    Thanks for all the positive comments. A few things to learn from/do differently/think about etc;
    position of music tent,
decent bands (well one let it down and drove people off) to get people up there dancing etc,
smooth and properly angled run up to lake jump. All easily solvable.
More of a dilemma – getting approaches by certain big names/companies now so thinking caps on this autumn how best to play it, perhaps separate event(s) as it would be a shame to lose the slightly chaotic/family friendly appeal of the BBB.

Apologies for Big Maggy not being able to make it, sends his apologies, but great to see Grant Chopper Fielder there. Should know amount raised by mid-September, and again, UK Youth will put it back into cycling facilities/activities for young people.
    Cheers

Avon Tyrrell site number is 01425 672347 for any queries(office hours), I’m about if you want to drop a trailer off, but we can’t let anyone set up until after 3pm as we have other people there who are packing up and leaving. Cheers

WCA and mates hired the venue in the 1st year for their BBB party and raised £2000 for the charity UK Youth, a great result. The charity/venue has always had all risks insurance in place (inc. public liability). By the second year and this year UK Youth are getting more involved with logistics and seeing this as a great regular event for the charity where people have great fun and it raises money that is spent directly on new cycling facilities for the young people the charity works with (last year raised £4000 and was the real lever that helped secure more funding from elsewhere – UK Youth spent £35K on great new track facilities, bikes, equipment, instructor training etc). The feedback from groups has been fantastic. There can’t be many charity events you can come back to the following year and see the real difference you made.
This event is insured and risk assessed, and, there are loos and first-aiders on site of course. UK Youth isn’t a large charity with massive budgets and really appreciates all the support of WCA, family/friends, the many volunteers and those that buy tickets and attend – this year the Vice President of the charity Magnus Backstedt will be coming along with the CEO and young members to officially open the new facilities and say a big thank you to all those involved in this fantastic event.
    cheers

I can post a band line up when back home on Monday and speak to Stephen who is organising it but from memory it is:
Red India – local lads from brockenhurst/bransgore, indie stuff with punk/joy divison type sound
    Jo Oldfield – folky soloist
Foul Geese – middle aged blokes from Deptford, weird electronica with a great stage presence
Bakstreets – 2 brothers but not sure what they are like
Black Circles band – all in black and sounded like the Queens of the Stone age I re-call when listening to their myspace site a few weeks ago.

Got some great prizes lined up from new sponsors

Hi Muke – there’s a member of staff at Avon Tyrrell who has volunteered to do arty/crafty things for kids during the BBB but I know she could do with a hand if your daughter is still free

handing over the main organisational responsibilities to the UK Youth charity is already paying dividends

You haven’t got out of it that easily….

if no joy driving, someone got a cheap flight into Soton or Bournemouth last year I think, can arrange pick up from airport or train station (Hinton Admiral is the closest)

Camping fine on the Friday might (inc. in price) but please don’t turn up before 3pm as we have to wait for others to go and tidy up a bit. If you want to stay over on the Sunday night, not a problem but let us know on 01425 672347 and there will be the normal pp charge for this (not included in BBB ticket price), cheers
ps – we always need a hand tidying up the main field on the Monday morning

No dogs sorry (I work there) but I beleive Holmsley Forestry Commission campsite a mile up the road allows dogs. The site can take upto 8 smallish touring caravans or campervans in one area, £3.50 a day charge if you want leccy hook-up, chemical bog disposal place near to caravan/campervan area (no charge). Because of the area limit, do need to know on campervans/caravans and will do on a first come first served basis (call 01425 672347). Hope this helps. Keep buying the tickets, well worth a visit, the charity UK Youth are hoping to raise more this year so we can carry out more cycling improvements/developments.

For those who came last year, you’ll see what the money went on – new northshore, gravity and pump track areas in the wiggly woods which are already getting loads of use by the young people who the charity works with. Money raised by the BBB was the lever the secured funding from others to make this happen.

Good prizes being donated by supporters too. UK Youth’s vice-president and cycling team leader, Magnus Backstedt is coming along to join in the festivities. We want to see him do the gravity track on his Kuota road bike of course, or the lake jump, or the pint to pint racing…
