The lower part of the assembly is way too tight to go in so the ring isn’t the issue.
Have since spoken to a mate who will be able the machine a nat’s knacker’s width off – just enough for it to drop in. He bought the same forks (Merlin) and has a Head Doctor too so will inevitably has the same issue.

Seems ChrisL is right. Called Merlin and I need an adaptor to take a 180 anyway as forks set up for 160.
What a faff. Nice new forks = new wheel plus new rotor plus adaptor. Expensive game this biking lark 8O

About 14.5 stone so no Kate Moss.
The Revs will take a 203 – just wondered if it was worth upping size as I need a new rotor anyway.
Running XT brakes…can’t honestly say I’ve had an issue coming to a halt before though TBH.

Do you recommend a specific make of rotor?

These are the first set of pics I've seen that make me actually want to go up Skiddaw :lol:
I'm up near The Lakes next weekend and was considering Cross Fell but can't seem to get much ride info on it so looking for a Plan B. Walked up plenty of Lakes peaks but never really fancied it on foot – lacking something but looks loads better on 2 wheels! Which way did you go up? Looks like you came down Ullock Pike. Really fancy it, especially after tucking away a few of those cheapo Leffe's at Asda :wink:
