Touring gear is whatever the gear you have on your bike with some luggage ;0)

Any toting that requires carrying sleeping and cooking stuff is all sorts of wrong!

    Always match everything…

Although I’ve now been hoisted by my own petard with that as I’m going to have to spring for Thomson bars for my best bike.

Thomson was until now the only exception.

ISP’s give you an excuse but the bar and stem should then match.

Hopefully they might manage a carbon fork where the guards can fasten under the crown in production so it looks right.

They’re nice bikes but there really needs to be some bar dropping on this thread they’re CX bikes not MTB’s…

Belgium is great just Bruge I don’t get it feels to me like a tourist Ghetto, whereas Gent feels like a proper city because it is, not picture postcard lovely but arguably the most impressive town museum I’ve ever visited in the shape of the Stam.

There’s a Germa company that machine headset cups for this situation, but I’m struggling to remember wh they are though at this point in time, they make really nice high end hubs as well it’s not Tune though.

Nice, if those forks are anything like the old windwood forks I’d not much fancy a disk on as they were flexarama offroad with cantilevers, mine are still in the shed…

I’d be tempted to change the wheels first, I’m thinking some Hope and Stan’s 29er wheels, will make the bike a lot lighter and where you’ll notice it most.

I think it maybe a Thomson post Swift interaction thing that just doesn’t work with the saddle slammed all the way back.

Depends a lot o where you run your saddle really.

I’ve got a Swift on my Genesis just a steel railed one, it’s mega comfy, don’t but it squeaks like a very annoying thing which is pretty dull.

Oh if you run with the saddle along way back on the rails you’ll find that the metal clip that holds a swift together fouls a Thomson seatpost which is again a source of noise.

If you ran the saddle mid rail I’m pretty sure this would all stop?

It is super comfortable though and despite the weight I’d consider whacking one on the Sprout.

Times for years commuting, to be honest I just do the groceries in my Sidi’s, and go to the local in Sidi’s no problems to be honest.

I’d not want to walk far in them, but they’re fine for shopping, drinking, and to be fair the odd walk when you’ve had one too many to be able to ride home ;0)

I think it’s because the SRAM 11 speed cassette is over £300 so you could have two of those set ups for the same price…

Peaks ride to St Pancras hop on the train five hour ride come back three hours on the train each way, with breakfast on the way, beer on the way back and a ride across town each way.

Done it a couple of times this year it’s a grand day out great fun ride from your door to some of the best riding in te UK and back again.

Go mental and book a night in a YHA or camping barn and it’s a weekend for buttons.

    Awesome!

Police have been hassling CM for years because they don’t agree to protest rules, why would they?

They’re a group of people riding bikes not a set protest, the police can’t deal with this and now seem to abuse the group freely?

Why do cyclists as a group need to tell the police where they are going, why should they tell the police where they are going, it’s a celebration of cycling not a protest it’s the authorities who get it routinely wrong.

They seem to find a group of cyclists riding where they want on a Friday night intimidating?

Critical Mass have done nothing wrong a group of cyclist’s is how threatening?

Certainly living in E11 my thought are with them hope they all get off they’ve done nothing wrong!

Locog have shut off rights of access for years why shouldn’t people protest about that at the least opportune moment?

Why should they be physically abused for riding bikes, I’ve ben at parties that have been pigged and been treated better…
