The Naryali Chicken in Khazana in Loughborough is bloody excellent if you’re in the area too!

Bastards. I’m wanting a curry now.

Spice Tailor are the best ones for quick home curries…especially the Fiery Goan. The Dishoom book has a Chicken Ruby and if followed to the letter is funkin amazeballs – cooked by 2 different people and it’s absolutely one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My Hindu neighbour’s veg curries are also stunning…come to think of it, they’ve not brought one round for a while 🤔. Again, bastards 🙂

There’s a very large FB group called I Love The Lake District (241,000) – people often post lost and found items on there. Might be worth a try – if you’re not already on there, message me your details and I’ll post if for you.

Marten’s Inn as previously mentioned. A bit out of town though so taxi back in if you want extra beers too.

Not been for about 4 years but the food was very good then. The noise, harsh lighting, Bollywood screens everywhere and slightly crap service might well have changed for the better since then too 😉

If it’s as good as it was I can recommend the Indian hot Lamb Tawa.

Despite not playing that well, Wales beat Finland 4-1 last night to set up a winner takes all game against Poland next week. Will be an uncomfortable watch I suspect (watching Wales is rarely an easy watch) as they are ranked 29th and 30th respectively…hopefully Lewandowski and co have an off day!

Sad times – for us as consumers of late and over the years. Been using CRC for probably over 20 years 😕.

Hope the employees get sorted sooner rather than later.

Pathetic. Nothing to add except Italy totally deserved that.

‘Only’ a £20 order placed on Tuesday – said I should get it before next Friday and heard nothing since. Hopefully it’ll get through but the signs aren’t good

    Thanks for all the replies.

First port of call this morning will be the local repair shop – they might know instantly what the issue is (as their website claims to fix 95% of issues first time within 24hrs). If it’s cost-effective we’ll get it fixed.

There seems to be a lot of love for Bosch Series 4, and a lot of loathe for Samsung in general. If it is a new one I think we’ll get a Bosch.

    Exciting times.

Welshfarmer – I love the fact he lives in a small village in Wales now. He’d seen enough beautiful, quiet parts of the UK on his travels to reinforce his reluctance to live in a city again – good on him!

Was thinking about the Rob Penn book next…good but different to Mike’s?

Want to order some clothing but unsure of sizing so good chance it’ll need to go back – around £40. Chat reckons returns ‘as per normal’ – would you risk it?

Anyway have any experience of Endura Pro SL II bibtights with the 700 series pad? How they size up, longevity, fit and quality…now on the radar

Nope! 2 consecutive 120 mile weeks on the bike. Feel fairly fit and strong ATM – just as well as doing the Cheshire Cat sportive 4 weeks tomorrow 🙂

I did a build last autumn and managed to get Hope E4 with Tech 3 levers in mint condition for £180 delivered. They’ve been brilliant.

Oh…yeah, my title is slightly misleading!

Sportful Infinium (for when it’s really cold) and Fiandre tried on – according to the fit chart I’m L but went for XL. Still tight but the straps want to fold my back in half. One has Neoshell and one has Windstopper so loaded with ‘features’. They’re both going back.
Chapeau Club 2 are a much nicer fit – even the L, and nicely made without ‘features’, and though the foot loops sound like a great idea, there’s def an art to putting them on properly! I’ll be doing some long rides in them and wonder in the pad is up to 7hr+ rides.
Anything else to consider before I make a final decision on returns?

    Thanks for the recommendations all.
Making the short list are a few different Sportful ones, Castelli Tutto Nano and a few pairs of Chapeau. mrb123 – how are you Chapeau re: fit, comfort and quality?

Does the cable go anti-clockwise as it goes into the pinch bolt? If clockwise, it’s in the wrong position leading to shifting issues. A common mistake, apparently.

Jumps/gaps. Shit myself when there’s a hole after any kind of take off. The bigger the gap, the bigger the shit.

I had shifting issues recently with this. Turns out the cable pull was wrong – the pull to the pinch bolt needs to be anti-clockwise when it seems more logical to do it clockwise. Gears are now spot-on.

Watch ‘Downhill’ – that’ll give you an idea about group dynamics on the C2C. Brilliant film.

Still in. Met friends out for food last night – had a Ghost Ship 0.5% which was awful, so followed that with a Doom Bar version which was beyond bad…disgusting even. Guinness 0% is very nice in comparison.

It’ll be a AF Peroni in the pub post-ride later, then meeting a mate tomorrow afternoon for a few pints of 4.6% Blue Monkey Infinity 🍺🍺.

I plan on not drinking as much as I used to though as I find the Guinness like nice in its own right.

Cheers all – some valid points. The ‘idea’ is dead in the water now BTW
