Yeah, it’ll be going back. It just looks wrong against the frame.
Haven’t really fully considered other options although I had similar recommendations when asking a different question.
I’ll look into it, just like the look of the carbon and wasn’t expecting a issue from past experience.RDL-82Free MemberYeah a bodge, I’m happy with that terminology! Maybe not the right phrasing but I’ll go with it.
But yeah you are most probably right. One csu suits all and it looks crap. I asked in case I’d got unlucky and ended up with some weird mash up. When CC get back to me I’ll know hopefully. Regardless I will be returning them as they’ll only get on my nerves like that.
RDL-82Free MemberThis will need more than a good tap to go on. It’s a definite ridge line all the way around and extends higher than the race so would be an issue with the bearing as well.
And indeed Yak. I’m leaning towards it being a tapered bodged at the factory. The actual csu is overly large imo.

I now adjust my order to ensure it’s DPD delivery even if it costs more and I don’t need it quickly.Of a similar vain, I won’t order if the only option is myHermes. Several items left in secure place (I don’t have one) and on ringing them up the driver can never remember where said safe place was.
Boohoo used them without no option to choose someone else for a while and the Mrs had a few items never turn up. Maybe they’ve got their act together now but for me it’s DPD, RM/PF or Click&Collect. Yodel seem better these days too.
I hate having deliveries!
RDL-82Free MemberOnly reason the NW will be used dovebiker, is because it’s already on the cranks.
Will be going 3/32 and cheers for the pointers Rorschach. I’ll check those out.
RDL-82Free MemberCheers. I seem to vaguely remember reading something about the internal ‘space’ on a chain has stayed the same it’s the outer parts that have become thinner.
Still, I wasn’t sure.
Just need to find some I like now! Any recommendations?
RDL-82Free MemberThis place has changed. Where’s all the ‘you should have gone to your lbs’ comments?!
Have used tredz twice both times it was for items listed with a due in stock ‘x’ date as well as other items in stock. Was happy to wait for everything in one parcel the second time but first order they were happy to split. They are competitive on price though.
CRC seem to have taken a dive however. Extremely slow dispatch/delivery the last couple of orders.
RDL-82Free MemberAlready got wheels and tyres. The whole excuse to build again was the fact I had some 29er wheels under the stairs!
Front tyre is a 2.3 purgatory so relatively big (imo).
I’ll look at some other options. I used to have an exotic on the old 26″ SS so kinda just went straight on there to look. Weight never been an issue. More bothered about being out again now and I always enjoyed singlespeed so it just feels right to go back to it at this time.
RDL-82Free MemberYeah I think I’ll just go with the 465/470 tbh. I know it’s never going to descend like the Mega did but then I’m not after that. I just want a nice SS to get back out and play on the trails and get the buzz and love back that I lost and the one bike I regret getting rid of was my old SS so hopefully it’ll do the trick…just need to stop over analysing everything!
RDL-82Free MemberHmm cheers for the input people. Food for thought. See I was thinking 490mm because slacker and less twitchy and because the last bike I had (I’ve had an 18month period of nothing after losing heart) was 150mm slack ass full suss but I want to go back to where I started several years back and am at a bit of a loss!
RDL-82Free MemberCheers. Now then do I want 80mm effective and quicker steering and better climbing or 100mm effective and slightly slower response and slightly ‘better’ going down? Would I even notice?!
Can’t find much thoughts on 15mm vs qr rigid forks. Resume the 15mm will be better in corners etc but again would it really be noticeable?
More pondering.
RDL-82Free MemberHaha. So we are either both right or both wrong then!
I guess a further question is has anyone got experience of either length on an Inbred and how was it?
RDL-82Free MemberAh, perfect thread at the right time. Haven’t rode for one reason or another for 18months and have decided to go back to what got me excited to ride again several years ago, an SS just with slightly bigger wheels.
Nothing fancy but a start…
RDL-82Free MemberiPad for me although happy with the mini vs air/pro size.
Had a mini2 which I gave to daughter as we were given Samsung Tab’s by work. Ultimately prefer the iPad. Just works better for my use so have just picked up a mini4.
Depends on use but for me I do everything on it, bills etc and unless I was getting a Google Nexus or whatever that came with good/prompt updates I wouldn’t bother with android again personally.
Although if you want it for kodi etc then failing jail breaking the iPad you need a mac and some messing to get kodi to run so then android wins.
RDL-82Free MemberApt timing this as we have just added another dog to the family and are now considering insurance.
Have always gone with just paying or considering the big sleep but with two the potential to really hurt the savings is higher.
Had a look on PetPlan amongst others and they seem a lot more expensive than everyone else in most case nearly twice the price and seemed to be quoting per dog whereas the rest where just quoting combined with yearly maxes being similar.
Is that normal for PetPlan? How are those of you with them and more than one pet being covered?
Animal Friends seem the ‘best’ so far on comparison basis. More research to do.
RDL-82Free MemberDoes the British Cycling members’ 10% discount apply for tools, too?
The discount applies throughout the store on everything. Small print iirc says not to be used in conjunction with other offers. Easiest way around that is click and collect but pay in store.
Only ever had one shop assistant say the discount was bike only but I just showed them the British cycling site which says otherwise.
RDL-82Free Member28 days (4 day week with 4 weeks of that entitlement pre rostered for us each year. We can swap amongst ourselves however) plus an extra 2 for Christmas and Boxing Day as the network shuts down. Get an extra 4 days in January as reward for putting up with 15 years of crap shifts!
Bank holidays are salaried so if your booked to be in then so be it. Can’t remember the last one I had off tbh.
