Shimano SPDs in general – we take ’em so much for granted, what a well sussed product though. They ain’t the lightest or the most glam pedal out there, but they work well and keep on working :-)

If your payments are showing as “unclaimed” to your buyers, it makes me suspect that your Paypal account isn’t set up properly. As a buyer, the only time this has happened to me recently, the seller had entered the wrong e-mail address for payment. I paid immediately and it sat as “unclaimed” for a week before we sussed the problem. Might be worth double checking your details.

Everyone must have lost at least one family member or friend to cancer at some time. It’s very easy to set up a standing order to donate every month and you won’t miss that money.

I’ve used merino made by Swobo, Endura and Aldi stuff and never kept any of it very long. I prefer man made as a base layer, my faves being 10 year old Pearl Izumi made from stuff called Xstatic with silver thread woven in. It’s soft warm comfortable and doesn’t ming or accumulate static electricity. I’ve had good experience with bamboo as well.

    Jersey was very so-so for us ~ did a long weekend last june based in St Helier. The town looks run down and scruffy, as if the recession has hit them as badly as everyone else. Pubs and restaurants were pretty average, with the exception of this place, which was great;

All in all not an island I ever see myself re-visiting.

I’d had enough weeks ago and by the time it’s finally here, I can’t wait till it’s all over and things can get back to normal. I’ve done no xmas shopping as I won’t see anyone till next weekend anyway, so shopping will be easier and cheaper post xmas. I’m in favour of it’s complete abolition – outmoded clap trap.

There have been times, when I’m flying through the air, thinking “I wish I had my helmet on” ~ got away with things a couple of times, but always wear a helmet now. It’s not just the life and death thing – a helmet can save you all kinds of abrasions and flesh wounds too , things which hurt and bleed and need stitching. Give the choice between smashing a helmet and spending the rest of the day in A&E, I know which I prefer. :D

A “dress agency” in Bracknell (not sure if you’re still around the area, CG, but worth a try maybe?)

I use the computer at work to charge, it’s on all day anyway and saves me the money at home  Carrying a short piece of wire beats carrying a hefty old style charger around too. Must be more environmentally friendly to make, too.
This season, I’ve bought Cateyes – the Nano Shot and a Nano Shot Plus, I’m very happy with both for commuting and the bigger “Plus” gets used for pootly trail rides too. So far, very good.

Sunline only recalled the 31.8 bars. I’ve got a pair of 25.4 and they’ve been great for years. Could the OP put some pics up? (even then, might be hard to tell)

Another vote for yes. When I was twelve years old I must have read it half a dozen times – loved it. Omega man always seemed a reasonable adaptation though by comparison it’s very “light and airy”. The Will Smith film? Forget it!

Yeah, you’ll have no problems with this. Best upgrade you can make to a retro mtb is modern rubber ~ works so much better than the old stuff!

Even I’ve heard of Merry Hill, and I’m a 130 miles away!
But as a Bracknell resident, I too can confirm their existence ~ they’ve entirely taken over
My tactic is to stay put and pretend I’m one of them.

I wouldn’t have been so trusting with someone I don’t know. He now has your jersey ~ what incentive does he have to pay you for it? A polite knock on his door and a request for the return of your goods should solve the situation.

Around four and a half years of use from my XT bb – regular hacking around the local trails and zero maintainance ~ I’m just not hardcore enough :(

There might be a grain of truth in the theory, but I’d have thought other factors will over ride it. How much you use the brakes, weather conditions and soil type will all affect how fast the pads wear more than rotor size.

A front Deore 596 weighs 296g (no rotor, adaptor or bolts). I don’t know if SLX or XT are much lighter. Performance wise, I haven’t tried the higher spec brakes, but the Deore is pretty amazing, especially when you consider the price.

Every wheel build has their preferences. I’ve built thousands of high quality wheels for all kinds of riders. I prefer Mavic rims, but others, including DT and Stans are perfectly acceptable. I prefer DT spokes, but Sapim and Wheelsmith are also lovely. Alloy nipples? Run away!!!

I had an Aqualite for a few years. (not the Extreme, and I’m not sure how they differ) Anyway……. The Aqualite was ok, but not great. Pack size is it’s major plus point, packs down small almost like a Pertex and it was reasonably waterproof. Breathability was poor, got sweaty very quickly – it won’t stack up against your Gill Event. It’s a very basic jacket, no pockets, no fleecey collar, just elastic at waist and cuffs. Cut is cycling specific and works alright, sizing is on the snug side. I had to go up one size from what I’d usually expect to be. :-)

I’ve got an Aldi/Crane branded one in a medium that I’ve only used once – decent piece of kit. £15 posted if it’d fit the bill for you :-)

Utter madness. Roberto delivered the Champions League trophy and the FA cup and this is the thanks he gets. Chelsea go back to square one again with another new manager who’ll always be on borrowed time and lookng over his shoulder.

Crazy – it only takes a minute to pinch a bike. My hack bike gets more use than any of my nicer more expensive bikes, gets left all day in some pretty dodgy locations and no one has ever touched it. Wouldn’t leave a good bike anywhere!

Personally, I wouldn’t ship outside the UK. Partly a trust issue and partly the potential for damage on such a long journey. Whatever you decide, make sure it’s insured to it’s full value.

I saw them in 1982 – just because all my friends were going and i thought they were a band i should see at some stage. They weren’t good then; lord knows what they’re like now
