Using an old Pace grease gun with mine & pace grease – no problems

yeah, I use it in king bb & headsets, Turner bushes, most things really!

I use my Pace grease gun in mine, the point of the gun will fit into the ball of the king grease tool. I have however since modified a grease nipple to take a Turner zerk – much better

160mm Fox 36 Vans on my SixPack, no problems. Bottom bracket can start getting a little high – especially if you’re using big tyres, but it can be lowered slightly and angles slackened by about 1 degree with offset shock hardware, alternativly a 5spot seat stay – if you can find one – will give similar results (its shorter than the 6pack one) to the bushes, but with less tyre clearance at the top yoke.

I think you can only buy the bush kits complete with pivots, bolts, seals etc. The only way I’ve seen to get bushes on their own is if you can find a now very rare ‘Push’ bush set, but this only included the 3x main pivot bushes, not the horst pivot bushes.

I was wondering the same thing, but I just put the nozzle of my dualco grease gun straight into the sprung ball of the king bb tool nipple, not perfect but it does work

Still using the original Romic on my 04 Spot, far better than any air shock I’ve tried on it, but it’s a bit of a pig to service compared with the DHX coil on my sixpack

Got a week out of a set in Morzine – it was wet for 3 days, loads of free play and as rough as a rough thing – siezed solid by the time I got back home, have never got more than a couple of months out of a set in the UK – very poor sealing.

Having now done a couple of rides with Troutes Cutie I can confirm this light is bloody bright! On the 1st ride I had both the Cutie & my Liberator on the bars to carry out direct comparisons. For outright power the Lib can’t match the Cutie – this thing will dry out wet trails! My only critisism is that I felt the low setting was too low for my preferances, but this can probably programmed differently on thr driver. I liked the hood over the lens as it helps prevent you blinding yourself when you get out of the saddle. All in all I think Chris has got himself a winner with the Cutie.
Sadly its all recharged & boxed up now & ready to post on to Stoney – enjoy!
    Thanks for the trial Chris.
    Iain.

PS – Cutie, liberator & diy 1800 on the head all on at the same time was fun!

this works a treat for me – have repaired a pinch hole at the bead of a non tubless ignitor running stans, dont even have to take the tyre off

Yeah, I can’t wait to try the spidereyes, I’ve got it coming to me to test at some time, problem is I really don’t need any more light with the Lib on the bars & Trouties 1800 diy light on my head, but I’ve got that ‘want’ thing going on!

Received Trouts prototype cutie today to test – thanks scooper. First impression was that it’s smaller than it looks in the pictures & sits quite ‘tall’ on the bars, but then I am used to the low profile of my Liberator. I waited until it got dark to do a ‘garden’ test & shine it out accross the field behind my house. I thought it would have a tough time to outshine the Lib as this is the best light I’ve seen. Not sure if my Lib has still got the low & medium levels set as Chris sent it out – I think its now set to levels 3,4&5. On low my Lib is cosiderably brighter than the cutie, on medium they appear similar, but on high the cutie outperforms the Lib by quite a margin. I thought the Lib would have a much better spread of light but it doesn’t appear to be any different, but the cutie has more ‘punch’ & a better throw.
Should get a proper test tomorrow night so long as its not raining too hard – might not be very popular if I’m not riding at the front though!

I ran a pair of 2.4 advantages until they were worn out, thought they rolled & gripped pretty well, ran them tubeless (stans)at 20psi in Spain with ciclo montana – no punctures during the week. Eventually destroyed the rear one (pinch hole in the sidewall) in the Peaks & had a dummy spitting moment trying to repair it!!

Is this the sort of thing you’re looking for?

    http://www.retrievatracking.com/retrieva_portable_tracker.aspx

I bought the collar version for the dog who likes to run off if frightened, can be tracked via OS maps on a smart phone & has a panic button on it that can be pressed in an emergency that will alert any phone programmed to the device. I’ve had great service from Retrieva & ViewRanger who supply the mapping.

I’ve been using revvies for years, mainly because I’ve got boxes of the left over from my jeyboy days. Currently using them 32 x 3 cross on mavic 321 & 325’s with alloy nipples with 225/205 disc setups with 4 pots. Done Alps, Spain, Dolomites, reasonabe drops & jumps on them, had the odd broken spoke but due to damage rather than failure at the nipple or elbow. Can’t say I notice any flex.

Try this fella for offset shock mounts

I’m running 2.5mm offset lower shock mounting hardware on my 5Spot & 6Pack, slackens the Spot by about 3/4 of a degree & about 1.0 degree on the Pack, it obviously slackens the seat angle too & drops the bb by about 5/6mm which you may not want. Alternativly I think you could hunt down a set of shorter seatstays from the ’06 non asymetric chainstay TNT spot which will have a similar affect.

No complaints with my King headsets since fitting the Griploc convertions – the ‘o’ ring top race wasn’t great though

stantion/crown, steerer/crown interface I suspect. You can normally make them creak/click by holding the front wheel between your knees & trying to rotate the bars. Difficult to do much with it – may be warrenty, my 32 vanillas do it, I can stop it for about 6 months at a time by putting the bike upside down, applying thin chain lube to the stantion/crown interface, applying heat with a hot air gun to the crown & vigerously pushing/pulling the lower legs with the wheel removed, reapplying lube & heat until the creaking stops.

Fitting is as per shimano, I think the stepdown kit is used with raceface cranks.

That sounds like Norheads Lane, if it is I think you have every right to be there. I’ve been riding it for about 15 years although I must admit I do peel off it and ride the footpath that goes across to the next byway. I’ve never been stopped by anyone even on the footpath.

I’m still running the original Romic on my 5spot with 5.1 rockers, I tried an RP23 with a high volume air can & with medium compression & rebound tune but I just didn’t like it, it wasn’t supple over small stuff like the romic. I run a DHX coil on the 6pack but I’ve never tried it on the 5spot, coil every time for me.

the collars get pushed off by the bearing as you remove it from the axle

Stick it in with some liqud nails and a roofing bolt, & ride it like you stole it instead of turning it into a garage queen & stop worrying you big tart!! Where were you last night anyway? 🙂
