The edge should be reading/showing the gpx route/track fine, all the rides I have on mine are gpx’s.
Have you put them in the right place? Gpx folder in either the device or memory card.
Just a side thought, it’s definitely a gpx and not a wrongly labelled/extension file, have you opened the route in any software, memory map or such?

Yes and yes, most definitely one of the better purchases I’ve made, at the risk of spending like a magazine article, just so much more flow, no stopping at the top to lower, and no stopping at the bottom, well apart from waiting for mates who are still fiddling about at the top!

    Get one :)

Have you updated the edge 705?

I do all my rides (or at least the ones I map first) using memory maps and just dump the gpx on the memory card, I’ve never had the edge recalculate the route unless I’m off the pre planned route and even then it asks first, I’d check your device settings.
The only issue I had with the 705 was if the route started and finished on exactly the same spot when mapped out then the device would tell me I had finished, ride 100m down the ride or whatever and dart the navigation and it was fine.

Just had a look on the label of mine, says iron it on a cool setting to rejuvenate and the little picture of the iron with 1 dot.

Couple of lads at work have the Icarus, seem happy with it. Have you got a go outdoors near you? They do a price match plus an extra 10% off on in stock like for like. I know they definitely do the Icarus. Might be worth a look to save a bit more £’s, I recently saved on a Vango Omega 350 with them, no quible just showed them the website I’d seen and that it was showing in stock, they printed it out, matched it and knocked the extra 10% off which made it cheaper than an older model. Only thing to note is that you need to pay £5 for a members card but for me it was still cheaper than anywhere else.

Did mine last October Distal Radial, 4 places 1 through joint. Did it October 10th and didn’t ride at all until a quick one, against my physio’s advice I must add, on December 21st, wrist was aching for several days after, so all I’ll say is that the 3 months is very believable unfortunately.

On a plus, I kept my gloves on until I got seen at A&E, drove there, like you say, hurts less than expected, anyway the doctor, and indeed the specialist I saw several day later suspected I might need it pinning, however when I saw the specialist again he said that he suspected keeping the glove on supported the wrist slightly an printed any bone displacement, so I ended up not needing surgery, which was a bonus, you may be lucky like me.

Get better soon, just don’t rush it.

Have you undone the collar and cycles the post up and down several times, usually gets mine behaving again.
Having said that though mine has just come back from 2pure due to oil contamination which amongst other problems was causing some spongy-ness. Had trouble getting a response from them via email, so rang in the end and everything was great from then on.

Currently going through something similar at the minute, however the property is empty, but garden is full of rubbish.

After many phones calls we were told we needed to speak to someone from the councils ‘Private Sector Housing’ section and was advised again to make a fuss with regard to pests if that didnt work. Needn’t have worried, they were on it pronto, and served the landlord with a notice of rectification under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 >

If the occupior or landlord fail to act they can come in themselves and recify the issues and bill the landlord.

Looks sweet, just finished mine, not took it off road yet, but it feels ace at 120mm so I’ll prob just wind it out to 140mm for the silly stuff :)

    AXA.

Charged £13 extra to insure the ss for theft anywhere ie on the commute. And the other bike which doesn’t leave my side if I can help it and definitely doesn’t get commuted on comes under the £2000 un-named item, however they will accept a shop valuation if I wanted it specifically listed or if it was over the £2k.

One SS and the other bike has just been rebuilt as 1×9. Was very close to just pimping the hell out of the SS and getting rid of the other bike, but there are occasions where personally I’d rather have the option of gears, 1×9 was the compromise, will see how it goes.

Out of the two the SS definitely has more miles under it though.

And if you do follow Blands directions from Manchester, once you get to Park Bridge go and find the jump track/4x up in the woods, it’s in a worse for wear state due to the mx’ers but it’s a good laugh and some nice lines in the woods, can easily waste an hour playing.

Where you based ‘Bland’? You’ve just described the pretty much exact route I take to get over that side, drop into Mossley then either over to Greenfield or over to Tintwistle etc, both a good slog if starting in Manchester. Like you say though, plenty out that way, it’s just not as readily available like other areas.

That vid looked good, will be pouring over the maps, as it doesn’t ring a bell, but sure wish it did :)

Well the screws are tight and feel unlikely to come undone however I’m wondering more why the screw is so long if hardly any gets threaded, I’ve just dry fitted the rear without the hose, and with the insert and olive in you’ve know chance of ever getting the screw all the way in, so it’s clearly meant that way, just seems wrong compared to the original setup.

Anyone get any experience with other setups, goodridge for example.

    Cheers

Not possible as far as I can tell, the braided hose has a larger outer diameter with the olive and screw having a larger internal diameter that the Shimano stuff, but the overall size still fits.

