Had issue on Saturday with the firestick, not loading menus and buffering a lot once it finally did and we picked something. No issues with the PrimeTV app on phone at the same time though as checked that to see.

Our youngest had a Fire Kids. Was great for her (6 at the time) but her older sisters had iPads they’d saved up for and as we were also Apple biased we ended up giving her an old iPad of mine. Ended up being easier as the whole house was then part of the ‘Family’ under my Apple account and easier to control everything plus purchase sharing enabled everyone to share films/books/games/music that we may individually purchase.

Every ‘purchase’ she makes we have to authorise first and it’s easy to control access using ‘screen time’. Not sure how easy however if the only Apple device is the tablet although I’m sure it’s still possible so long as you keep the passwords/pins to yourself.

Obvious difference in prices however especially when you consider the free year of content on the Fire Kids tab, but they are certainly not as slick as the iPad (this was a couple of years ago mind) but I’d still recommend especially as a first tablet of price is a concern.

I have exactly the same coat @lunge links to. I think it’s a bargain.

Bit of a Montane brand tart here but damaged my down jacket and took a punt on the Decathlon one on impulse whilst in store.  Would happily replace it with another.

Again only a bit of an address as such but this is in T&Cs. Bottom one in the list. That address possibly only relates to their services side however but potentially another avenue for you to explore.

    Apple Canada Inc., located at 120 Bremner Blvd., Suite 1600, Toronto ON M5J 0A8, Canada for users in Canada;

    Apple Services LATAM LLC, located at 1 Alhambra Plaza, Ste 700 Coral Gables, Florida, for users in Mexico, Central or South America, or any Caribbean country or territory (excluding Puerto Rico);

    iTunes K.K., located at Roppongi Hills, 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-6140, Tokyo for users in Japan;

Apple Pty Limited, located at Level 3, 20 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia, for users in Australia or New Zealand, including in any of their territories or affiliated jurisdictions; and

@oldgit really sorry to hear that. It’s just a nightmare. We are due to marry this year also.

We some small slither of hope in that the wedding is 10 days after the lock down should end but thats assuming they for some reason also lower the tiers after lockdown as we are currently tier 3. The annoying part is we are technically able to marry but the venue won’t allow it as their insurer has told them they won’t be covered for tier 3 guests.

We are now looking at postponing but to when? And to top it off all our suppliers have gone silent. Helpful.

    Good luck with everything.

Iirc Shazam is getting baked in and will be available from the control centre. It’s in 14.2 (the current beta) again iirc. I don’t bother running beta stuff just recall reading something about it

I use Shazam a lot so would be a nice addition if it does happen

    Edit: yep, it’s coming…

Polar A370 to go against the (no doubt incoming) Garmin crowd!

No issue here (as of yet!) but I’m using an iPhone so potentially an Android problem(?)

Only used BT headphones so far however since installing.

Battery seemed to quickly return to normal for me (11pro) and all is otherwise fine apart from the lock screen being non responsive occasionally. Lock then unlock solves it.

14.2 beta has gone public I believe so no doubt another update soon.

Never mind. Just gone on the YouTube app to watch that ‘one breath’ video. Come back on here and videos now play. No idea what that’s about!

Anyone else having issues watching embedded YouTube videos in posts on this site (possibly others too but not come across anywhere else with something I want to watch!) since upgrading to IOS14?

Press play and it just disappears for me.

Sorry to hear that as been there and had the initial hassle.

Tgis was several years ago so may be smoother now, however we were hit in exactly the same circumstances apart from after initially getting out to deal with the incident the other driver then fled the scene. He was drunk, clearly and no doubt panicked.
We had his license plate but nothing else. Went to police with details and was given a crime number.
Informed insurance who collected my car.
The pain was the fact the other party never reported it, why would they, so his insurance disputed at first.

My insurance did go up too.

Most I ever heard on the other party was a statement I had to give to police. After that nothing. Tbh I didn’t chase.

    Snazzy Adidas ones – https://www.adidas.co.uk/face-covers-m-l-3-pack/H08837.html

Got these when the first lot were released. Not bad for 3 and washable.

    Sizing isn’t great though.
The l/xl are large at best, probably more med/large tbh and the s/xs are probably more medium. Certainly too big for my 7yo and only just fit my 11yo. Fine for my 16yo though.

Not sure I’d bother anymore but that’s just me being lazy!

Did it years ago on a Peugeot 306. As others have said the rivets were the hardest part. I didn’t have access to a rivet gun so as a temporary measure used some small bolts and lock-nuts. Never changed it in two years and they were still as tight and caused no issues. An option if you also don’t have access to rivet gun.

Had exactly the same with the ST of the same era. Ended up removing all the caps and just running the bare nuts underneath.
Iirc they are a 1-2mm smaller socket (18mm rings a bell) but in 5 years I never had an issue with them like that.

