I got one of those Panasonic Lumix FZ something or other 16mp cameras with a 16gb memory card for £90 just after Xmas, it’s fab, light, easy to use with big screen and takes good videos too. Sorry can’t remmeber model number it’s not with me now

I probably did wrong in their eyes by over running on the ticket, I just feel the charge is OTT and a bit dubious the way they try to make the paperwork look and sound like a penalty fine to intimidate you. I felt the signage was confusing too by saying 1/2 hour free then pay for longer but then I was stupid/naive not to look at the expiry time for the ‘hour’ I bought. The paid for hour apparently includes the first ‘free’ half hour. I didn’t think I was depriving them of a huge amount of income by being delayed shopping in the shops the car park is there for, as there was plenty of free spaces for potential parkers. If I go again, I will take the advice posted here and use the Ikea car park where you can get your parking re-imbursed. Hindsight etc…

It says ‘Parking Charge Notice (PCN)’, I get what they are up to trying to sound like a police/council penalty fine. Money saving expert threads about this practice also just says ignore

Thanks for all the advice, just seen the other thread too. Was going to send them £1.20 for alleged breach of contract (anothers hour parking) and point out (despite me being dense), the signage is mis-leading by saying 1/2 hour free then list of charges beyond that etc but will just ignore and not enter into any correspondence. Britannia are a private company but are saying Parking Charge Notice (PCN) on their ticket which seems iffy.

And, I was at UK Youth’s AGM in London yesterday, it was great to hear the event get a (large) mention and thanks to all those that help make it happen,it does make a real difference to the charity’s work at Avon Tyrrell

And, I just noticed tickets have gone on sale on the website, still a few corrections needed to the site FAQs page and last years videos / pics to be added but just about there now

yep great, my next question was going to be is there someone in the Southampton/Bournemouth/New Forest area with a large or medium one to see? Where’s the one you know about? cheers

I know I know it was months ago… but thinking of getting a Swift built up soon via the cyclescheme – at 5′ 10″, 32″ inside leg, is medium the one to go for – just worried it might look too much like a jump bike or twitchy – I tend to prefer slightly larger frame, long rides, so large instead? What a dilemma, any advice appreciated otherwise a 200 mile round to that bike shop in Dorking to look at their demos….

sorry about the loos, we recognise the issue when it’s busy, we are currently fundraising (and have just got planning permssion) to build a new boathouse store/loo/shower block down by the lake where all the rhoddy has been cleared west of the lake jump area. Lets hope we can get it there next year, should do

    Clashes with TORQ 12:12

yep it’s unfortunate whatever date we go for it always seems to clash with something like Blenheim, Big Dog etc but it’s the only weekend free at AT to do it next year. Feedback seems to suggest it isn’t like any other bike event so inevitably you makes your choice etc.
We reckon if we manage the parking and camping better than we currently do, we could probably fit in 100 more people comfortably without losing the fun friendly atmosphere and it will sell out quickly fingers crossed. Be good to see everyone there again
    cheers

please don’t worry clink, we’re the same lot who have been there from year 1 and nothing has really changed. The BBB isn’t officially on until the saturday/sunday but we know people like to to turn up early. Because we have people camping there already and leaving Friday morning we need a bit of time to tidy up and get ready BBB stuff, so try and put new arrivals off getting on site till later in the afternoon. Usually 3pm is okay but our bookings staff are being cautious saying 5pm on because it is a bit manic at the moment. A few people have booked hook up sites (now full) but the rest of it is camp where you want in the designated areas, following the guidelines given out. Once the top of the site is full, we have an overflow down the bottom by the lake. I think inevitably if friends are arriving at different times they might find it tight to camp right next to each other, just have to play it by ear really. This has always been the case and most of the time people have been fine and worked things out. Please bear with us, we are trying – wouldn’t want to lose the slightly chaotic friendly atmosphere – ask for louis, wca, anne or catherine there and we’ll try and help or run off or something. See you tomorrow!

UK Youth supporting young people in the UK. As WCA says the annual Big Bike Bash next month is held in support of UK Youth and all the profit from this particular event goes directly back into cycling facilities and opportunities for young people. There’s not many fundraising events you can go back to each year and actually see for yourself the difference your money made.

Straw bales booked, proved a hit last year.
Have asked Cycling Team UK Youth guys along, not sure who’ll be there as depends on race schedules.
    Ringwood Brewery beer confirmed.
Bands sorted, no dodgy 6o year old shouty industrial types showing inappropriate films as last year.
CTC / Shoretrax bringing their mobile track to play on.
Dumbleton Park guys doing taster skills sessions on the gravity, pump and northshore areas.

Shimano mech, SRAM cassette and SRAM basic 9 speed chain work really well. Chain Reaction and Merlin always seem to have the cassettes at good prices.

    Seen this video Nick of where a certain event takes place;

    Or aluminium forks….
I’ve used these Mosso mtb forks bought off ebay on a few bikes, well made, cheap, really light. Used to be about £30 delivered but seem to have gone up a bit now. Never had a problem with deliveries or busting them yet.

I think they do carbon versions too for about £20 more.

We’ve already had the bit like Superstars where someone wobbled and crashed his bike on a gravel track, brushed himself off and did it again, except for he didn’t have bad hair and stunk of Brut aftershave

Olympic theme to it next year? Or like the 70’s series Superstars find an overall winner from several events over the weekend?
