Been getting back into my running (again 🙄) after getting back feeling good prior to my first half which sadly never went ahead due to some life issues and then lost all drive (recurring theme for me unfortunately).
Anyway. I got myself a nice welcome back today. A nice bit of nipple rub. Bit of blood in the shower. Smarted a tad!
Despite that. Feels good to be running again. A lot busier on the roads and trails now though!
And definitely keep at it faerie.
RDL-82Free MemberInteresting @kcr
Like I said. I only looked into it briefly and wasn’t aware of such claims. No time for that stuff.
Still feel recovery benefits from the cold/ice baths/showers though.
RDL-82Free MemberLovely little game.
Very short though unfortunately. Tempted to pay for the first one though as still enjoyable despite length.
RDL-82Free MemberRoss Edgley (crazy dude who swam around GB) is a fan/practitioner of his principles iirc.
Looked briefly at it but nothing else. I do feel better personally from cold showers/baths after hard exercise.

Also…
Guys a machine and is Katie Taylor’s trainer. She’s pretty handy too!RDL-82Free MemberThe Sun doesn’t like him…
Why? With regards to donating the revenue or some other reason?
EDIT: quick google and look on The Sun shows a couple of negative comments their coverage of Joe’s intentions.
RDL-82Free MemberFor those that don’t follow him on social.
He is donating all the YouTube revenue generated by the PE videos is going to the NHS.
Even more respect.
RDL-82Free MemberWell the panic buying seems to have stopped here at least.
Can’t say the same about Asda Eastlands.
Just on way home after called after work. Still pretty much empty shelves for a lot of stuff.
Not sure what it’s like at 8am when it opens but if you need to go later on it seems it’s still not so great.Thinking it’s that big people are just assuming it’s going to have what they need.
RDL-82Free MemberWe have been taking part here. Girls enjoying it. They did his school workout thing already.
Space an issue for us. 5 of us jumping around the living room gets bumpy!
Fair play to him for doing it.
RDL-82Free MemberOf those options the £2.50/month would be the best for us – thanks
Done, I’ve got myself a ‘P’ again!
Even resisted using the discount code which being a tight sod was a challenge in itself!RDL-82Free Member@chipps or indeed anyone from the mag who can answer.
I don’t ride anymore so don’t really have any interest in the physical mag (although I’d read it if it dropped through the letter box) but before I subscribe which one actually puts more money in your bank?
The £8 bi-monthly or the £2.50 each month for the digital only? I’d presume the latter but can happily do either. Which is better for you?RDL-82Free MemberApple Music Family here. Had the 6 month trial and we just stayed on it.
I imagine most people end up doing the same with whichever streaming service they use.
I personally built up a fair old library in the 6 months and then didn’t want to ‘lose’ it.
Tried Google Music years ago but didn’t get along with it at the time plus was still mostly buying music at that time. One thing I do like with Apple Music is the fact I can add things I’ve purchased or already owned that are not in Apples library to Apple Music on the computer and it syncs them to the cloud and they are then available on my phone and tablet without having to ever actually add them to said devices.
Does a similar system exist with Spotify out of interest?Spotify – 37
Apple – 11
Google – 2
Deezer – 1RDL-82Free MemberWe have an EBac 2650e which was primarily bought for condensation issues (sorted those a treat) but it is a laundry mode/setting which whilst we haven’t used can only assume would do the job very well as even on its normal ‘smart’ setting any wet clothes on maiden(s) dry much faster than before we had it.
As for noise. I was worried at first as I’m very sensitive to background noise especially when trying to get to sleep, but with it set to ‘smart’ on ‘low’ for both sensitivity and fan speed it doesn’t disturb me in the slightest and we have it on the landing upstairs.
High fan speed possibly might but having it in ‘low’ has been adequate to solve the issues it was bought for.
Too soon to comment on running costs though but think Ebac say something like £2 ish a week.
On its ‘smart’ setting it takes about 3-4 days to fill the tank.Edit for link…

RDL-82Free MemberI have little to no job satisfaction. I do have a wife and two young kids though and I’m the sole earner at present. I also believe I would struggle to find a job that pays the same as this one. I still work to the best of my ability though.
Pretty much sums me up but with an extra kid.
Fell into the industry and slowly worked my way up and whilst there’s still moves I could make they don’t appeal.