We have two weekend breaks coming up (June/July) both in U.K. (Wales and Lakes).

Both paid in full. One CC one debit. As I understand it though that shouldn’t matter.

I really don’t think we will be going to Wales in June and even if we can I don’t fancy being basically stuck inside the accommodation because nothing is open.
    Suspect/feel there’s a good chance July’s Lakes weekend won’t happen either.

Our intention is to wait until the next announcement is made in May. However, both have pretty high cancellation costs the longer we leave it. Ones just the deposit currently the other 30% but both quickly become 100%.

Can anyone answer, do we have to accept an offer to move dates which I suspect will be the offer. We would be unable to do anything this year regardless of how the situation develops and even planning next year would be difficult for various reasons.
If they did offer new dates or for us to select new dates. If we refused can they use the cancellation clause against us?

Never heard of it before opening this thread.

Having looked on the site though. Is it really offering anymore than what a Polar Vantage M/V or Ignite or even the new Grit X (I’m sure Garmin etc have similar but no experience) already offer?

They will all track sleep and 24/7 HR. Tell you the quality of said sleep and how well you’ve ‘recharged’. They will also show you your cardio load and muscle loads from training and give guidance on activity for the day such as Strength, Cardio or Supportive and give 4 options in each category for you or do your own thing based on past load and sleep/recovery.

If you did strength or cardio it will then recommend some ‘Supportive’ work such as mobility.

Maybe Whoop are giving some personal recommendations after someone has specifically looked at your data rather than some algorithms like Polar.

Enjoying the runs lately. Have lately had to keep the dog on lead more as it’s so much busier where I run.
Took delivery of a cheap Trespass running harness/lead yesterday so took it for a test run today. Went well and much better than running whilst holding the lead.

Catching our breath by the canal at the end.

Those that run with their dogs. Do you use a harness/lead. If so which one? The Trespass seems fine but early days. Curious of options/opinions.

I may have just been unlucky and got a Friday special!

I seem to recall reading someone on here complaining about a GBD shed not long after we got ours. Might have been a Billy-Oh too. Iirc they ended up remaking most of it.

    RDL-82

    What’s a good brand/company to use for a shed?

We’ve had a Billy’O from Garden Buildings Direct for about two years now and tbh it seems pretty poor.
Its t&g throughout but apart from the roof and floor it’s suffers really badly from shrinkage to the point that at the minute for instance there’s gaps in the doors and sides between the tongue and groove on sections.

I appreciate wood shrinks depending on weather but that seems almost like they weren’t fully in the groove to begin with.

    Or is this normal?

Looking to make a start on garden soon so seems ideal time for a new decent shed.

    Sorry @lunge missed your post.

Have done pretty much that today and just had a chilled 45 minutes out with the dog. No rushing. Mostly ran but walked bit and listened to the birds and enjoyed the warm evening sun.

Felt somewhat strange not just ‘going’ for it but enjoyed it non the less.

    Another lacklustre fun from me.

Head/body/heart not in it. Not sure if the current situation plus other home stresses are just getting to me but think I’ll take a rest for several days and reset.

Same in the kitchen for us @garagedweller but with pan head screws. Can’t find long ones easily it’s all countersunk and the instructions say not to use.

    @BigJohn
    what would you recommend?
Fischer have similar coach bolts in the complete pack but not sold by Screwfix.

    https://www.fischer.co.uk/en-gb/products/standard-fixings/plastic-fixings/duopower/555110-duopower-10-x-50-s

The wall is definitely aerated concrete with plaster on top and looking at Fischer’s data the plugs can take either 20kg per fixing or 60kg depending on the type of block. No way for me to know that though I guess.

    https://content.fischer.de/cbfiles/fischer/lastentabelle/lt_01_duopower_f_%23sen_%23aip_%23v2.pdf

Again any help from anyone appreciated.

Edit: I imagine that’s a generic picture for the bolts John and the unthreaded shaft section is smaller on the smaller length versions. Could be wrong of course.

You were always the first to the top of the climbs, but you needed that extra time for puking in the bushes.

I love it really I am just so out of shape right now though.
Start commuting again on it next week though so start to get it back.

App based. Adidas Training have recently announced that they have made the premium side free for 90 days. Have used it and enjoyed it in the past but lack the dedication to stick at it, but that’s another story! Do still use it though but just pick random workouts when I want.

Apple link, but presume it’s on Android too

    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/adidas-training-by-runtastic/id1035263816

Online School of Calisthenics have made a couple of their programs free recently too. Can’t comment but for free worth a look.

Great vid that one. Remember watching and thinking what a cool little existence he has and some skills too.

Likewise I’ve started knocking off jobs I’ve been putting off for no reason other than laziness. Suspect I’ll hit a supplies road block soon though.
