There are no oppressive men in your gorger society that get jealous at the slightest thing.

There are no gorger women that feel trapped in gorger society and can’t escape an abusive relationship.

There are no illiterate gorgers in your gorgio world.

There are no small business self employed gorgers cooking their books or taking cash payments to avoid paying tax in your gorger economy.

Gorgers dont abuse other gorgers, steal, leave rubbish anywhere, perpetuate ignorance, act aggressively, fight other gorgers, bend the law to suit their own needs or desires, avoid paying tax or commit the occasional crime.

I’m so glad that your gorger world is so perfect.

The Irish Traveller world or the Romany Gypsy world (note they are two separate worlds) is far from perfect but what society isnt.

    Good and bad everywhere.

I’ve met some incredibly intelligent people that are racist and some super stupid people that are racist. I don’t think you can say racism is down to ignorance or stupidty; in some cases it is but some people’s racism has an ideology or world view behind it.

I talked to a guy from cheltenham on a bike trail in Wales and he had 4 bikes taken out of his shed. They were all locked together onto metal posts in concrete. They took it all concrete and all over several garden walls aswell.

How many people have had bikes taken out of garages ………. do not leave them there.

Done the coach to Chamonix and its a MF crampfest. I’m just under 6ft so I’m sure you’ll have a ball.

Graham the snow looked cool. Had a similar splat into deep snow in Saas Fee the other year and its crazy how much effort it takes to get the snow off your board!!

Friggin Heck Ernie! Am I right in reading that last paragraph? You are condoning all those US government supported and funded rightist death squad activities of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s due to a US paranoia of the domino effect and ‘not in my backyard’ baloney that basically sanctioned mass murder of people worldwide?

Surely there are many forms of fascism and socialism. Someone said earlier that fascists were nationalist whilst socialists were internationalist. But that’s not strictly true. Socialist and communist movements have not necessarily been internationalist in the past and have been vehemently nationalist and xenophobic in outlook. Leftist movements have used patriotism to save the nation just as much as they have used classism. Patriotism and Nationalism is just as much a component of leftist politics as it is of rightist politics. Also, whilst fascist movements have the defence of the nation to be concerned about, they have also been explicitly internationalist seeking to unite with others to defeat perceived enemies, internally and externally.

German and Italian troops fighting for Franco in the Spanish Civil War is a prime example and more recent examples can be found in the Balkan War of the 90s. Western European fascists and nazis (from UK, Italy, Germany etc) fighting for the Croats against the Slavic Serbian aggressors and the Muslim problem. On the other side you had Russian and Eastern European fascists and nazis fighting for the Serbians in defence of Pan Slavic Nationalism, Chetnik fetishisation and the perceived Christian resistance to the historical enemy, Islam.

Personally, I just can’t stand the way they speak.

Crispo that campsite was cool. infact LB is damn fine and look to go there again in the future. my partner is half swiss so we’re going to look at spending a fair amount of time there in the future.

Yeah footpaths are above wengen but people were riding them and there seems to be vagueness at the tourist info office about where you could ride. Pretty much said they were rideable – regarding access – there’s no distinction bwt walking and biking paths- it’s not illegal but they won’t promote the fact that you can ride them. There are plenty of way marked routes for biking but they are mainly wide gravel tracks with some singletrack. They just aren’t promoting the fact that you can ride the footpaths aswell :)) you might be better with a proper OS map for the area to compensate for the poorly designed bike map that you can get at tourist info offices.

We took the train all the way up to kleine scheidegg and on the right hand side of the train lines/station (as you look up at the eiger) there is a footpath that goes off diagonally, its looks awesome and you just zoom off down there!!!

Murren was said to have an amazing singletrack that follwed the cliff edge back to the gondola. We couldnt find that singletrack, just found an uneventful gravel track back. But the trail down from the gondola to LB will test you.

The baby gate is to keep the dogs out and before you get too cynical – those people have done the house up and protected it from the elements for the past two years.

    Finally got round to this……
    Just by the campsite.

How your bike goes up to towards Murren…. below the gondola.

Then a short train ride to Murren itself

Coming down from Murren, gets steeper and rootier!!

Other side of the valley above Wengen

Quorn is the devil’s spawn. Avoid at all costs.

Redwoods are so much better and you can pick them up from holland and barrett.

The vegetarian and vegan society have loads of ideas for cooking on their sites. Check em out on line. Just google veg recipes and you’ll come up with loads. The BBC and Channel 4 have decent stuff on thier web sites.

LB is pretty cool. You can get the train up with your bike to the the station before the eiger and bike back down. But i think that there are time restrictions on when you can take your bike on the train. Some nice patches of singletrack but plenty of gravel roads. The signposting can be a little confusing, same with bike trails in swissland. we got lost a few times. The bike maps are basic to say the least and the tourist information offices can be somewhat unhelpful. Nice campsites though. There’s some decent singletrack around but a lot of gravel roads. The track down from murren is pretty good and steep we did it on HT and you would get alot more out of it on a full suss. There’s a cool bike shop at LB where you can hire a DH bike, pads etc.

The other valley that heads up to the eiger has grindlewald in. thats a pretty cool place, buses take your bikes up to the top of the valley and then you can bike back down. cable cars will take your bikes up to the top of the hills but its more gravel tracks than singletrack.
I can post a few pics when I get chance.

    The freeminers is pretty decent.

Went on the dh tracks on my ht last year and had a blast. Psyched to take my dh bike ther when I get some new forks.