However, whilst I don’t really get any satisfaction from the job I do appreciate the fact that it affords me plenty of family time and when I finish my shift that’s that, I take nothing home with me.RDL-82Free MemberGorgeous. Skye approves of you choice!

RDL-82Free MemberHalide is the app that gets mentioned a lot these days, certainly worth a look.
Halide is a camera app, and a decent one at that. For editing though it directs you towards Darkroom.
As an extra to my previous recommendation of Darkroom, today’s update has made that one more difficult. They are shifting to a subscription model of £20 a year unless you’ve already bought the full app. Whether those of us who have will continue to get all the ‘cool stuff’ they have coming or not we will have to wait and see.
ProCamera have recently done the same but have locked the new stuff into the subscription with no option to buy the addons you want.RDL-82Free MemberAnother vote for Snapseed for the phone.
Darkroom also very good especially if you are shooting Raw. Easier to use on iPad imo though.
RDL-82Free MemberMe too.
People I do recall having messaged or been messaged by in the past but always dodgy looking link and always in Spam folder.
Mainly coming from an address where first name begins with ‘G’ and second name ‘C’
RDL-82Free MemberI haven’t but it’s something I’ve thought about but not looked into properly.
Cadair is the only one I’ve never done.Presume it’s like the National as far as Snowdon is concerned which is fairly easy.
As for Pen y Fan if it take the route up from the Storey Arms then thats also a doddle (fatigue notwithstanding of course) If coming at it from the other side and going up Jacobs Ladder then that’s a bit more of a killer especially if it’s the last summit and tired legs are involved.I know not really useful just sharing what I know and also bumping as interested myself.
Imagine like the National though it’s the driving that’s the killer if self supported.RDL-82Free MemberGenerally sits at around 18-20.
2.5l I5 Focus ST. Didn’t and generally doesn’t bother me but starting to do a lot more mileage and it can get expensive. Small tank doesn’t help
RDL-82Free Member…cancelled by seller.
Would say that pretty much sums it up if it’s the seller or their mates bidding up the auction and then realising no one was biting.
RDL-82Free MemberWe gave up on the TRV’s.
Tado system here. They definitely saved us money, they never came on properly!
Can’t say for other brands but assume as do others on net/forums that the thermostat in the trv is too close to the radiator and so switches off too quickly as it’s detecting the set temperature before the room had actually reached that.
Seems to be more of an issue for vertical valves vs horizontal. All ours are vertical.
Using the temperature offset in the app made no difference as the main thermostat would switch heating off before the rooms with smart trv’s reached temperature.
We just put the traditional trv’s back on and turned them down.
Kids and missus complained they were noisy in operation too when they did bother to come on. Can’t say I noticed.
I could I guess have to put smart thermostats in each room And slaved the valves to its temperature reading but then a simple set up would have become expensive and ott for our needs in what is a small home really and ultimately I wanted to just replace the old ‘dumb’ parts of the current system. When the time comes to redo the house I’ll look into options again and reconsider the trv’s but the Tado one at least are a no from me.
I wouldn’t say gimmick just poorly executed at least in our case.RDL-82Free Member@footflaps how have you found the running power aspect of the V?
Iirc when it came out and I was reading about it some where seeing it as a gimmick. I presume there’s still no power ‘standard’ so Stryd/Polar/Garmin/Whoever will all give a different reading, having said that though have you made much/any using of the metric in your running and if so have you found it to offer a benefit?
As I said in my post I am mainly running these days so am tempted to possibly sell the M and get a V for the power side and supposedly better recovery side.RDL-82Free MemberI have the M after upgrading from the 400.
It wasn’t a smooth upgrade and was a bit of a disappointment at first. A lot left out or buggy. The V and M have had several major updates since though and are realistically at the point they should have released at.
The Vantages have just had a major update which has brought over the ‘fitspark’ stuff from the more casual ‘Ignite’ series. Haven’t used it yet but looks like a nice addition. There’s a decent write up on Polars site or download the respective manuals if you haven’t already.
I went with the M as I wasn’t sold on the running power which is the only real major difference other than how they deal with recovery recommendations/advice. As I’ve moved to more and more running however I kind of regret that now.
