend to have many more uses than the original niche and are a useful way of considering other approaches to the norm.

As above, you won’t see it coming.

Tyres made of a material able to change shape with the application of electric current.

    Brakes that recover lost energy.

Intelligent frame materials that become compliant on demand, or change various angles; we’ll wonder how people used to buy bicycles by the inch.

Seems insane to me to allow the swapping of bikes when it’s predictable that such an allowance will increase the number of vehicles near the event.

you need a retro chrome crank and a chrome stem and seatpost

    I agree with this, using the Equilbrium 20 as an indicator, but without the white tape/saddle;
