I wouldn’t bother messing around with tires and tire changes, the weather changes so rapidly out there I just leave wets on. Used to be Swampies, now I’m a Baron convert.

I don’t understand why people are so keen to take a crap on on one – the firm offers quality products at a good price. If you don’t like it spend your money elsewhere. Is it a case of sour grapes because Brant is successful?

echoing Brant, shop also has to pay staff wages and pensions, heating and lighting, rent, rates, advertising, insurance, etc etc so they are not exactly making a fortune from the £99 retail price.

Wait you’ve ridden 15,000 miles off road every year for 17 years?

Yeah they’re good, saved my ugly mug once or twice. Couldn’t source one in massive swellhead size the last time I smashed the chinguard up so went for a POC. Would definitely buy another though.

I wish I had one. Last weekend I binned it, got up and carried on. Everything looked ok but I managed to knock the rear mech out of kilter, meaning a shift caused the chain to skip over the biggest cog and mash my spokes. Lost 8 spokes, game over man

Mountain bikes aren’t cheap but I think they represent good value. The forces involved when you’re bombing down trails are huge, yet these bikes and components (usually) handle everything thrown at them.

I once spent 6 weeks out in the Alps and all I had to replace were pads and tires, everything else just worked. Amazing pieces of engineering.

So if you buy something in month 13 you will have 2 months interest-free.

Also what mrblobby says above, the cheapest money you will ever borrow if you play it right.

The trabec helmets are great, pretty much the only trail helmet that fits my enormous swell head without making me look like a complete tit. The high price keeps the slobbering plebs away, darling.

OP you should report it, but if the owner is a ne’er-do-well you might be in for abuse, vandalism, arson, assault, who knows. It’s a tough call and I wouldn’t blame you for doing nothing.

I’ve never been asked to show any ID entering France on the Eurotunnel. I think this is because nobody in their right mind would escape Britain to live in France. British border control on the way back will give you a hard time but just pretend you didn’t realize, it will be ok.

    What do you mean fine?
any bike is fine, you can ride any bike in the peaks and it will be fine, however if you want to go down the hills a lot faster then you need a bike that can handle the speed. And a long travel hardtail full suspension bike will allow you to ride faster and more aggressively than a 29r hardtail.

    That’s better

If I had to give a tip it would be to run the right tires (thick ones) and DH tubes.

I’ve turned into one of those awful tragic apple fanboys since getting my ipad 3. Didn’t bother with 3G. Ipad is great, icloud, not so much. Other tablets are available but they all suck

I admit my stance is based on condescension. It’s the same stance I have on the Tooth Fairy or Santa or the Gruffalo. OK if you’re 5 years old, not OK if you’re an adult.

Why is it deemed a good thing to mock mercilessly and without sympathy. Amazingly hate-filled idea. So, because you believe God doesn’t exist anyone who does deserves to be, metaphorically speaking, spat upon?
    Lovely.

No you get me all wrong, there’s no hate here. Amusement, bafflement and pity? Lots. You believe that a fairy wizard lives in the clouds.

“wizard in the sky” ha ha, it’s funny cos it’s making fun of someone’s stupidity, ha ha.

    Hateful and tedious.

Making fun of stupidity? Yes. Tedious? Probably. Hateful? No. God doesn’t exist. You *do* believe a wizard lives in the sky. You believe another wizard (this one is a baddy) lives under the ground. Ergo you will be mocked mercilessly and without sympathy.

@stevewhyte so basically you’re a homophobe with only the most rudimentary grasp of spelling and grammar who believes in a wizard who lives in the sky.

Edit: You’re not a teacher are you?

@stevewhyte you’re saying the Church is tolerant of gay people and welcomes them into the congregation?

    randomjeremy

The Church hates gay people like me and wants everyone to get AIDS. Also they wear dresses and think a wizard lives in the sky. **** the Church.

Edit: and **** anyone who supports them too. In the arse.

In my experience even a patent or patents can be useless unless you have the means to successfully defend them. I’ve been stung by that before, $INCUMBANT decided to rip our product off, we took them to court, they strung it out for years and the legal costs nearly bankrupted us. We eventually successfully defended the patent and our costs were paid but it was a massive waste of time.

The faster rider should stop and wait. The last thing anyone needs is some asshat buzzing their back wheel, descending is challenging enough, jeez.

Don’t do what I did once when i was young and foolish; rather than wait I kept bombing along. I was fast closing in on the rider in front. His friends had stopped further down the trail and warned him that I was coming through, and to stop and pull over. As I sailed past I nodded and thanked them for acquiescing to my superior skillz , misjudged how much space I had, clipped one of their pedals, sent two bikes flying and managed to deck myself.”Rad”.

You’re kidding right? Unbelievably quick up and down. I know STW is full of supergnar dudes who descend like gods, laughing in the face of XC jeyboys, but this guy was super super fast. Much respect.
