Just got my first BMX at the weekend and I’m 46 !!

Wethepeople Versus 2011 in black and green.

Off to the pump track with my little lad, hoody and skinny jeans.

I have a pair of Vans Farlane shoes somewhere too.

Never ridden bmx before, but before I committed, I just checked the bike in the same place I would have on any other bike.

Great posts thanks – just so you know, I have never ridden bmx bike before, so as previously stated – what could go wrong?

Thinking second hand now – anyone rate wethepeople? they seem to be popular on the bay of E

    Thanks to all so far.

If I go second hand, are there any brand recommendations I should look out for?

I’m just under 6ft, so think the 20″ frame should be ok.

Got the skinny jeans, but not the skinny legs!!

    Wow…

Was looking at the R2 too. According to the exchange rate today, it makes it £1,490.29 !! Saving £500 for new wheels.

No postage cost, but is there any import costs etc?

Thanks very much everyone, I’ve gone for some single ring chain bolts using my existing middle ring to start off with. If ok, I’ll go for a dedicated wide/narrow ring.

    Thanks again

Thanks everyone – seems I was too slow to get the used chipset and axle.

Is Yetifan my best bet for the kit, or is it cheaper we elsewhere?

I ride a Yeti ASR 5, if that helps at all, but don’t see why it should.

Yeti ASR5 = awesome ride 127mm rear and 140/120mm up front. Frames reduced at the moment too.

    Goals?
I have a budget of £320 and would obviously like the moon on a stick – strong, light, fast, cheap etc.

Whatever is best bang for my buck really, but strength will be important as I’m 100 kgs

Really sorry to hear about your troubles.

I’m in Rawcliffe, so will keep a look out. My GF works in the city and I’ll get her to keep her eyes open too.

    Good luck

I’m 5’10 and a bit – ride a 2012 ASR5A medium with 70mm stem. Tested at JD cycles and purchased through them. Great bike and great guys at the shop – highly recommended. I’m in York if that helps Dickie?

Thanks very much for your responses. Alway carry a chain breaker, but wondered if I needed more that my basic multi-tool and I guess I don’t.

You just saved more some money, so thanks again.
