In Smyths toy store yesterday getting something for the baby. Mostly bare shelves and boxes everywhere. Christmas preparations apparently. We have a department store nearby that is advertising it’s Christmas display and grotto will be out in September.
Far too soon, takes the fun out of it…bah humbug!

Also good on him for taking a job that many graduates would turn their noses up at.

You think? Nearly all the new trainee drivers (assuming we are taking Freightliner Rail and not road) coming through at our place are either ex Police/Military or straight out of Uni.

Anyway nothing wrong with it and well done to him, if he enjoys it he will have a decent career with a decent pension (again assuming Rail not Raod, can’t comment on road) and the option to move abroad with the new european driving license and should the freight go down the pan (don’t see that anytime soon with the amount of work going on and increased traffic I’ve seen) he won’t have too much trouble coming over to passenger work.

For me I generally get a day with about 30% left when I plug it in at night. That’ll cover strava for commute both ways with music player on. Some browsing when killing time plus general texting/email etc.
All in all seems a pretty decent battery. Certainty beats the Nokia with the same usage pattern. Reckon could easily get two days out of it without the strava or music of needed.

Can’t really add anything else to consider. However if you get the retail/sim free Moto G then its been updated to the latest android 4.4.4 and Motorola have commited to also updating to Android L when its released so you won’t have to worry about it being our of date right away.

Good phone though. Picked one up after dropping my Nokia 820, and was only planning it as a go between. No intention of changing it anytime soon.

What version of browser and OS? Mine is fine.

    Android 4.4.4
    Chrome 36.0.1985.131

Yep, regardless of wifi or mobile data. Finding the only way to sort is to clear chrome from the recent apps screen and start again.

and also to see if they can do anything to help with the stitching above the breast pocket which has begun to come loose.

Endura replaced mine free of charge when this happened and the replacement was much better stitched in that area so guess it was a problem area with them.

Great jacket but too warm for anything but the crappiest weather IMO.

    Had a response from Madison…

Hi Robert, the system has changed a little.

The bolts used to have triangle-shaped heads and you used to bend up a small plate to prevent them rotating. The silver disc used to sit under the plates to prevent damage to the rotor when bending the plates.

Now though the silver disc is removed, the bolts have round heads with small teeth on the under surface which engage on the plates as you tighten them up removing the need to bend anything.

    Hope that helps

So all good, they just need to update the literature now!

Yep, certainly look like it. Will post a pic as comparison later when I fit it.

Cheers all, suspected it may have been a spec change as the little tabs are different.

Never had a disc come loose just figured there might be a reason shimano specifically included it and with it being missing compared to past experience plus documents still showing the system I expected. Best to check.

Hmm, possibly a spec change as looking again the little tabs are definitely different to the other sizes I’ve got/had.

Haven’t got a spare of the silver disc have you?! Was sure I had one knocking about but seems not. Have emailed Madison but don’t expect a response anytime soon.

Replaced my mt500 after two years when storm flap on chest pocket came unstitched, also repaired the replacement foc a few months later when I was attacked off a stray dog that bit and tore the sleeve…wasn’t the greatest repair but can’t complain for free!

It’s not the bargain it was. I considered it as an interest free loan and 20% discount, which, more importantly, also convinced my wife it was worthwhile.

    +1

Just taken up the offer again after last doing it the first year it started. Treating it purely as an interest free loan.

I ran a 160 on the rear for several months with no real issue other than the rivets on the Hope floater seem to protrude quiet a bit and can catch on the caliper mount which for me led to less than ideal centering to negate it…maybe I just got a Friday special!
Zero issue with the XT RT-76 floaters but black only so no good if you want something else.

Haven’t noticed anything however we still have the older Hub3.

I remember reading the other day that BT will be updating hubs shortly to patch this Heartbleed or whatever it’s called problem that’s currently going on. Could be that.

Can’t get better for the money. Now half your budget and still a a good as you’ll find. What hifi best buy. They were £150 originally.

Have the 451’s. Great headphones but in no way do they cancel the noise so best for use when you won’t disturb others or played at lower volumes.

How long has it been spinning? Couple of minute if just did the reset you can do from within the phones settings, 5 or so minutes if doing a proper reset using Nokia’s NSU software.

If you haven’t used the Nokia software google it and use it. It can be used for such instances iirc.

Garage said two spring lengths available and that they matched them to my old ones. Shock shouldn’t be an issue, as I understand it as its the spring that determines height.

Defo fitted right on the shock base plate. They are a good genuine place with a good rep, just seems high.

Could the base plate be higher on the new shocks than on standard Vauxhall parts as these are just oem spec as Vauxhall wanted just shy of £400 just for parts.

Ok so 2cm may have been generous. Centre of wheel to bottom of arch is 41cm on the front 35cm on the rear so 6cm.

Can’t see it settling in that much so I’ll just have to get over it I guess.

Yeah its an SRi but they supposedly ordered the right ones as they had to wait for them to be delivered and again allegedly measured springs up to confirm.

Watch this space I guess :|

    1.8 Vectra.

Reckon its 2+ cm higher. Maybe its just me and I’m so used to how it was, annoying though, don’t fancy replacing rear springs just to make it match again.

Was running 36t on the 26″ but found it too tall on the 29″ so have gone down to 32t.

Not in the shape I was though so that hasn’t helped.

Cheers, will give that one a try. Always do it hand tight but have been lazy last few years and dropped it off at garage, they must have swung off it last time as it won’t budge by hand.

Just found the chain type i had similar in design to a cassette chain whip could never get tight enough.

    Any opinion on this style?

Cars a Vectra, filter close to down pipe, not a lot of room and pointing down at an angle.

    Pretty resounding then!

My understanding was as ‘clubber’ has said, but wondering what other peoples experience was.

Had XT before and Deore now so that could be playing a part.

In no rush to start spending money anyway.

Enjoy mine (Lumia 820). It is however missing a notification centre which may or may not bother you, but having come from ios previous I do miss that aspect. Yes you have ‘live tiles’ which update to show missed actions however if you don’t have that particular app pinned to the home screen then you’ll get a sound notification but you’ll be scratching your head wondering what from! This is apparently being rectified early 2014 with the wp8.1 update.

I would say go on the windows phone site and have a browse of the app store and see if it has what you want. Its currently missing some of the bigger apps and most notably an official youtube app whilst google and Microsoft argue among themselves however there and great 3rd party apps such as metro tube that do a great job of filling the gap. Likewise if you use instagram that’s not currently available although it is being released shortly, however there is 6tag which blows the official apps away.
There’s plenty of alternatives for the few missing with official versions coming all the time.
The only app with no support seems to be strava, but i grew bored with that anyway!

Anyway, great phones but if your an app whore and must have the ‘in’ game/app straight away you may be disappointed,if your not bothered by that then they are great and well worth a look.

Depends on the type of traction though as to how easy that is, but we would be getting into the realms of being fully trained, not outside the realms of possibility of course, but in that case what can you do unless the person is in some way arousing suspicion.
