@Cougar, it’s German and Bulgarian. I’m in Bulgaria right now, so that part makes sense. Not sure why German though.
It was more about the sheer volume of ads. I can barely see the Singletrack page.

This is what the website looks like for me…

    All The Ads.

The cookie issue disappeared for me for a while, now it’s back.
But the worse problem now is the adverts!
So many adverts, I’m getting adverts over the top of other adverts.

My screen is so full of adverts it looks like a scene from a bad movie where the stupid computer user presses the wrong button and is bombarded with ads.

    The site remains unusable.

@Cougar. No idea. I’ll try other browsers and get back to you.

    Honestly, it’s a sh1t show. It’s awful.

I get the Privacy & Transparency menu pop up on almost every new page which just makes the site unbearable.

Also, you claim to have opened up the review section to everyone… you haven’t, or at lest not me.

I find I’m spending less and less time on the site.

Is anyone else finding that? Add that to your poll section.

@ogden, you mean the Cube OEM ones? Yeah, I didn’t like the look of them so I asked for the standard XM481 rims with the normal decals.

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago…

Cheapish Wheelset Battle… Hunt vs DT Swiss… Round 1, FIGHT!!

I ended up getting some DT Swiss 29″ XM481 rims on 350 boost hubs including the 36 tooth ratchet upgrade for about 380 quid from Fitwheels.

I had doubts at first but I contacted Lukasz at fitwheels and he was brilliant, the patience of a saint. I bombarded the poor sod with emails and questions. He built me exactly what I wanted and even threw in 10 spare spokes.

The wheels are great, arrived taped up and have been a massive improvement over my Specialized stock wheels.

They weighed in at about 100 grams more than the Hunt Trailwides.

Definitely worth getting in touch with Fitwheels to get a price.

    UPDATE :

    I got the DT’s.

    From Fitwheels.eu.

Only had a short test ride on them so far, but first impressions = AWESOME.

Sorry, I wasn’t meaning to be harsh or bad mouth Hunt for not letting me have the 10% discount.
I missed the deadline, so be it. Not their fault.

All I meant was if I could of gotten their Trail Wide wheels at 315, I would of gone ahead with that.

Also, the DT Swiss build DOES INCLUDE the 36t ratchet. The kids are gonna starve for a little whiles.

Ok, I’m kinda leaning towards the DT’s. The people at Fitwheels have been pretty good with comms and speccing to my (limited) budget. So as it stands this is the spec I’m considering…

    – DT Swiss XM 481 29″ Rims, 30mm internal. These are Cube branded ones, apparently. Not been able to totally confirm that from internet research.

    – DT 350 straight pull hubs.

    – Sapim D-Light spokes

    – Sapim alu secure lock nipples.

    – And if I don’t feed the kids for a few days I can upgrade to the 36t ratchet.

So all in I am just squeaking under budget.

Waddya think? Have I missed something or compromised too much somewhere?

BTW Hunt wouldn’t honor the 10% off code, admittedly 6 days after the promo ended. But Hunt with 10% off would probably have swayed me. Oh well.

Thanks for the responses, the DT Swiss are via Ebay but it’s a company called Fitwheels.eu based out of Poland.
They’ve been trading since 2005 and do get the odd good mention on this forum.

36t ratchet would probably be at a later date to keep the cost down.

Do I need to know anything about straight pull spokes? never had them before.