RDL-82Free MemberLates all week with a 2.25am Christmas morning finish, but then 5 days of food and drink and most definitely no work, so I’ll cope :-)
RDL-82Free Membertoo common, had to give santander’s security team a row recently for wanting to id check me over the phone, on an unsolicited call, by reading out whole 16 digit number from my card.
Had similar with Natwest a few years ago. Private number rings introduces as fraud team then proceeds to ask for name, dob, address etc. Asked them to give me some info first to reassure myself, they flatly refused so ended the call. Rang the fraud line myself and it seems they were genuinely trying to reach me, told them they have a funny way of going about it. Very different these days so maybe they’ve seen the error of their ways.
RDL-82Free Member6’2″ with 34″ inside leg. Got an XL/20″ fits spot on. Don’t feel the TT is particularly long and the L would have been cramped I feel. Again that’s on a 2014 model but iirc only colour schemes changed. Great bike.
RDL-82Free MemberUsed to get away with 2.3 specialised purgatory on my 2013 model, was very close though.
RDL-82Free MemberCopytransmanager for a nice simple transfer tool. Doesn’t even need to be installed of you pock the zip download.
RDL-82Free MemberI’m with BT and every time I connect a new device to the router for the first time before it’ll load any web page it will ask whever I want to apply filter or some such and that if I do it will apply to all devices and not just that one. Have never turned it on so can’t comment on if it works but BT definitely have something in place.
RDL-82Free MemberIs the router broadcasting on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz and with the same name? We had all sorts of trouble with althe idevices in the house with our BT hub with that setup.
Although if you’ve updated to ios9 wouldn’t rule that out as my Bluetooth has decided to constantly disconnect since the update so possibly some bugs to iron out yet.
RDL-82Free MemberThink it’s luck of the draw on who you ask. I needed a nano sim as only had micro. On EE shop wanted £10.20, asked in another to double check and was given one there and then for free.
Always best to ring cancellations/retentions/upgrades or whatever it’s called and speak to them. The deal I got was advertised only when logged into my account.
RDL-82Free MemberIf your within 90days of the end of contract EE will let you ‘upgrade’ and that includes to sim only as I’ve just done it with two contracts. Don’t know what your usage is but I got 4gb and unlimited calls texts for £13 each.
RDL-82Free MemberDon’t all kids think they are hard done by compared to their friends?!
The girls will always choose being outside versus gadgets however the eldest two where given the freedom to use their devices at will so long as homework etc was done first and that they didn’t take the pee. Didn’t last so we restricted use which caused the whole so and so can do what ever they want, your just mean, blah blah stuff.
We had a one month blanket ban, unless needed for school work, and they now get an hour during week per day, and a couple at weekend. If they choose to spend it on the computer then there’s no Xbox or tablet afterwards. We will give them extra at times, say if they are on computer learning stuff instead of games etc.
Tbh since restricting use they have used them less anyway of their own choice.
RDL-82Free MemberTrain Driver, (started as a carriage cleaner then conductor)
14 years later and I still enjoy it, plus it pays well enough (for me anyway!) shame about the trains being as old as me and the silly shifts, but thats mitigated by a decent rest pattern.
Wouldn’t know where to start if I decided to change career.
RDL-82Free MemberHad no issue here. Only kept it for the ufc and with recent changes wasn’t prepared to pay, used link in email. Didn’t work from iPad, just locked up but worked fine from laptop.
RDL-82Free MemberNope, on either commuter or MTB.
Don’t like the look of the bar makers MTB stem and the commuter has bullhorns and the stem maker doesn’t do any although tbh in either case don’t think I’d be that bothered I just get what works, such as the bullhorns, just never got on with drops.
RDL-82Free MemberWhat size and do you need a fork too? I’ve got my ’13 Large/19″ Orange Clockwork (no headset fitted) sat doing nothing and a130mm (can be reduced to 120mm) Revelation RL 20mm but I’d want to shift together and ideally collection/meet up (Manchester).
RDL-82Free MemberWe had that, cleared itself in a couple of days. Came on just a randomly as it went as I never got around to more and googling the fault and general consensus seemed to be someone at Peugeot got bored and attached a crap load of errors to that message so tracking down is a pain.
Ours is an 03 307 2.0 petrol so can’t say if newer cars have a specific fault attached, but after 12months its never returned. I’d be tempted to leave a few days so long as no loss of power etc and or buy a fault reader/clearer.
RDL-82Free MemberI got my local shop to ring hotlines, and they denyed any knowledge of this or an upgrade kit. I ended up greasing the seat stay pivots and all has been fine since.
Can you just remove covers for that or do you need to strip them?
RDL-82Free MemberHmm, my Mega TR creaks slightly when seated only. That what others are experiencing or when stood too? First FS for me so just assumed nievely maybe that it was just part of everything moving :-/
Grease time then.
RDL-82Free MemberTook me a lot of messing to get my 27.5 RLT’s sorted. Have ended up at 80psi @ 175lb. A mate suggested using body weight in kg. don’t know if that’s a well known base as I’d never heard it but it was much better for me. Maybe wort a try.
RDL-82Free MemberNot sure if there is an automated way of doing it however Audacity (free download) can record what’s going through your sound card on its way to your speakers but that would of course mean listening to the whole show(s) in real time.
RDL-82Free MemberHaven’t the faintest tbh when it comes to that stuff, hence the pic rather than answer!
Have you emailed Nukeproof? They were helpful and quick to respond when I emailed about something.RDL-82Free MemberOn phone so can’t embed pocture, so hopefully this helps anyway…