    RDL-82

Well the threads look the same so i doubt thats the issue, and if i screw it in without the hose assembly it’ll go all the way.
As you can see from this pic the silver Fibrax screw is shorter but with the olive on top it would be about the same as the Shimano one with an olive.

Only thing ive noticed is that the olive is about twice the length of the standard Shimano one so maybe the cause. Maybe everything is fine and im stressing over nothing but with it being brakes i want to be sure. Ultimately i cant see how when assembled youd ever get the screw all the way in…Help!

I won’t say what’s right or wrong as we’re all different all I can say is I had a 456ss for about 18months with a uturn pike and after a short time it was wound down to 120 and stayed there for the rest of the time I had it, definitely a sweet spot in my opinion and experience, in fact it was just as good at 95mm but I wanted a bit more bounce than that.
As far a I remember when I bought it, the blurb that brant wrote on the on one site was always about achieving a slack H/A with out the need for a long fork, as has been said though, somewhere along the lines thats been forgotten/changed.

    RDL-82
    Free Member

    Cheers, I’ll check that later.

Might treat myself to a new fork anyway if it’s knackered, by the time I’ve serviced it, re sprung it and replaced the rebound I’ll be on my way to the cost of a new one anyway, plus I need a treat :D

    4 laps is pretty respectable.

I’m happy with it, I was smiling at the end, thats the main thing.

@ RDL-82. Gears aren’t necessarily a great benefit on that course.

Purely a desire from a totally out of shape after a few months laid up after breaking myself. If I’d been fitter I wouldn’t have even considered gears.

Really hope the event was a success and that we see another in the summer/winter, I want to sign up now :D

Had a great time, first ever race, only managed 4 laps on the single speed (must fix the geared bike), but completely forgot to drink for the two hours and started flagging hugely at the end, wish I’d pushed it for another now.

What’s the average lap amount then?

Aslo how long before the results get posted?

Cheers to everyone involved, great day, time to go scrape the mud off everything :D

Can reccommend The North Face Etip gloves, but not for the bike, they work perfect with the iPhone, but they wore out very fast in the recent weather. They were great when i was just running (broken wrist) but once i got back on the bike i had no gloves due to ripping them in the crash so wore the eTip’s and the silver tip wore out very fast and it is now hit or miss whether they work, however they are not really designed for the bike, and i took my chances, lifetime guarentee though so ill try my luck with that.

rider email going out this evening. you’re on the list Tim. see you on Saturday.

    Anything important in this email?
Ive just realised that the email i used to sign myself and three others up, i no longer have access to, whats the best way to recify this, email you on your email in your profile or via the original sign up route?

Ha you try to edit your post and the forum dies all night…

I’m using Aztec sintered so it’s definitely not dodgy Shimano pads. Going to re bleed them as well as they felt pretty spongy at times yesterday, so wondering if they are not biting enough and glazing/squealing/whatever.

    I’ll get there…eventually :D

Im light on the brakes anyway, defo dont drag, dont even cover them – thatll back fire one day – had these brakes 18months and this is the only time theyve been bad, so need to figure it out, its bugging me now.

    RDL-82

Well i can confirm that Todmorden/Hebdens finest mud had no affect really.

So i think ill try the boil method some off you have posted and add a chamfer, also going to rebleed as they also felt pretty bad in that respect today, but that may be the pad/disc lack of bite whatever, or maybe its all in my head, but ill do it anyway, failing all that its time to spend yet more money :( i really cant be doing with it, its not the usual bit off squeal its a full on wtf my ears are bleeding, plus a general lack of confidence in the brakes is not present (in the head again no doubt) and thats not conductive to an enjoyable ride.

    Time to fettle…cheers all

Its just really annoying, especially after 18 months of almost utter silence fromt the brakes…still not sure why i changed compound

Will see what tomorrow brings, and if all else fails i’ll give CRC some more money.

Possibly just the cold, but even the downs couldnt cure it the other day.

Sorely tempted to just go back to Resin, as i wasnt even getting poor pad life out of them.

Out and about in Todmorden tomorrow so hopefully get them nice and warm, but if anyone hears a bike being murdered its probably me!

Hi, have cleaned calipers, and pretty confident the pads never got oil on them when being bled, and i cleaned the discs before fitting the pads, plus there is that first ride where everything was fine.

Was thinking of putting a bit of copper slip on the back but the bcking plate has holes in it and i remember reading somewhere not to if that was the case. Have checked allignment and there is no rub.

Would say it was definately glazed, they were polished very smooth and tarnished? black, and ive got poor bite now.
