Ok then I just stick about 40 in f&r. What’s the perceived benefit of running abit less in the front, are people really noticing +/- 5 psi.

Well clamped up the levers last night and have a slightly better feel today, doubt the front going to improve but the rear still isn’t as tight as the front, can’t be bothered playing about anymore today, can’t ride it with a broken wrist anyway just wanted to get it sorted for when I’m back on it.

Any tips for getting the best out of xt 775 brakes? Other than tapping he’ll out of the system while bleeding.

Didn’t think it would make much difference tbh, as surely the fluid amount is the key.
Never been totally happy with the back brake, might have to leave the caliper hanging right down straight, over night, with the reservoir cap off, and try again tomorrow. It’s not bad, just feels like it could be better.

Well i had/have (still in box, just in case!) a 456 summer season that was ace but a chore needed to be slightly steeper imo, should of got a standard but the ss was v cheap, so decided to get a standard 456 when the Mmmbop came upat silly price, or should i say cheaper then the 456 so took a punt and tbh thats ace as well, is it better, not sure yet but definately hitting stuff faster, and not always by choice it just seems to be more eager/rides faster, buts that just imo all that steel is real stuff, cant say i noticed that either…anyway enough rambling both are ace, but tbh i wouldnt of got the Mmmbop at rrp as i dont feel it is that much better :o

Awesome bike and a steel if you can get it at the discounted price…just make sure it doesnt try to kill you like mine did yesterday, encourages silly speed and confidence just feels right, shame i wont be riding it for a bit while this broken wrist heals

You don’t mention what bones in your wrist you’ve broken…

tbh the doctor didnt say, rushed of his feet and not really bothered, but hey… looking at the x-ray however i had 3 fractures on the little finger side and on the thumb side it looks like it has shifted out of line like a step, massive swelling there…have it in plaster at present but only on the top for some reason…is that normal, make it easier for the consultation on thursday?

Yep I rode for 3 months before my fractured wrist (in 4 places) was diagnosed, It had started to fuse off whack but with enough movement to not require a medical break and re-set, I strapped it up and carried on regardless.

no chance rode home with it limp at my side, couldnt even grip the bars properly and ended up walking as the shocks fromt he trail where making it worse.

just see what the specialist has to say.

cheers all, intend to do exactly as told, dont fancy breaking/fracturing :D it again due to messing about or jumping back on the bike too soon, was just after a ball park figure really.

got a joplin3 had no problems yet, and it gets plenty of use, slightest of play left to right in the nose but nothing that is noticable once riding, suspect all the people who trash them dont look after them, but hey thats just my opinion

ok, thinking starting at cragg for ease of getting home, know where i am, if get caught for time…not that bothered about playing on the skills area or anything this time, just want to look about and do the runs, and back. Will go for it i think, do Cragg and pop over to Lee and see how it goes, she can only ignore me if i’m late back :)

nope you can debrand it using a 'goldcard' google's your friend for that one. Rooting's a different thing, but both can be reversed should you wish, and besides if the phone is that knackered it wont come on, whos going to know?

Rooted my original G1 as soon as it was done, makes for a better phone, in terms of what you can do, for example i was running a custom firmware with bluetooth before the official release update with bt activated, but tbh you will know whether you want root or not, if you know what it gives you, if you are happy with the phone as is then why change? My desire is stock btw, dont feel the need to play this time, at least yet anyway!

Google 'cyanogen mod' for more detailed info.

i'm happy with t-mobile been with them for years, still do plenty of 18 month contracts aswell, even on the desire, depends what you want, minute/text wise, but they have the best internet usage policy imo, something like 3gig on android phones, and only a polite chill out warning if you go over.

I got a desire with 900 minutes unlimited txts and internet 18 month contract (you can upgrade after 17) for £30 pm although i think thats gone upto £35 now but you get to pick a bolt on thing such as unlimited landline calls.

I've found they are best if dealt direct, i couldnt get the deal i got anywhere else, and i did try, and as mentioned, branded phones are a piece of p*ss to debrand.

I'd like to know a bit about the 'Troof' aswell. Is it an 'allday' bike with the right build or has this been designed as more of a play/trail centre type ride, maybe its the look, it just looks like you had a specific idea in mind with it looking so different to the mmmbop. Also whats the minimum fork length recommended, still happy with my 140mm and dont feel i need more, but like the look of this…

@ RDL-82, do you not like your nads or something? On a saddle down DJ bike maybe, but a trail/AM bike with the saddle fully up I don't really get the saddle angle?

nads are workin fine thanks, freshly built and un-tweeked in that shot, corrected now

mines better  but you have a better camera as yours works :D great bike loving mine.

Nah, we all have decent bikes without comedy headtubes

As shallow as it is, this is the only thing stopping me buying an mmmbop, I think. It just looks bloody awful.

I thought that, not bad in the flesh though, i actually like it, suits the rest of the frame.

2 bikes both running, although saying that has probably just signalled the death knoll to the dodgy bb in the ss, too much month left until payday…

6'2" with 34" inside, had an 18" with a 70mm stem and 410mm post with about 8" ish showing and was fine all day for me, but i would probably say a 20" going off your size

well i started the thread the other day and my frame turned up fine bb went straight in, no over spray anywhere that i could see, just ran a very fine sand paper over the shells then cleaned it all up, guess its just look of the draw, but then i wouldnt buy any frame and expect it to be fine, i would always factor in a trip to the lbs, and if not needed, bonus

yeah noticed it in the instructions about not lifting it, and tbh i caught it by accident, but then thought, oopps was that meant to happen, will have a play with it when iget home…

    Where's the mmmbop?

thats my thought, reason for all the cheap deals? Looks like the 'troof' has replaced it to me anyway. now what size seat post does it take?

ok seems they did get back, but my email has stopped forwarding…

Anyway the answers 'no' they dont plan to, they will be available only as a special order through lbs, with a roughly 8 week wait and no price given, back to the planing…

as an update, got frame today, unfortunately seatpost and bb failed to show :(
Now the shells look fine no overspray or anything and the bb thread look/feels clean, so all good, but for peace of mind, was thinking of getting some very fine sandpaper and sanding block and give it a quick go over to make sure, any one feel this is a bad idea which will only end in my un-timely demise!

    Cheers

will just take it in and get it checked/done, no bother really, curiosity more than anything…the more inportant question is whether to start a fresh build or butcher the other bike, new 1.5 forks or not, hhmm decisions…
