Orange Clockwork? Had mine delivered earlier this week and can’t wait to go abuse it :)

Got it through my companies c2w as I figured it was a good way to try a 29er without the big outlay. Will be better for commuting duties as well compared to the SS.

Prefer on ear myself so in true STW fashion I’ll recommend mine…

AKG 451’s come with two lines, one with a remote for Apple devices.
Can be had for around that price on Amazon.

Highly rated with WhatHiFi if that matters!

Sorry to butt in,but where did you get the small XTR sprockets from?
Rang Madison and they told me they are not bringing in XTR,XT or SLX sprockets. When there buggered new cassette!
    Thanx,
    Max

IIRC Rose Bikes did them but the site won’t load on my phone so can’t confirm.

Depends what size you want. I’ve just put some 10spd SLX on mine 32/24. They’ll do me for now and cost £27 for the pair at CRC.

There was an article on PinkBike I think that had instructions on how to adjust the clutch to make it tighter/slacker easier/harder to move or whatever, might be worth searching for it and trying to adjust.

    EDIT: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Tech-Tuesday-Inside-Shimanos-Shadow-Plus-Mech-and-How-To-Adjust-.html
Shows XTR but imagine the tech is just the same inside.

I think I might try rolling back. Ever since I upgraded, I can’t keep a wifi connection. Google suggests this is common when using BT homehub.

No issues here on a Homehub 2 infinity thing.

Also on 6.1 from the release day, no issues beyond the maps being a work in progress to be polite!

Big debate on Neowin about this.

Can’t see it happening ‘yet’ myself. We are not yet at a stage where everyone has a good consistent and indeed ‘unlimited’ connection so don’t see that working and as for games only working for the original buyer can’t see the likes of CEX etc being too impressed.

IIRC this was touted for the 360 as well.

From my experience of the Train Driver Mechanical test the questions/examples that I could find on the net and which were provided by the test centre as practice were very different to what we received on the day. That not to say they were harder but they were set out and diagramed in a way that made them seem hard and overly complex.
In my opinion if you have an understanding of cogs/pulleys, fulcrum points and circuits you should be fine.

As for pass rates I can only go again off the railway and for that its very low overall but that’s based on several tests that some people just can’t get their head around, such as the reaction test.
On the day I went there was 13 there. Out of that only myself and 2 others made it through the whole day.

All I’d suggest is learn the basics and principles as mentioned if your not fully clued up on them.
I downloaded the practice papers here http://www.psychometric-success.com/downloads/download-practice-tests.htm
Which refreshed my mind on a few things.
Best advice though is don’t panic (easier said than done sometimes) read the question and make sure you understand, you’ll normally be given a few practice questions (from my experience at least) nows the time to ask for help/explanation if needed as you will get none once the test starts and lastly don’t rush, the tests I’ve done in the past prior to the railway were marked on accuracy as well.

Hope that helps and good look.

Me I do about 146 days a year shifts with anything from a 5 hour shift to a 10 hour shift. Averaging out at 35 hours a week.

Sounds like the railway to me, it’s a mirror of me anyway!

dont hate it, bored with it tho.

    ^ This.

Lots of time off, great colleagues and a very good pension though so I’m in no rush to leave.
Hopefully be changing grade though soon so that will cure the boredom…until next time :)

Curious though, if the new BH90 hose is the same external diameter it should fit the older brakes as well, if used with the right barb for the narrower internal diameter, will it improve the braking in any way? Shimano obviously changed for a reason, can the older brakes benefit from it?

RDL – That’s sounds brill, when do you go/are you going next?

Currently bike less for another week or two, but when sorted I’ll be riding most Sundays and a week day as well, with a night thrown in somewhere.

Send me an email or let me know yours and I’ll give you a shout when riding again.

If your close to the centre of Manchester your more than welcome to come out with me (when the new bike finally arrives that is!) generally ride from around the Velodrome then through Clayton Vale (trails mentioned above are starting to look good) then up into Saddleworth or Peaks depending on time/mood.

Mail in profile if interested or reply here.

Can’t say I bother with the weight side vs cost. If I can afford it and its what I would rather have then I get it. If i really wanted the heavier one I’d be just as inclined to get that. I’m not racing and I’ve never sat there thinking ‘god I wish x y or z was lighter’ so it doesn’t bother me, of course someone else will feel differently :)

Also if you don’t have an old stem but har some spare spacers then mount them on top of your good stem and use as a guide that way, no worries about marking stem as blade is only in contact with steerer and spacer.
    How I do it anyway.

I bought something on another site and used pp(not gift) but the seller had to pay the charges. Now I agreed I’d cover the charges, but how do you know what they are,is it a simple % of the amount you send?
I had to ask him how much he’d been charged and then send some more money for him,I’d just like to be able to work it out myself in future and send it in one go.
So,how do they work it out?

There’s others but this has been right for me

This will have to do for now…

Some things to consider, as mentioned earlier, theres no rush or pressure to commit as the pups wont be ready until March.

Will continue to look at the rescue centre in the mean time and in a few weeks may go and view the pups and get more information on the parents regarding previous parentage etc.

I’m still in two minds, they could have said nothing and i’d be none the wiser and the dog could live a full and great life or not as the case could be, however I could buy one from a breeder with crossed parentage and still end up with a pup that becomes ill from some heridarty illness, ultimately no guarantees eitherway.

All i can go off so far regarding honesty of intentions is that the owner/breeder is not making money from it beyond recouping costs of checks and vacinations.

Our last dog was a rescue centre American Bulldog, prior to that we have had a rescue centre Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Both great pets.
Just want a smaller breed now and rescuing again is still an option providing the right dog comes along, sadly our local rescue centre is just full of SBT’s right now and we don’t want another as we fancy a change.

@ski no bond, seen nothing more than pictures and over the phone communication as mother still defensive around litter.
Leaning away from it anyway tbh. The initial, its what we want at a good price has passed and the potential pitfalls are growing now.

C_g they are 9 & 4 so will get very attached. They have been desperate for another dog since the last one and we’ve been 50/50, but have decided to start quietly looking again.

    What breed?

Well Woody2000 has shown as amazingly psychic ability, it currently looks much cuter than that though!

I’d have thought that a responsible breeder would have terminated an accidental pregnancy?

True, can’t help wondering why they weren’t kept apart as well, I know accidents happen but breeders should know full well the signs that the bitch is coming into season. I’m no breeder but I always had an idea with our last dog before we had here done.

A lot will depend on the pedigree of the dogs line. If they have not been too heavily bred up to this point the risks should be limited. If the purity of the lineage has been maintained with plenty of breeding with grandparents then probably walk away.

No way for me to know that tbh, other than hoping they remain honest if asked.
Leaning towards walking away, as with two kids its just not worth the heartache and tears should it develop problems.

Just curious for opinions really at the minute as the pups are not ready yet anyway.

Lol, didnt take long that one :D

Always had rescue dogs, but this is cheaper and a breed we want so tempting, well apart from what I’ve already put above.

Work and its most inconvenient shift and rest pattern dictate that I nearly always ride alone. Always give partner an idea where and how long I’ll likely be.

3year old Endura Convert 2 for nearly everything with an 18 month old Endura MT500 for the truly horrible days. Happy with both and both still good as new.

Can’t comment on the competition as I’ve only a crappy oem to judge it against however my Hope Headset has now seen 3 different frames and is about 3 years old. Still running the same bearings and still looks and feels as good as new apart from a bit of cable rub. I’d happily recommend and will be replacing the tapered headset on the new bike when it arrives with a Hope.

Rode 18’s for a while and the change to 19 made a world of differnce even though only an inch, suspect adding another 2 inches in the case of the clockworks next size may be too much.

Pretty set on going for the 19 tbh now.
