    Perfect. Thanks Chakaping.

Just need the Director Against Having Fun to authorise it now.

    Magic. Thanks guys.

So best will be up Llanberis and down the Rangers (snigger) I’ll have my 180mm big bike and love techy DH.

    Nope.
Stopped raining before practice, by the time I raced the conditions were pretty good, except for the exposed roots.

They closed that drop on Stage 3. How is he? There were stories of some bloke in a full face losing 4 teeth, breaking pelvis & collarbone.

    £2

I’m not grumbling about the amount, just the fact that sticking blindly to the t&cs is a bit ****.

    They weren’t rude. Just efficient.

Excelling in customer service is exceeding the customer’s expectation.
Average customer service is providing the customer with what they want.
Poor customer service is sticking rigidly to the rules with no care for the customer.

    It’s not about rudeness.

I do some from an extensive customer service background so I do know what I’m talking about.

    WD40?

I assume you’ve shouted at it?

Surely if it’s been mentioned before, then there are other stupid people like me who’ve made the same mistake. Probably quite alot.

In this day and age, they can’t adjust a booking and make another transaction for £25 to make up the uplift fee? If they can’t, and with the amount of traffic they get then they need a better system!

Like I said, it’s just a minor grumble. Customer service is the important thing these days, but this example is just ****. I guess they don’t need to worry as they have no competition. Until something opens is Gloucestershire….

    I didn’t spot that number Flash! It’s been a long 17 months!

You can link up some nice bridleways if you’ve got an OS map. I’ve followed the Jubilee Trail Eastwards which is bridleways. There’s also the South Dorset Ridgeway. You can go West towards Bridport and Hardye’s Monument.

Puddletown is top fun. Essentially fireroad up and singletrack down. Much dropping and jumping.
I’ll prob be at Puddletown on Sat if I can get away.

I’ve been running a Vivid which I got from TF Tuned on my 2012 Mega.
Great shock and works really well.

I’m due to go to the Alps in 6 weeks, but I’ve found a crack in one of my chainstays.

I’m about to break down my Mega so the shock is available if you’re looking.

    Thanks guys.

I might put it off until my buddy is free and we can do the uplift.

    Might try Haldon Forest.

Great short sections of singletrack. Jumps and drops. Techy stuff. Big stuff.
Bits are sandy based so drain well. The bits between the pine trees and rhodedendran (or something) bushes will be a slippery bogfest.

    It’s great fun.

Only just moved back to the area after having been away with work for a few years I’m afraid.

If you’re in the area and need a guide drop me an email and I’ll see when I’m free.

Loads of stuff in Puddletown Forest.
Fun singletrack some techy DH lines. Gaps. Tables. Bit of everything.
I ride there a couple of times a week usually.

    Dropped the lowers again.
    Checked everything.

Put them back on, couldn’t remember if I’m supposed to tighten them up with the forks compressed or not.

Spent 10 minutes trying to fully compress forks with one hand and do up bolt with other (firm spring)

    Tightened everything up.

    Still rattling.

    Noticed brake pads were loose.
    Removed pads.

    Rattle gone.

    Clean, replace & tighten pads.

    Rattle gone.

    Steep. Technical. Sandy.

My friend who likes jumping first went on a 130mm HT.
I took a friend who didn’t jump hardly at all. He was riding a 100mm HT and loved it. He jumps now!

    Flats FTW.

I ran ex721s on my HT for 2 years, never needed looking at.

I put Flows on my 160mm FS. Lasted less than a year. Rim dented way too easily, big enough dents to stop it running tubeless.

    Now I’ve got a EX823.

Thanks guys, sounds like it’s worth a go. It was just the rumour of fireroad descending which worried me.

We’re staying in Penmachno so it’s the nearest trail, after Penmachno itself.

    Can’t wait for Antur. *EXCITED*

Just finished busy day at work so it’s a couple of pints of Guinness.

There’s a rather splendid 2007 Chateau Clerc-Milon waiting for me at home.

My route to work is 2 miles so I go the wrong way for 6.5 miles along disused railway, turn around and go to work.

I did that today too, in heavy snow. Took a little longer than usual!

It’s fairly common in buisness. Prices need to rise, they then offer 10% off to sweeten things a little. That’s common too.

I put a Chris King inset 7 in my Mega. Internal upper and external lower to fit tapered steerer

I used Chris King. Inset 7 as I recall

Wheelies dealt with mine for my self-build which for stolen. The guy on the phone went through the bike spec list thoroughly then quoted to the insurance company who transferred the money to my bank account.

Might meet you out there, we’re planning at 8am start from Worthing going t’other way.

Knackered my wrist on Weds at Rogate so if it’s feeling ok in morning I’ll be riding mincing around somewhere.

    Rogate DH on Weds.

Went down the DD Line; dropped in, round the corner over the big drop & into the gully, round the berm, round the corner at speed, over the next big drop, cleared the 3 sets of little doubles, jumped onto the step-up tabletop, cleared the last tabletop.

At the end of the run, in the braking zone, slowly braking & for no reason went otb.

Doc reckons I’ve sprained tendon in wrist. Can barely move hand. Agony. Stupid accident.

Did something similar with the most ridiculous, innoculous crash at Rogate DH yesterday. Somehow managed to stack it at low speed in the braking area at the end of one of the runs & now my wrist is killing me. Hurts when twisting so I’m assuming it’s a sprain.

Did 35 miles on and around the SDW last night.
I’d say I was going in the direction my front wheel was pointing about 40% of the time….!

Rode from Worthing to Whiteways, around Whiteways & back again in the dark on Saturday night. I was either spinning in the mud or spinning on the chalk.

Didn’t help that my inbred is out of action so I was on the 1×10 160mm coil-fed full susser with 2.5 Supertacky on the front & still running that High Roller on the back. Climbing up the dog leg to Whiteways was…….interesting……

    Red Metal 5s.

Got fed up with South Downs flint & thorns so went tubeless last year.#

Bonty Mud Xs went up first time.
Nobby Nic UST went up first time.
Rubber Queen UST no chance, won’t go up at all.

Someone I spoke to said Fulcrums are a nightmare to convert, but I had no problems.

Stan’s yellow tape & rim strip with some sealant.

When they’re up; they stay up.

I went after a load of rain last year. I lasted about 30 mins & prob 6 slips/falls.

Met a guy in the car park who hadn’t even bothered unloading his bike; he wandered off on foot, had a look, got back in his car & went home.

It’s slippy in the wet, probably the slipperyest(?) place I’ve ever ridden. I loved it in the dry.

Browns Folley has some pretty technical riding to make a 1-1.5 ride out of the centre of Bath. That would be a good start. Do you have GPS I could send a map to?

Thanks for the offer but I don’t GPS I’m afraid; I’m still in the dark ages with paper maps!!
