Since there’s in excess of a hundred people turning up for this ride, someone’s bound to forget something or have a mechanical. Therefore I think it’s best if I tell you about Bracknell Cycles, which will be open all day should you need anything – just 2 miles away down the A322. Yes, you can borrow any tools you need, or a pump, and yes, I’ve got loads of spares in stock, tubes, mechs and disc pads should anyone run out. There may even be tea, if I’m not too busy. I’m there all day, hence I can’t make the ride, so say hi to the trails from me. Cheers, Giler. :D

Hey, Rocketdog…. I’d pay money for one of them if you get the chance to legally liberate it! I;d need an 18″ c-t, or a 19″ at a push :D

OF the Crank pedals Eggbeaters are probably the best. I’ve worked in bike shops all the time Crank pedals have been on the market and seen enough fall to pieces after a matter of weeks to know to avoid them. Shimanos are tough as old boots, great engagement and release. If you’re having clogging problems, Time is the way forward. They still have easy and positive engagement and build quality is far far better than Crank Bros.

That’s one effing steep rock face! I was attempting (badly!) to ride that in the early ninties and know how difficult it is – that’s some fine riding there!

Oh good grief! A friend who owner a record shop (Revolver in Bristol) gave me a copy of Brain Salad Surgery which he never sold. I love it! When ever i need a damn good laugh, that’s what i reach for. I think ELP were in mind (amongst others) when Spinal Tap was written. Talented guys no doubt, but far too much coke going on.

Holidays in France and Belgium, both really great breaks from reality.
Aquiring two cute kittens in september – they’re gonna keep me busy for years to come.
2008 – not a vintage year all told; can we have a summer next year – pleeeeeze?!?!?!

Sorry to disagree! 1996 Koa if you ask me. Look at the welds where the seatstay meets the seat tube – big weld says aluminium. Gripshifts, STX group, satin burgandy paint with blue decals. Lovely. retailed at £600 in 96.

Hmmmm i’ve logged in as Reluctant again.I had been thinking of changing and the only reason i hadn’t was cos i’d lose all the “history” ie member since 04. But now, i guess we’re all starting from scratch, so i might create a new account as i’m not as reluctant as i used to be. I fancy something more groovy.