There’s a lot of talk on the net about them having poor gps accuracy (something that seems to be an issue with the newer low power chipsets when I was reading) however whilst yes I’d agree they don’t draw a pretty line on the map the actual distances for me at least have been just as accurate as other devices.
Wrist based HR seems good. Between 5-10 bpm off against chest strap was the worst I experienced l. Doesn’t react as fast as the chest strap though.
Overall I’m happier with it now then when I got it.

RDL-82Free MemberI bet that’s what you told your wife…
Damn right I did!
Even says it on the sample pack literature 😬
RDL-82Free MemberDo you get to do lots of samples after? Excellent….
Assume the NHS recommend something similar but I’ve been told to ejaculate at least 20 times in the next 12wks before returning a sample.
RDL-82Free Member… I felt like I would have been fine to get back cycling but gave it the recommended 3 weeks.
That’s my plan/intention. Just do as recommended (don’t run for 2wks, cycle for 4wks) I’m struggling already and it’s only day 3. I’m really not good at relaxing!
RDL-82Free MemberI came from an iPhone 8 and this does actually feel like a genuine upgrade
Me too. Went with the 11 Pro rather than the Max. Smaller than the 8+ but with more screen. Expensive but like you say, feels like an upgrade for sure.
Not had a proper play with the camera yet but indoors is much better and the night mode is pretty impressive.
If you (op) can justify it I’d go for an 11 pro. Only issue I see as such is if you will want to be on 5g soon as you will then be replacing again next year when the rumours speculate Apple will go 5g.
RDL-82Free MemberHad it done on Monday. No scalpel at Marie Stopes.
Currently sat at home recovering, although if I’m honest, I could have carried on relatively normally, whether that would be advisable or not I don’t know so here I am chilling. The procedure was nothing really. Felt the local going in. Felt the occasional pull. Only had one ‘that’s not nice’ moment that lasted seconds and passed. It was all over in no time at all.
Sat around for 20mins then was on my way home.
Guy before me was sent home due to high blood pressure. Whether that was because he was worked up or not I don’t know but he was nervous in waiting room.No real pain afterwards, just a bit of discomfort.
My bits are a tad bruised but again not massively.Definitely a case of the thought is worse than the real thing for me.
RDL-82Free MemberI’d be up for some of this. Can’t remember which forza’s we have at present. Definitely horizon 2 & 3 and a couple of the motorsport one too, definitely the one with the Ford GT on it.
RDL-82Free MemberWhat device are we talking? iOS/Android?
On iOS assuming you have family sharing set up (might be another way) go on the family sharing then down to screen time then select member(s) in question and you get the option to limit/block app use.
Haven’t used it but it’s there.
Imagine something similar for Android.
Edit: Sorry. Missed the part about doing it via broadband/router. As Cougar said then, but unless devices are WiFi only that will only work at home although think some mobile providers allow things to be blocked but could be wrong. Depends how badly you want to do it!
RDL-82Free Memberid want to just look back at what id done for my own knowledge, not share it.
Yeah. Set to private. Don’t link any socials up. Largely how I use it, just have certain things not private and just shared with followers (mates).
RDL-82Free MemberWe rarely if ever watch tv in our house beyond a bit of Netflix.
Personally though happy to keep paying the fee purely for the radio side. If it wasn’t for the radio though I’d probably look to stop.
RDL-82Free Member@DezB sweet recommendation.
Playing the full release (Zero ****) now. Naughty! Need to make an account and purchase I think.
I’m digging the new Philth album. Monuments in Time pt1 and especially
RDL-82Free MemberGot these about two weeks ago for running as like yourself didn’t want a wire.
JBL Reflect Flow In-Ear True Wireless Headphones.
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2064453
Although they were half that when I picked them up.
More than happy with them. Allegedly 10hrs life in pods and 20 from case. Haven’t tested the claim as they recharge every time they go back in case. Case has yet to go flat though since initial charge.
They are designed for sports too so fully waterproof.
Has a feature called ‘talk through’ or something were you press the left pod and it lets through external sound. Press it again and it’s essentially a 50/50 mix press again and it’s all your music. Works pretty well in use.
Haven’t received a call yet so can’t comment on that aspect of it concerns you.WhatHiFi rated them highly too for what that’s worth.
RDL-82Free MemberI should say that my wife does not share this opinion.
That’s all that matters surely.
